Invisible End Light Source - Endlight - A Minecraft Lighting Tutorial

- Welcome to the 1st in a series of small tutorials requested by subscribers. We are going to stick to subjects relevant to building our coasters as there are plenty of effective and useful Minecraft tutorials out there already.
Some of these techniques you may have seen elsewhere but we wanted to show you how they fit into our builds and hopefully they might be useful in your own.
In this 1st tutorial we make use of the end portal as a lightsource so that no torches, glowstones or lamps are visible to the viewer when viewed from below.

I just tried that on PC. Brilliant. I see how building on PC can streamline the building process. This is still the only way I know of on the Xbox though. Thanks Orion Weblab & Blacklightning57!

Rephrase: In the xbox version be sure to place items from the center when creating your portal.

Very clever Nuro. Always wondered how you achieved the lighting in your videos. Though it was clever placement of glowstone or torches. Make me wonder what else one could use as a light source. Keep em' coming.

That's totally one of the main things I couldn't explain to people how you did it, b/c I couldn't figure it out. It looks like spot lights!
There are actually many more options for ALL kinds of other things on PC. But alas, not on the xbox360 and so I was compelled to make this tutorial. Also note, I never said it was the ONLY hidden light source in Minecraft. Also the method in this tutorial is invisible only from below making it useful for overhead areas only (as stated in the video) unlike your method which requires carpet to conceal and carpet can only be placed above a block which means it has no relevancy to this tutorial.

HOW R U SO GOOD AT THIS my brain just exploddded
On PC I have found that this effect is a little glitchier. I will find out WHY that happens though. I have found that it usually happens to me on servers and usually resolves after I restart the server & my client. Another fantastic hidden light source for pc is to take glowstone or a beacon, place on floor, 1 block deep, and cover it with carpet.

Recently or when it came out? Last I know of was a couple months ago when it was released and that was cool of him. It was the first time I had heard of who Syndicate was.
Not yet. That was entire mechanism was assigned to GreanBeastful so I will ask him if he is interested in doing a tut. = ) Looked cool though, right?

We learned that animals spawn on grass blocks. So the grass blocks had to go. We recruited a mob to carpet bomb a flat world map with tnt. I can still hear the screams of the sheep & villagers in my dreams.

have you done one for the cracking walls on the ghost busters coaster?
i know about the glowstone/carpet trick but its inside the ocean i am placing it so that isnt an option to use but thanks if you will find out why it does that
