    #Contour
Use this page to enter cutting parameters for a Contour toolpath. Follow this general outline.
    • Enter values for different cutting parameters and compensation options.
    • Select a Contour type from the drop-down list in the upper-right corner.

    #Parameters
    #Contour type
Sets the type of contour toolpath Mastercam creates. Choose 2D, 2D chamfer, 3D, 3D chamfer, Oscillate, Ramp, or Remachining. You can choose only contour types that are compatible with the selected geometry for the toolpath. After you choose a contour type, Mastercam displays additional toolpath options below this field for the selected type.
    2D/3D contour type
Displays the type of selected chain and contour toolpath that is created, 2D or 3D. If the toolpath is based on 2D chains, this field is read-only. If 3D chains are selected for the toolpath, you can choose to change from a 3D to a 2D contour. To re-chain geometry for the toolpath, return to the Toolpath Type page, and use the chain geometry options.

    #Stock to leave on walls
Enter a value here if you do not want to remove all the stock from vertical drive geometry, such as surfaces, faces, or chains. If the drive geometry (or a portion of it) is not vertical, Mastercam interpolates a value between the Stock to leave on floors and Stock to leave on walls amounts. Note that stock to leave on walls must be greater than or equal to the stock left on the floor.
    #Stock to leave on floors
Enter a value here if you do not want to remove all the stock from horizontal drive geometry, such as surfaces, faces, or chains. If the drive geometry (or a portion of it) is not horizontal, Mastercam interpolates a value between the Stock to leave on floors and Stock to leave on walls amounts. Note that stock to leave on walls must be greater than or equal to the stock left on the floor.
    #Lead In/Out
Use this page to create lead in/out moves for toolpaths that have a tree view list of pages for Mill or Router toolpaths.
    • You can create either entry moves, exit moves, or both. Select the Entry or Exit checkboxes to activate the type of move you wish to create.
    • Your lead in/out move can include both lines and arcs. To use an arc only, enter a line length of 0. To use a line only, enter an arc radius of 0.
    • Enter arc or line dimensions as either absolute values or a percentage of the tool diameter. When you make an entry in one field, the other automatically updates.
    • Use Copy to copy entry dimensions to the exit section or exit dimensions to the entry section.
    #Parameters
Note: Not all options are available for all toolpath types.
Common Toolpath Parameter ControlsCommon Toolpath Parameter Controls
#Enter/Exit at midpoint in closed contours
Starts and ends a toolpath with closed chains at the midpoint of the first chained entity.
    #Entry
Mastercam lets you create a lead in move, a lead out move, or both. Select Entry to create an entry move and turn on the Entry options.
    #Exit
Mastercam lets you create a lead in move, a lead out move, or both. Select Exit to create an exit move and turn on the Exit options.
    #Perpendicular
Rotates entry or exit lines 90 degrees towards the cutter compensation direction.
    #Tangent
Places entry or exit lines tangent to the cut direction.
    #Line length
Sets the line length for entry or exit lines. Enter a percentage of the tool diameter or an exact length. Mastercam automatically updates the other field when you enter a value in one of them. Set to 0 if you just want an entry arc and do not want an entry line.
    #Ramp height
Adds a depth to the entry or exit line, turning the line into a ramp. Set to 0 for no ramp height.
    #Arc radius
Defines the entry or exit arc's radius. The arc is always tangent to the toolpath. Enter a percentage of the tool diameter or an exact length. Set to 0 if you just want an entry line and do not want an entry arc.
    #Sweep
Sets the sweep angle of the entry or exit arc.
    #Helix height
Adds a depth to the entry or exit arc, which turns the arc into a helix. Set to 0 for no helix height.
