Seeing your Mom in the tree was priceless. Hearing the waves come in was fab. Thanks again for the effort you put in sharing your trip with us. What a wonderful video. 💕📚
Meeting book friends is the best meeting Tammy, Jamie and Katie. Smiles and laughter all around. Krista I loved this vlog so much! Watching this was like a big summer hug! Thanks for sharing your summer adventures with us. 🥰
What a wonderful video. Your mum is absolutely precious and such a character. The sound of the rain and the waves is glorious. And the cottage on the lake looks divine. Thankyou for sharing your family. You are so blessed ❤
Wonderful video! I always like when you visit your mom and sister. The State Fair looked like fun and I know it smelled good with all those different foods. You got some good books too.
Timeline games are awesome. We homeschool and have about 10 different games of different subjects. They are great for learning and/or reinforcing our lessons. Lots of fun.
Love this vlog!😃💙! Always love your weekend vlogs Christa but this one was so much fun to watch because you were visiting near where I live in upstate NY! That farm market/cafe burnaps is one my favorite places my husband and I like to visit as we go there a lot during summer through Fall. All along lake Ontario is really beautiful we love taking drives all along the lake as there are so many nice spots with beautiful views. Fun tagging along with you!💙🤗 I mean grabbing Starbucks, checking out book stores, reading a good book with that serene view of the lake looked so fun & all what I love to do🤗📚☕ ! The state fair looked like a great time too!
Looks like a wonderful weekend! Glad you got some family time and got to meet some booktube friends. How fun! I’m thinking we need to do a meet up in the north Georgia mountains in the fall. Maybe Blue Ridge. That would be so fun!
what a fun trip to visit family -- your Mum is so cute, fun to see her in your videos. What a view of the lake you have ( sorry - it could be an ocean! the size?!?! ), thanks for catching the beautiful sunset shots - love when that orange meets the blue in the horizon. I've added a couple more to my TBR from what you shared! like I need it?! 🥴
I love our State Fair (Indiana), I live about 20 minutes away so it's easy to get to and I get a thrill every year just driving into the gates. 30+ years.
Estherjane here from Fulton, NY! Can I say I loved this so much. Lake Ontario checked, lived in Phoenix, and grew up in Liverpool! And of course The GREAT New York State Fair where in 1972 I was in the crowd to see Sonny and Cher. I know it all😊. It was great traveling around with you all and knowing all the places. Thanks for this video that made my day😊
I will have to ask her, but I know in the last few years she's loved books by Cathy Glass that focus on kids in foster care. They're tough reads because of some of the things these kids had experienced in their lives.
My niece went to that state fair. She lives in Syracuse, NY I am going up there in middle of September, to celebrate my sister's life who passed away in July. Which is my niece's mom. we are going to all come together at a restaurant and talk good things about my sister. She didn't have a funeral, so we are doing a celebration of life. I hope I get through it, even though it is a good thing we are doing, it still makes me sad. My sister used to go to that fair, she used to raise guinea pigs and got ribbons for them. She talked about that fair all the time.
OH man. I love your plan of getting together to celebrate her life and share memories. That's similar to what we did for my brother Jordan. So sorry for your loss, but hope that time with family is so very special.
@@coffeelovingmaria thank you for your words of comfort. Sorry for your loss also. I have another sister, but not as close as I was with the one that passed. But we are trying to work on that.
The Great NY State Fair🥰 I haven’t been in years but I remember those butter sculptures 😊. It always rains at least one day on fair weekends😂 is the bookstore in Liverpool? I’ll have to check it out next time I’m visiting my son. Love the lake clips also. I just finished reading Evie Woods The Lost bookshop. I think the book you got was her follow up because there was an excerpt in the back. I enjoyed the book. Loved your haul!
It's fun to go to the fair when I can. Yes, The Golden Bee Bookshop is right in the town of Liverpool. I think you're right, the Lost BOokshop is by the same author.
I was at the fair last Thursday! We watched a cow being born. I would have died had I run into you. 😂 I love the beef sundae! Looks like you had a great day.
This was great!!! SO FUN!! You sure bought alot in a few days 😁 WOO-HOO! So nice to see your Mom and that you are both readers. I miss my Mom. Your Salvation Army was ALOT cheaper than the Goodwill I was at today(s.e. mi.) Paperback children's books were $1.29 and adult hardback were $4.29!! Softcover $3.49! Rip off but I did buy some. Had to look as quick as I could because the store was filthy, the inches of dust was making me sick, gave me a migraine and stung my eyes terrible. Won't go back there again.😑 Beautiful lake, looked like an ocean (as does Lake Michigan). Thanks Krista!
Yeah, I love that lake Ontario almost feels like being at the ocean...except on calm days. I don't think the ocean has those. haha. I very rarely go into Goodwill anymore because of their prices.
Loved seeing all the fall small town feels in this video! I grew up in Western Mass and we always loved the Big E. Did you ever hear of it when you lived in MA?
19:27 The Murder of Mr Wickham sounds like a light-hearted version of Death Comes to Pemberley by PD James (Denny not Wickham is murdered). I found that too dark to be honest. Plus, I didn't like how James treated some of Austen's characters. (Enjoying the low-key trolling of your sister. What's the point of siblings if you can't tease them? Though obviously woe betide anyone else who attempts to mock them...)
Your reaction to your mom reading Bridgerton was priceless. I had to go back and watch that several times. 😂
I was so surprised!
@@BooksAndJamsyour laugh was everything! 😂

