I've got the black. Fume dial is very subtle in black, almost none existent . It also transitions between a dark and light grey which is interesting. I was going to buy a pelagos lhd or fxd but I've made the tight choice imo, at half the price. It's very thin for a diver and the case sculpting makes it wear even better. No slab sided tuderness here ! The bezel action is also o e of the best ive ever clicked. If it was over the 2k mark for CH...I would have bought the tudor so they pitched it just right for what I was looking for

It's not just you. I recently purchased a Breitling Aerospace and I also think the titanium case and bracelet feel sticky on my wrist. The material must be just a bit rougher than stainless on a very fine level, that makes it cling to the skin.

I almost ordered this watch. I really like the specs and style. Really want a 100m+ full titanium watch. The only thing that gives me pause is the lume. I need lume that I can see over back lighting for hours. Normally this pushes me to tritium watches like Ball. They don’t have a thin, titanium watch with good water resistance.
I’m sure the lume is good but I’m left with questions of: How long does the lume really last? Is it better than the lume on other dive watches that iatr inadequate for me? Can it hang with tritium?

As someone who has owned both, I’m curious how you think this watch compares directly with the Tudor Pelagos. It’s obviously thinner, which is a plus, but I would assume some differences in quality that would make the Tudor stand out. Like I assume the CW bracelet is just pinned instead of screwed? I am also kind of curious how the Titanium will hold up. I would say a week isn’t long enough but I managed to put a pretty massive scratch in the clasp of my Pelagos on its second day. Meanwhile I wear a titanium Citizen that is apparently coated in adamantium, because I beat the shit out of it and it looks pretty much brand new.

    • @YoureTerrific
      @YoureTerrific  3 місяці тому +4

Comparing to the LHD since I've never owned the Pelaogs 39...
The only noticeable quality advantage the Tudor has is the clasp/clasp adjustment system. The Pelagos also has a more interesting dial for me. Then the Tudor has a longer power reserve and a date (if you want that).
The CW is more comfortable, lighter with smoother bracelet links. And considering the size difference too, is the LHD worth $2.5k more? Maybe not. I don't care that it's from "the Rolex family". That doesn't mean much to me but I understand that it's important to others.

great commentary. I like these things, but do I really need a seventh Christopher Ward watch? Hmmm. Time will tell what I think of those somewhat cartoonish looking lumed hands and markers. It's better value and sounds (according to you) just as well built. I don't own a Tudor because I find them overly conventional and apart from the lume on this Lumiere it ticks all those conventional boxes, too. But, it's a very tempting alternative to Tudor and you save a ton o'dough. 8/10 CW.

No one states how long the lume lasts.
Charge it up and let's see how long it last since it is the main feature of the watch.

I think the case is perfect. The proportions are great. Materials are good. The movement is good and maintainable. But there's something about the overall dial/indicies which bugs me. The full lume globalight blocks look kind of cheap and plasticky to me at first glance. Also would've appreciated the dial being full black rather than grey if they wanted to to go full tool watch.
I hope they use this case on other variants. With some slight changes I'd be all over this because I can't afford a Pelagos

I’m with you. I would have been ok with them if the hands and twelve marker weren’t skeletonized. Makes them look cartoonish, like a kids watch. I’m admittedly never much a fan of fume dials so that’s a miss for me too.

I LOVE the chunky lume and I hope all the companies that currently put lume in white gold pots on their sports watches switch to chunky lume. An Explorer with chunky lume would be the business (for me).

Minute hand is necessarily skeletonized for weight reduction. Minute hand is unnecessarily skeletonized so you can drink in all of that 3-D lume.

I don't get the uninteresting aspect. To me that is kind of necessary to have a conventional shape when you come out with a dial that out there looking. Too much crazy all around and it starts to become too weird to wear as a standard watch. This keeps it firmly in a daily driver conversation while still being interesting enough that I'd definitely cross the room to talk about it if i hadn't seen it on UA-cam before. Those lume blocks are really striking

I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the AMZWATCH has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.

I like the styling of CW watches, but I really don't get their pricing. This costs more than double the price some of their original models. For example, the C60 Trident Pro is around £750 (about $1000) with rubber strap, and even that is around $150 more than last year if I remember correctly. So how can this cost almost two and a half times more? And what's with the bracelet prices? $415 extra for the bracelet? And that's on top of the price for the rubber strap, which I assuming it replaces in the box rather than is supplied in addition to. So you're probably paying around $500 in total for the bracelet and while they're OK, they're nothing special.
I know it's titanium, but you can get titanium watches for well under $500 now. And CW tend not to sell too well on the resale market so they're hardly a watch you can consider to be an investment. Anything over half the original price on ebay tends to struggle to sell unless in mint condition. They're producing some great watches and I get that they want to be considered in the same bracket as the big boys but I'm not convinced and I think they're in danger of pricing themselves out if they push it too much.
I agree with most of it, and they have got the bracelet looking brighter than most Ti watches do, and I really like the Fume, it makes the indices stand out and looks more expensive than just a flat colour dial. It's just too expensive for what at the end of the day is just another dive watch.
