This is the first interview I have ever seen with Edward and Sophie and he is just the sweetest and most natural man, with such a lovely sense of humour. Really enjoyed this tremendously, just not long enough!

I think they all have a good sense of humor and are quite funny. People just have a tendency to take whatever they say and twist it in a negative way. I even think Prince Philip's funny LOL

So much respect for edward and anne, they do their job are the most down to earth and just get on with it. Edward is very calming indeed :)
Look at the body language of those two. They love and support each other. They are a great team, devoted to duty, and yet so down to earth. No drama or seeking the limelight with Edward & Sophie. I admire them tremendously and am happy Edward will be the next Duke of Edinburgh.

I really like Edward and Sophie - they seem so happy and relaxed together!
Edward and Sophie both came to my small town in North Wales back in 2008 and planted a tree in our local coronation gardens. My dad and mum both met them and they said Sophie was especially lovely and so down to earth.
And they never broke up, unlike the other 3 marriages. The name Edward has been reinvented nicely, hasn’t it?

Edward does come across as the most 'normal' of the four siblings. He came across as a bit bratty in the 80s but since he got married I think he's become a genuinely nice guy. She's probably been a good influence on him. She comes across as the most relatable and 'together' of the wives too.

What a great down-to-earth couple. I also really enjoyed the style of Rhiannon Mills as interviewer. She seems very warm and isn't google-eyed or condescending. Just normal and conversational. I liked it when the Earl was talking about walking down a "corridor of people" and being scared. I know he understands that everyone there loves the Family and just wants to greet them and say a warm haloo to them!

He is a HRH so the earldom doesn’t mean that much to him it gave a title to Sophie.

Very good interview, the first I've seen wih Prince Edward and his wife Sophie. I was also pleasantly surprised at how nice, open and down-to-earth they are! With all the scandals surrounding Charles and Andrew, and the relatively low-key profile of Princess Anne, I'd say Edward and his family are the Royal Family's best kept secret! 😊

agree, he was a bit of prat in the 80s (although his mistakes are small fry compared to his brothers) but he has changed for the better since meeting Sophie. I guess her working class background probably helped him become so down to earth.
I always felt that Sophie was the woman that has been the making of Edward. He and his siblings were extremely arrogant somehow, before Princess Diana's death. Sophie is very intelligent, classy and above all well balanced.

Down to Earth? He was asked if he would be a blood donor after his wife benefited enormously, well, was saved, through a blood donation after a difficult birth. He demurred, because he thinks that no royal blood should be donated to commoners. That is how down to earth he is. But on the other hand he did marry a used car salesman's daughter.

I've had the pleasure of meeting and having lunch with HRH The Earl of Wessex and he is a very nice guy and put me at ease!! As he was walking up the receiving line one was getting very nervous!!

They are perhaps the nicest, warmest, calmest and the most approachable of the royals. From what I have seen they are 2 of the hardest working royals apart from Charles and Ann now as the Queen is passing off a lot of her work to the younger royals as at 94 she deserves a rest.

Edie Koller they have not always been honest. In their early marraige they tried to make money off of their royal connections. They got caught on camera doing a deal. Both were reigned in by the Queen. They couldn't do anything without permission. Took a long time to earn the Queens trust again. Hence they keep a low profile. Although I am an American, for some reason I have always had an interest in the royal family from a very young age. I can remember reading about the announcement of the Queen being pregnant with Edward, and being "shocked" because the Queen was (in MY naive mind) much too "old" to have a baby. I had followed Edward's life through the years, but I became busy with my own life, so I haven't been paying too much attention for a couple of decades. He seems to have turned out to be a fine man with a very lovely wife and family. They seem so pleasant.