Oh my goodness. You sitting in that corner at Mom's cottage reading and listening to the waves...that's my happy place! Such a fun video! 😊
It was so lovely to spend a bit of time up at the cottage. It's so peaceful there.

Such great time with the family. Because you never know when a member just goes. Love your vlogs showing your "whatever" weekends, that's so great.
We both know that very well, don't we. I'm glad I got to spend some good time with my mom and sister this past weekend.
Hi Krista! ☀️
It is wonderful seeing you get a chance to spend time with your family (and bookish friends, too)!
What a great vlog!

Thanks, Lori!

It was such a fun weekend with my mom and sis. Perfect way to start the Fall season.

I enjoy going to fairs. The NYS fair is an especially large one. Always a good time.
I recognize those grey skies from our days living in Syracuse!
Haha. Yep!

That's fun. I'm looking forward to trying out this one. I'm really bad with dates, so I'm not convinced I'll do very well, but I'll try!
Wow how lucky to go there. Enjoyed watching u there love a fair
Take care b safe..Thanks for taking us along with you and family.
Thanks, Therese. It was a great weekend.
So fun you had a meet up in NY❤
I loved getting to meet some subscribers and a booktube friend in person! So great.
I just started reading Mind Games. It is a dark book. I like the relationship between the kids and the grandmother.
Yeah, that relationship was so special. She was so wise.
@@BooksAndJams I agree I am still in the very beginning of the book.!
This was a fun video. The cottage and listening to the waves was really nice. I did order that Nora Roberts book after you talked about it.
It's definitely not one of her romance books. But there is a little romance in it. I hope you like it.
The waves and the sunset was wonderful. Happy to see your meet up!!
Thanks, Kami. It was a great weekend away.

Evie Woods also came out with a book in 2023 titled "The Lost Bookshop." I have it on my bookshelf but I haven't read it yet.
I have The Lost Bookshop on audio. Definitely plan on reading that one too.

I was so shocked when she said she was reading the next Bridgerton book! haha. Too funny.
What a great weekend!!
Yes it definitely was!
Thanks for sharing the clips from the fair. I wasn't able to go this time. Wish I was able to meet up with you.

You're right, it's one of the great lakes. It's massive though and does give off ocean vibes, but it's not salt water.
