I've known about this site for some time, but just recently had the chance to hike up to it, and take a look. I was impressed by the condition of the wreckage. It's amazing this happened over 50 years ago! This is the lower portion of the wreckage site. Apparently there is more to be seen further up the mountain. Definitely something I will have to make a return trip to see.
Sorry for the quick, and shaky footage. I forgot the mosquito spray, and I was being eaten alive. - Авто та транспорт
That is so amazing, thanks for posting!
That is really amazing. The condition is impressive. Guess they really knew how to build these things tough back then!
I have been to this site when I was younger. The main body of this plane is still up on the hill about straight up the hill. This place is called tool city
I’ve heard that. One day I’ll visit this site again with enough to explore up the hillside 🍻
Rub fabric softener sheets on your skin and stick some at various places around your hat, collar etc. Skeeters HATE fabric softener.
Amazing that old tire looks like new,,still holding air and no weather rot...
Kinda surprised the various 'vintage aircraft' organizations (such as the Continental Air Force) haven't salvaged it. Surely there's something left of value.
the wheels look in good nick like they were still pumped up
They looked perfect to me 😃
It looks a lot like it did 40 years ago when I was there last. Is the old miners cabin still there?
Not sure where the cabin is. It’s amazing how preserved everything is
that ire was very intact, the other one look like it exploded
Landing gear parts for at least a static restoration rotting away
It definitely could be used for something like a static display. They’ve actually recovered other parts from this aircraft for a restoration. So some of the parts have been saved.
