I love this band, it’s so light and comfortable - I’ve actually been exercising with it. Also, given it’s made out of 100% grade 5 titanium, it’s not even that expensive
Appreciate the quick wrist measurement shot. So many reviews leave that out and it's so important, especially when talking about gigantor watches like the Ultra.
I purchased the watch bundled with the Milanese strap. Saves 100 bucks from buying the strap standalone. Never had pulled hair and the strap is very airy and comfy
You don’t necessarily save 100 dollars. The watch costs 800, the usual bands they come with are another 100. If you’re buying the Milanese then it’s 200. So the watch with the Milanese costs 1000 while with an alpine loop for example costs 900. You don’t save 100 on the Milanese because you’re also not getting the other band it usually comes with, which you may want to use sometimes if you want to switch things up.
@@srikanth85inits not 'win win'... you simply paid for it... whats wrong with you? Its not 'win win'. Its just 'as expected'. When you buy something in most cases you get it.
I didn’t go for the Milanese titanium when I was opting for the black Ultra 2. So I just got for very cheap, because Apple is not selling those anymore, the Leather Link! Such an amazing comfortable strap which looks so good on it!
What I like about the Apple watch is how easy it is to switch out bands. So I wear a metal band throughout the day, and swap to silicon for working out. I have a titanium Ultra 2. Noticed the separate Apple Milanese band won't be available until end of November. I decided to get a knock off to try. Since it's a titanium finish, it'll be less prone to scratches. The band itself seems to be pretty good (haven't gotten any kinks). The only main issue I can see with it is the latch for securing to the band. You have to line it up just wright in order for it to fully latch. Otherwise it can slide. I may spend the money on the Apple brand when it's available on Amazon....just because of the nicer finish of the latch mechanism (that granted most people won't notice) and that it completely latches on the band.
So an addendum: I've gotten the Apple (natural) band. It's way more expensive than the cheap knockoff, but it does have some good advantages. When it comes to sizing, I measured my wrist at being 181mm (that I could choose medium or large). I decided to go with large in case I wanted to go loose or if my wrist changes with workout. So turns out the ripoff (that didn't have a size option) is the same length as my large Apple band. But one thing that's very noticeable is that the Apple band is much lighter: it's about half the weight. The latch mechanism is also much better. It has an overall curve that the ripoff doesn't have...and the watch band latch locks down and stays flush (vs the ripoff, which it never gets flush). One slight odd thing is that I find it's a little harder to close the latch with the Apple brand since the tongue is curved. But it's still not a deal breaker....especially since the band is very light weight and the latch mechanism is flush with the wrist.
@@robf21 the clasp sits flat on my wrist and its the comfiest band ive had. Its more comfortable to sleep with it. The clasp does get scratches. But i dont mind.
4:10 I have the 1st Applewatch Ultra and ordered the natural Titanium Milanese loop and think that is a better option as the is no color change with scratches, even deep ones are same color throughout…
Mind sharing, why is the Ocean band your favorite? Do you ever have issues exercising with it (i.e. having a nice, tight fit for sports)? Thanks for the awesome review.
I tried buying it when I was in the downtown Chicago Apple Store on Michigan Avenue a couple of days ago. Unfortunately they’re not in stock anywhere. However I will still get it because I actually collect oem Apple Watch bands.
I really want this band for my natural titanium ultra 2. I’m just hurting about the idea of paying 270 Canadian for a band. Apple doesn’t even buy you dinner first.
I have two fabric bands and the stainless steel one. I wear a band for three days or so and it gets slightly itchy so I throw the fabric bands in the wash or rinse the stainless steel one under the tap.
I would like for you to actually see if the third party band is durable enough vs the apple band. It would be interesting to see if your surmise is accurate. If the the third party band is tough enough to not break and maintains it's looks, then, there is viable choice, rather than just dismissing it vs the Apple product. $199 for a watch band that may become obsolete in a year, if Apple decides to change the strap mechanism, seems offensive
The Milanese loop I got in 2020 with my Apple Watch 8 is still in pretty good shape even after wearing it every day for much of that period. The loops will bend or break and snag on clothes, poink you, but it's not a huge deal. You'll have to snap them off or twist them in to close them off but I think I only had that happen to two little links out of the hundreds in the loop. Is it worth however much they're charging for it these days? Maybe.
I have the exact band in black, but way more cheaper. Actually $6.99 us dollars. Not original though but cant find anything different on it. I use it for work and not a single scratch. Way better than $200!!!!!
Are you wearing the Medium size? I got the large because my wrists are 185mm and I was worried that the medium might be a struggle to get on and off. The large fits fine but I feel like there is a bunch of excess strap. Like when I wear it, the band loops probably 2/3rds of the way back around my wrist. I wish they have 4 sizes or more so you can really dial in the fit. Also I wish the bend radius on the band was a bit tighter because I find where the band loops through the lug, it's quite bulky and not the cleanest look. Overall I's a really nicely made watch band though.
2:33 THIS!!! It scratched the fuck out of my MacBook Pro! I now have to pad the MacBook with a microfiber cloth under my wrist so the watch band doesn't scratch it up.
The natural Titanium band doesn't show scratches as much. Same goes for the Ultra 2 in natural titanium. The scratching of the Macbook has nothing to do with the band, just user error. Any band with a metal buckle would do that.
SANDMARC - Titanium Edition - Apple Watch Ultra Band is nicer.... waiting for the new one to release. At $349 for grade 5 titanium you aren't cheaping out on this one.
I have a knockoff and it looks amazing with the og titanium watch. I use it for working out and it’s fine. Would not wear it in the ocean, but the whole Y spend more money on a band - I don’t know maybe because $200 is ridiculous for something that functions exactly like the $30 version. How about that?
I lost my Apple Watch 4 in the ocean back in 2019 while cliff jumping. Jumped in one last time, and came up to the surface with my watch gone from my wrist.
Even high end watch makers avoid mesh metal bracelets because arm hair catches and pulls the hair out which is uncomfortable for end user. This guy need to shave his fingers lol
Looks sharp and I wouldn’t knock anyone for wearing it, but I personally think that a mechanical watch would be received just a little better for any scenario where you would “need” to dress up an Apple Watch. However, to each their own. As we slowly begin to enter pants season I will be wearing my Apple Watch around my ankle to count those steps in these situations. Otherwise, I frequently switch between trail and ocean band. Also, I appreciate your content. Thank you.
I bought a replica of that Milanese loop from Aliexpress. It is a peace of junk. The locking mechanism that is for adjusting the length cannot hold the setting. And every time you use your hand it becomes larger. Has anyone face that kind of problem with the original ?
Loved your review on the Titanium Milanese Loop! I recently explored several Apple Watch bands and posted a video on the best options for 2024. Would love your thoughts if you check it out!
One important lesson: Never buy an Apple Watch because it belongs in the trash. I spent £800 on a AWU2 and dropped it accidentally and it hit the edge of my glass table which caused a dent on the titanium bezel. Considering it only dropped from 26cm drop this proves it is sh1te!!! Now I really appreciate my Huawei watch ultimate which is made using superior materials and craftsmanship often used in high end expensive watches. It is something you have to experience yourself to truly appreciate this beautiful watch. So, I’ll never buy Apple again. Greedy Apple use cheap materials because they try to sell their Apple Care insurance.
Many people feel the same way...but then many of those same people spend hundreds of dollars a month on fast food, or Starbucks coffee, and don't give it a second thought. Interesting.
