  • Dont take my Boop Oop a Doop Away. Mae Questel's first song recording with Victor.
    Lyrics:
Aha! Dont take my Boop Oopy Doop Away! Will ya?
I was born with a certian habit thats part of me, it brings me happiness somehow!
and now this habit is right at home in the heart of me! without it im no good no how, you can feed me bread and water or a great big bail of hay but dont take my Boop Poopy Doop Away!
You can say my voice is Awful or my songs are too..err rique! But dont take my Boop Oopy Doop Away! Hmm i feel like lonesome barrel without a hoop! If you should deprive my of my Boop Oopy Doop Oop! Boop Oopy Doop, It's the only thing i'll live for till the time im old and grey so dont take my Boop Oopy Doop Away!
Aww i feel like a little chicken locked in the coop! If you should deprive my of my Boop Oopy Doop Oop! Boop Oopy Doo!
You can throw me to the fishes, even that would be ok! But dont take my Boop Oopy Doop Away! Ahaha!
After recording Dont take my Boop Oop a Doop Away for victor Mae Questel started recorded Shirley Temple knock-off songs for Decca in her Betty Boop voice titled as "The Betty Boop Girl", Mae also did the voice for Betty Boop in a Radio Show called Betty Boop's Frolics/Betty Boop's Fables. Mae Questel's Betty Boop voice is a impersonation of 1920's Actress & Singer Helen Kane, actually Betty Boop is a definite caricature of Helen Kane.
Mae Questel also sings this tune live in Musical Justice as Betty Boop which was released in 1931. Betty Boop sings this in Boop Oop a Doop 1932, by either Little Ann Little/Margy Hines.
