I honestly appreciate these more wacky things then the traditional races. Don't get me wrong I love the channel regardless, but these challenges r a highlight
In today's video, FailRace / Alex trains to be a Formula E driver. Lesson learned: every time you have to step on the brake is a time where you made a mistake of not controlling your fuel burn.
This was so fun to watch.. as slow as it was I was yelling and screaming like it was a cup finale on broadcast TV. Bloody brilliant FR inc!!!! Outside the box fresh ideas... bravo!!!
Thanks that was a really great video. The suspense was incredible. You should do more with different style cars or tracks. Maybe a rally fuel challenge
It was the same in the first race, the people further back had faster lap times than the people up front, you needed to brake less and take less aggressive lines you your tire didn’t scrub off speed.
@@rccookie6202 It'd have to be a same make race. And you could quite easily just get them to drain the tanks, and fill from a "regulation" container as they go out... or have a device to limit the amount of fuel passing through.
@@TheBaldrickk The problem is not to get the same amount of fuel into each car, but that the cars will run out of fuel before the fuel tank is empty. We have a truck here that turns off when it’s still a quarter full. I guess you had to run the engines until they go off, then refuel them.
first race the lead group got a good lead but then stayed at pretty much the same lead throughout. Much easier to burn a bit early and save a bit more later, crossing the line with any fuel means thats speed you didnt get to use.
I was in an online racing league for NASCAR events that went down to an extreme fuel saving for the very end. My brother and I worked together to get like a 30s lead on everyone while trying to save fuel. Then on the last lap, we raced each other for the win. He gunned it first ran out with three turns to go, and I ran out coming out of the last turn and coasted past with my momentum to win. It was so much fun.
efficency - always use top gear always lift and coast such that you are right on the edge of grip but never brake always full throttle on corner exit. its the same as hybrid boost.

Getting up to your cruising speed faster is much more fuel efficient than sitting at full throttle in a high gear for a long time. That's why cars with a stage 1 tune might gain fuel efficiency if driven the same way they were before the tune as they spend less time accelerating up to cruising speed
If my understanding of saving fuel on ovals is right, then you should probably focus mostly on trying to not use the brakes, though thats at an oval, no idea if itll work on a road course
For those of you wanting more fuel challenge races look up a UA-camr called Viper Concept and the Eco Cup series he did in Gran Turismo. Some of the winners are pretty funny
What a completely stupid race and a complete waste of the engineering that the Forza team put into making this, just for a UA-camr to create a fuel critical race. I feckin' love it!!!!!
The second race might be one of my favourites ever
Tremendously close for something so nuts 😂
You guys make incredible content when you're all together
I think the difference maker was I forgot to put it in a lower gear for the run to finish after running in 6th the whole time lol
I honestly appreciate these more wacky things then the traditional races. Don't get me wrong I love the channel regardless, but these challenges r a highlight
That was one of the most intense finishes I have watched in a while.
I don't watch much of your Forza videos these days, but this feels like old-school Failrace in a very good way
In today's video, FailRace / Alex trains to be a Formula E driver. Lesson learned: every time you have to step on the brake is a time where you made a mistake of not controlling your fuel burn.
Only you can make even fuel saving race interesting and fun to watch 😀
I was on 0.1% fuel in the last race and decided to just go for at the end. Somehow it worked 👍
That was an amazing finish. Congrats!
This was so fun to watch.. as slow as it was I was yelling and screaming like it was a cup finale on broadcast TV. Bloody brilliant FR inc!!!! Outside the box fresh ideas... bravo!!!

Ah, the Scott Dixon challenge.
Notice Brazens best lap time in the last race:
1:58.688
Compared to second and third place that were on 1:56, consistency won the race there.
It was the same in the first race, the people further back had faster lap times than the people up front, you needed to brake less and take less aggressive lines you your tire didn’t scrub off speed.
Who would have guessed that fuel slipping racing would be this exciting.
I was really hoping for a video like this, really interesting change of pace!
It would be interesting to see this done IRL as some sort of special series.
Imagine a F1 race but the cars are on low rolling resistance tires and are in the highest possible gear the whole race.
It’s going to be quite difficult to find enough similar enough cars, or even to get the same amount of fuel into each car. I do like the idea though!
@@rccookie6202 It'd have to be a same make race. And you could quite easily just get them to drain the tanks, and fill from a "regulation" container as they go out... or have a device to limit the amount of fuel passing through.
@@rccookie6202 Oh wait, you meant for the channel? I meant IRL as a proper race event.

It's fun watching real tracks. I used to live about an hour away from Mid-Ohio and I have driven the 24 hour track at Daytona.

usually your videos are just fun, but not heart pounding, but this really got it thumping!!
efficency - always use top gear

its the same as hybrid boost.
dont forget gassing while downhill for that sweet gravity boost
we need more of this
Replays work now!!! Celebrate. Funny racing idea, very entertaining.
Somehow, surpassing every expectation, this was good racing
the last corner of the last lap.. well played sir!
Brilliant! Whose strategy will work, and who will be left at the roadside? Suspense all the way to the chequered flag!

Good stuff. Been a minute since I've watched a video, but this is a great reminder why one should continue to watch Fail Race!

THis is like watching many Leclerc and Verstappens trying to get DRS off each other.
Wider lines, no brakes and lift and coast. Tight lines make your tyres brake.

Oh nooooo! Hahaha fucks sake!!! That finish on the second race 🤣🤣😭😭
Reminds me of formula e a couple years ago with that finish
Finally, FailRace goes fuel conscious! Good on you caring for your carbon footprint :P
You actually made a race event out of your fuel situation at Spa last week lol
That was really fun to watch!
BAC MONO SPOTTED 💯💯💥🔥🔥📣📣📣🗣🗣WTF IS AN F1 CAR 🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣💯💯🔥🔥
That was highly entertaining and looks like a blast to participate in.
reminds me of the channel viperconcept. used to do a lot of these races
Coasting with the clutch in wastes fuel
But otherwise, the car slows down cus of the engine. And you end up wasting even more fuel to build up the speed
@@lucasgomesdesouza5023 Could do what I do in my car and just put it in neutral.
There's no way Ninetails and Impega had the same amount of gas the rest of you did in the first race
The fuel usage in the game is pretty strange, I believe them
Not sure if it would make a difference by keeping your average cruising speed up by not taking the racing line and going wide on corners.
Hey, Alex.
I just saw gameplay of Pacific Drive.
Mate, you have to Stream it sometime. If you like the Long Drive you will be stunned in comparison.
Would be interesting to see this mixed with push racing. Maybe push car could have 1 or 2 percent fuel on a short track
That was a fun one! I hope you do more.
No way impega and ninetails had the same amount of fuel as the rest in the first race.
Generally to save fuel running 1 lap at what would be speed under caution saves 2 laps fuel
i wanna see more of this!
Love that idea.
Did this idea happen after Alex did this by accident in vstc last week
That and I suggested the idea in the same video and people liked the idea
Love this!
The trick is to not use the brakes and just use momentum :)
you made a formula e game
Inconceivable!
This is like lots of nascar races the end in who can save fuel tge best
good vid
I wonder if forza cuts injectors during engine breaking yet
Did the idea for this race come about after the last video where Alex's game crashed and he forgot to set his fuel.?
golden!
please do more!
Ah yo!

Fun? yes! four FM 2023? No! pleas keep this stuf in FH5?! Thank you....
