I know this video is about 2 years-old, but I want to point out that this controller is a renewal, modernized version of the original Hori Fighting Commander for Super Famicom that was released back in 1992.
Great video Rick, speaking of 8bit-do you might want to give some of their controllers ago, specifically the SN30 pro or SN30 pro +, their awesome controllers that are great for retro and modern AAA switch games
I have the sn30 and sn30 pro, however although they are good controllers I prefer the d pad on the hori. I actually have some difficulties with the dpad inputing unwanted diagonals on my sn30 pro but I might just have a faulty sample.
@@MapleSyrupGamingandTech yeah the first batch of sn30 pro with diagonals select and start button came faulty, the fixed it with the horizontal select and start button like gameboy edition
@@Ndrew556 yeah I talk about it quickly in my accessory video where I present the SN30, your really want the second edition to make sure you don't get faulty inputs on diagonals. Great insight thx for sharing.
i got to say , out of all the options for the SNES classic / NES classic to get a official nintendo licensed controller thats not the OEM pads that came with the classic consoles, the Hori Fighting Commander is the way to go. Believe it or not though for the Switch there are other options for a 6 button spread pad that are better, such as the retro bit sega saturn / sega genesis 6 button pads and also the new hori fighting commander that just came out for switch or my other personal favorite besides a saturn pad, the PowerA Fusion fightpad. Super nintendo might have the greatest D Pad of all time, but not float pad! Nice work on the video it was awesome
Damn only 2.3k subs? This seems way more professional than that, hope your channel grows to fit your video quality
ty so much for your support I hope to keep growing as well 😀

actually i discovered that if you press start and select at the same time using the gbros adapter, it just does zr and zl!
Have you tried the regular Hori Fighting Commander for Switch?
Solid video, Rick! I never played Sega, so those L & R face buttons would totally mess me up!
thx again for great comment and that the beauty of this controller if you want to ignore the extra face buttons you can.

Thx a lot for the compliments and yeah this is really my top option for a retro only controller 😁
@@MapleSyrupGamingandTech I did not liked the duplicate L and R inputs in the Switch Wii and Raspberry pi
