Haven't watched your video for a long time. Just came here and can't believe I have a similar shirt LMAO 😂 I think KL suits you. You shall have Shorts.
Same thoughts. I hope he come back to Vietnam etiher HCM or Hanoi. I live in KL but the vibe in Vietnam is more enjoyable to watch especially the populated street bikes.
I miss Vietnam, as well. But my tourist visa expired and I didn't have a choice but to leave. As often happens with me, I went a bit overboard in Vietnam when I was recording videos, particularly when I first arrived in Ho Chi Minh City. And I recorded so much video, that I needed far too much time to edit and upload them. I struggle with finding the right balance between living life and recording experiences on video and then editing those videos. I always underestimate how much time will be required for editing and uploading. 😭 When I left Vietnam and returned to Malaysia, I still had a backlog of 20 or more videos from Vietnam that I hadn't edited yet. The plan was to hunker down in Malaysia and edit all those remaining Vietnam videos as fast as possible. And then return to Vietnam. But I figured I might as well record some of my daily life in Malaysia as I get my laptop fixed and my various cameras fixed, etc. The idea was to keep those Malaysia videos very simple and edit them on my smartphone and not spend a lot of time on them. They would just be simple vlogs about daily life. So, basically, I'm going back and forth between completing the last of the videos from Vietnam and posting random and simple videos about daily life in Malaysia. For various reasons, editing the Vietnam videos has been going more slowly than I'd hoped. I couldn't work on them for a while because my laptop was broken. And then I moved from Kuala Lumpur down to Port Dickson. That took a few days to take care of and get settled. And then I suddenly had to find a new home in Port Dickson. And I'm back in Kuala Lumpur for a few days as things get organized. Meanwhile, Wi-Fi has been extremely slow or non-existent. I guess you could say that it has been a typical Planet Doug type of experience. 🤪 Anyway, I guess I'm saying that I will be posting more videos about my time in Vietnam. I just have to find the time to finish them. And in the meantime I'll also be posting simple vlog videos from Malaysia. Unfortunately, 90% of my time seems to be required just to get things like my laptop and my camera gear repaired. And since that is what I am doing every day, that's what I end up making videos about. And I'll also be posting my normal breakfast videos from Malaysia. It's true that I seem to be putting together a series of breakfast videos. You'll just have to skip those. I'm actually meeting my friend Daryl this morning for another special breakfast. I'll probably record some video about it. I figure why not? 😎
DG Color - yes I brought you there before probably last year 😁 btw I really enjoyed this breakfast plus coffee session perhaps because of the rain and cool temperature to compliment our great conversations that day.
The memory of that previous visit eventually came back to me. I remember that we asked the about the (then) new GoPro "Boom" mount. And they were going to look into it and give you a call. I assume they never called? Yes, it was a great coffee/breakfast/conversation morning. The rain kept the temperatures down, which was nice.
Be careful when you are in Jalan Masjid India neighborhood. A second sinkhole has appeared just 50 metres away from the first one that appeared a week ago, on the same road. An Indian tourist just fell into the sinkhole. The area has been cordonned off on the same road. SAR operations have not been successful.
I've been following the stories online. The two sinkholes that I know about are actually very close to a couple of restaurants that I visit regularly. I'll definitely be careful as I walk around that area.
I thought the audio sounded nice, too. I was pleased with that. And the video quality was also pretty good. Overall, the video from a camera like this has to look better than the video from an action camera. And it usually does. It's just a question of all the other challenges I talked about. You have to wonder if that improved video quality is worth the effort of using a camera like this. Of course, it would be nice if the autofocus was better and the field of view was wider. Those are my two main concerns with this Olympus camera and the lens I was using.
No, I don't have all of them anymore. I had a collection of Olympus and Panasonic lenses, but I bought them mainly for photography. Ever since I switched to shooting video, I haven't had as much use for them. A couple years ago, I traded some of them in for other gear. Right now, I still have the Olympus 12mm. That's what I was using in this video. And I have the Olympus 45mm. But that's it.
I'm working on plans to return to Vietnam. I think I would enjoy completing the trip up the coast to Hanoi as I originally planned. And there might be an opportunity to visit Sarawak and maybe Sabah as well. Fingers crossed about that...
It would become more interesting if U could start the video with the footage of roaring lion or something like it as we always used to see it at the opening of the movies with both the visual as well as the audio not just on the end of the vlog only that sometimes it could takes hours to conclude Mr. Doug please..😅
That's one of the themes of my life. I almost always seem to need a haircut. 😀 Going to a barbershop always feels like such a chore. And, oddly enough, being in a hot climate contributes to how long it takes for me to finally do it. Whenever I see a barbershop and think that I should get a haircut, I am usually out walking around doing something, and I'm hot and sweaty and uncomfortable. So I don't want to inflict myself on some poor barber. For me to get a haircut, I have to do it first thing in the morning when I'm still feeling fresh and non-sweaty. And I just never get around to it... I keep procrastinating...
I haven't heard anything in the news about that. As far as I know, they are still looking. They had to stop the search I think because of new heavy rains. But they started up again and haven't had any success.

Q : Do you mean that the GoPro camera cannot be zoom in or out at will (with auto focus) while you are taking videos ? When I said that about the GoPro, I was thinking about two things in particular. One is that the GoPro can't focus so close. I believe the minimum focusing distance of the GoPro Hero 12 is about 12 inches (30 centimeters). So you have to hold the GoPro at least 12 inches away from you subject. And then the video is very wide. You can't get a close-up. You can't use a GoPro to zoom in on food and get sharp video like that. The video will be blurry and out of focus. In fact, a camera like the GoPro doesn't really focus at all. It is set to kind of have everything in focus all the time. There is no focus ring or focusing ability at all. The other thing is that GoPro video won't look as nice. GoPros are designed to take that kind of video. I used my hand phone 📱 to take videos and does not own any cameras but thinking of buying one. I've been using my phone more and more myself lately. It's much better at taking close-up video of food than a GoPro. The only problem with that is then I have to go through another step to download video from my phone somehow and save it. It starts to get even more complicated when you have video from a GoPro AND from your smartphone and you have to keep track of it all and edit it together. But a smartphone definitely is better than using a GoPro in those situations. Q: I heard somewhere that Gropro is not good at taking street view videos at night with streets light conditions, 🤔 what is your opinion? I think that is true. GoPros are NOT very good in low light. The video becomes full of noise and is quite grainy and bad. GoPros work best during the daytime when there is lots of light. If you wanted to use an action camera at night, the other brands are probably a better choice. The DJI Action 4 and the Insta360 Ace Pro are both much better in low light situations than a GoPro. But at the same time, I don't worry about it that much. If you take video at night, I like it if the video looks dark. it is supposed to be dark because it is night time and the video matches what my eyes see. Cameras like the Insta360 Ace Pro and the DJI Pocket 3 are so good at low light that they practically make it look like the sun is shining. BUT that isn't what it actually looked like at the time. So, it isn't natural video anymore. I kind of like it when night time video actually looks like it was shot at night and everything is dark. That's what I saw with my eyes at the time. The Pocket 3 can make it much brighter and clearer, but in a way that isn't real video. It doesn't capture what it actually looked like at the time. Does Digital video cameras have "⏸️ pause" function while taking videos when there are parts that one know that will be cut away or delete ? Yes, it's possible, but it's a rare feature. That is kind of a new feature that was introduced with the Insta360 Ace Pro. I don't think the GoPro Hero 12 can do that. I'm not sure about the DJI Action 4. But I know for sure that the Ace Pro has that feature. It might be the only one so far. I hope some of my answers helped you a bit. 👍
