Nice review Edwin. Yours has a Rosewood fingerboard. Current production for export are now coming with Merbau fingerboards. See Cort's website for spec and detail. Coarser grain lighter wood, but feels identical to Rosewood to play. Incredible quality and playing guitar for so very little money. I love everything about mine, particularly its tone.
thanks for a very informative comment. I have never seen Merbau fingerboard. Can you spot the difference in Rosewood?
@@Edwin-E Yes. Merbau is lighter in colour and grainier with a darker contrasting grain. It feels indistinguishable from Rosewood. As this is the only guitar I have with Merbau, I don't know if it impacts tone, but if it does it's in the positive sense. I love the AF510's tone. Click on the specifications tab on the AF510 page on Cort's website. Scroll down the spec list to Fingerboard. It is spec'd as "Rosewood or Merbau". Click on the Merbau hotlink and it will take you to an image of Merbau and other substitute woods being used by Cort in the face of the worldwide Rosewood restrictions of CITES.
If it is lighter and grainier, well it looks cool. I like it.

They are different body size. So it depends on your preference. Both are laminates, so nearly same level.
I have a Full Black made in Indonesia. Good guitar for practicing with Mid Range Price.

great video but i just don't get it... what's wrong with the base E string. in 2 videos now i hear it slap and bazz. something that does not happen in your other guitars. what's wrong with it?
probably the nut slot height is a little bit low which can cause string buzz

I think they are just similar in terms of aging. They are both laminates. Not all Cort guitars are OP. Some have glossy finish.

The Yamaha 310 or the electric version of the cort AF 510?
both guitars are same level, however, they have different body sizes. Yamaha F310 has bigger body than Cort AF510. So, it depends on your size preference.
Which do you prefer tho? Huhu it's so hard to decide what to buy

So your advice is to re-string this guitar? Just bought it and is my first acoustic so I'm not sure if I am not skilled enough, but I feel the strings too thick and a bit too hard to play. Which strings would you recommend? Thanks for the review!
If you find it really thick for stock strings which is normally Light gauge, you can move down to Custom Light gauge .011. But I don't not go beyond that coz the tone would be to thin.

Hi! I've tried a set of Elixir 0.11 polyweb (I chosed them because I prefer a warmer tone) and although they don't seem to be thinner than the set that came with the guitar I feel them softer and they sound amazing! I think these strings are perfect for this guitar, make It sound soft and warm but very well balanced. Elixir are not cheap but they are worth It. Thanks!
Which string gauge is recommmended for this guitar?
I normally use .012 or .011.
how about the bass and mid tone?
bass is a little bit weak due to body size.
Can we adjust base in it when connected to it an amount since it is an electro acoustic guitar? Af510se

They have almost the same wood material and construction. But, they have different body size. So, it depends on your purpose and use of this guitar as well as preferred guitar body size.

I can't remember as I purchased this 2nd hand. But I think this is roughly NZ$ 250 brand new.
I own this guitar but want to buy the Epiphone dr-100. Anyone know which is better?
If you want louder and more bass, then better buy an Epiphone Dr100, it has full body dreadnought. Unlike this one, this has smaller body and great for travelling.

wala na sa akin, so cannot measure. Scale length is about 25inches I think, but the body is small.

coated strings last longer, but non-coated usually has better tone.

hard to compare as they have different body size. Cort AF510 is small bodied guitar and great for travel. While Ibanez VC50 has dreadnought body which has more volume and bass response.

I think the Ibanez VC50 has better sound due to body shape.
I will buy whichever my requirement is. If I need smaller guitar, I will buy AF510, If I need bigger sound, then VC50.

This or cort ad810?
Ad810 is a Dreadnought size guitar with emphasis on the bass tone, af510 provides mid range tone with equal emphasis both lower and higher notes with a medium size body. I am definitely getting af510 instead.
