Anju Bobby George is a legend in world athletics. Her 6.83m jump in Olympics 2004 still national record of India. Even after 17 years nobody came near. we Indian's would not even deserve to celebrate our olympians success if its happen. we know every uncapped ipl players but, don't even know single hockey player name except few people.. that's a bitter truth...we really need to change our mind that what sports is. in India, sports means cricket nothing else..and despite of it we expected medals from our Olympians

Dude😂. We do really have very good coaches and some of the best facilities for practicing when it comes to track &jump games. We don't have to play the poverty stricken country image for everything. The only downside is families usually don't support their girls to be in games, high end nutrition (for athelete level) and enough grant from govt to motivate atheletes. Obviously the problems arise for team sports and other.but not for track &jump athletes on national level.

@@t.dileepak4296 Yes. Indians do have coaches but the problem is the synthetic tracks here are not in international level of standards. Some of the runners even acknowledged that the tracks here are very rigid and foreign tracks are bouncy and of very high quality. I am not a sprinter. But i heard one of india's top runner speaking in an interview.

India wont reach top in sports until the government or other academies provide free/less costly coaching for talented people ! Now only the rich people are getting chance to go for coaching and they're not doing a great job ! TBH. i've reached the district level in badminton without any coaching and lost to a national ranked player. Obviously i had a less costly racquet(about 1000 rupees) and my non marking shoes(about 700 rupees) were not comfy to move 😅. Anyway i can't afford to pay 1500 a month 😧.
