Watch as I show you how to put together a generic Langstroth beehive frame. I assemble the wooden portion of the frame, without foundation.
Simple & quick. Liked that you repeated so I didn't need to look at the video again
No, I didn't have to drill any pilot holes in this wood, as the nails themselves were also pretty thin. I did have a couple frames that did crack a tiny bit if the nail went in on an angle, but because I used a good wood glue, I won't have any problems with that.
That being said, for assembling the boxes, it's a good idea to have pilot holes as you've said.
So did you not have to drill out a small hole before you put the nails in? The wood looks kind of thin and I would be worried that it would split if a nail is driven in "naturally".
No problem. Glad you liked it. If you liked this and my other videos, please subscribe to my channel or my blog. (Details in comments above)
Thanks for sharing this!
The glue isn’t necessary. It contains formaldehyde and on an entire hive of new frames is enough to weaken the bees immune system.
Thanks for posting
Woodglut comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.
Wait a second it says Ontario but you measured in inches....
Canadians use both the Imperial system of measurement, where things are measured in feet, inches, pounds, ounces, and the Metric system of measurement that succeeded the decimalised system based on the metre introduced in France in the 1790s. We are very flexible that way.
I have done very similar with Woodprix designs.
Stodoys plans is nice for that.
woodprix is full of awesome tips. Very helpful to me. Thanks
