To me that would depend on how "all in" you want to go with that style of play. If we are defining "pace" as the number of possessions in a game, both offense and defense play a role in that, especially if you play without a shot clock. If you want to generate maximum pace (more possessions in a game), an aggressive defensive mindset would surely help with that. You wouldn't want your opponents to slow the pace of the game when they have the ball.
