      I actually had the "fall off the wall" in slow motion, but that also showed me rubbing my face in slow motion, which was kind of creepy....

    You lucky dog! I've been wanting one of those for decades but every time I've bid on one at a fair price I get outbid. They're still several found in the wild, at reasonable prices but yours looks like mint to NOS. Not the smallest razor in the world but certainly imo the best design for a small travel or bug-out kit that uses universally-sized DE blades and that's why I've been after one. Could well be the smallest that takes a standard size DE blade, definitely give you that. Still digging my 1940 4-piece open comb that looks a lot like the Merkur you'd used during a blizzard, broken down it's not taking up much room. This thing's sweet, problem is now everybody will want one and I'll keep getting outbid. Enjoy it, I know I would!

    So just a general question. What's the difference between a high priced razor like Merkur and a $7 chrome-plated generic-branded razor ? If they both potentially use the same blade, does the desgin make that much of a difference? thanks. Like your vids..

    • @kwade220
      @kwade220 10 років тому +1

      The major differences are precision and longevity between a cheap razor and a more expensive one. Cheaper ones are poorly designed where the blade might sit slightly crooked or loosly (cuts/razor burn) and in the long run breakd or tarnish. For the extra money you get what you pay for, I started wet shaving when I was 19 and im 24 now and I have a Merkur HD, it still looks brand new and functions exactly like it did 5 years ago out of the box. Its really worth the extra money man, Hope this helps with your purchase.

      You're right, this razor probably was a gimmick that someone thought of many years ago, went through the trouble to design it and have it manufactured. Someone put a lot of time and effort into the process. I wouldn't call it stupid... How many patents, trademarks, designs have you gotten/made? It may not be your cup of tea, but you gotta give credit to the team or person that made it. The great thing about shaving is that there are many different products to choose from, to suit many different tastes.
