Once I started on making aspects of my beard look on purpose, I started receiving compliments on my beard. My morning routine takes a little over eight minutes and look at it as not "wasted time" but showing my beard some love.

I don't have nearly the thickness in my sideburns as you, but I tried using the heated brush (same one you have) doing the same thing you did in the video. Then I asked Shari if she noticed a difference. She immediately noticed that the sideburns laid down more. Can't beat immediate results! 😎

I use a blowdryer but a heated brush is a new idea for me, thanks. Just with the moustache, mine also grows quickly. I've gone with it, a bit like when you say length and gravity will sort out beard hair - I have found it does the same with the moustache a bit. Those little ones you trim are so long they are part of the pack and just go over to the side when I brush nowadays. Makes an epic looking moustache (in my opinion of course!)

I really like to look intentional with my style. I use the blow dryer with the heated brush (for the same areas as you) probably 350 days out of the year. I will then finish up by going over everything with the large boar bristle brush to give it that tight velcro like hold, and help eliminate a need for balm. Works great for my beard.

Best technique for me is blow dry multi direction. Right to left, left to right, up over my face and then down. Do this with a detangle brush and follow the brush with the dryer. Each direction I pick it out a little at a time in the opposite direction. Smooth with a few seconds of heat brush and it's fairly straight and very tidy.

I use both pretty much every day or at least the days I was my beard and feel like I’m straightening all over again from the start. I tend to use the heat brush first all over to take the curls and then the blow dryer for finalizing the style

I’m not trying to be nitpicking here but since I know you like to learn stuff I thought I would let you know that BaByliss is actually a French company, created in my neighborhood in the 60s, and in France we don’t pronounce the "BaBy" part as in the word baby, the "a" is pronounced as in "bat"
I know it doesn’t make much sense but I checked on UA-cam and I found a number of English speakers who pronounce it like us ^^

I no longer trust a heated comb. In 2019 I used a heated comb a lot and dyed my beard, I was not aggressive and used low temp settings and my beard developed all sorts of knots and if I ran my beard through my fist it puffed out the last inch or so.
At the end of 2019 I stopped dying and using that comb. In 2020 I did some aggressive trimming to get rid of the dyed hair.
Now in 2021 I have the length I had in 2019 and none of the problems I had at that time.
I think the comb's cumulative effects on beard hair is dangerous and I believe these devices should only be used on medium length beards where the hair is long enough to show the straightening effects, but kept short enough that the hair is cut off before severe damage is seen.

Hi. I have a heated brush. Is it really important to use the heat protectant spray beforehand? The one that I have came with a heat spray but I don’t like the smell of it.

Great video Dan, I have been doing this lately but I start with your method to remove waves since I have a fine wavy beard although there’s a lot of fine hair. Instead of going down with a boars hair brush from the waves video I go down with the aberlite then hair dryer. Do you think that is a good order or switch it up a bit? Thanks in advance, enjoy your Sunday.

Oil first always. Apply oil to a damp beard. Wait 5 minutes. Then heat. I do not use butter after this routine but if I did, it would go after heat

recently bought a heated brush, it's definately helped keeping the fly aways down and keep an overall uniformed look (i may get a different brush as the teeth are quite spaced out). how often do you recommend using a heated brush (how many times a week)? thanks Dan
