@@mistygeezofficial your comment makes the most sense, thought the same, also that traditional drum pattern initially is inspired by another genre from Angola called “Kizomba” where style like zouk stems from as such, the initial drum pattern still lacked a little to fully have that african afrobeat sounnd to it and usually afrobeat instrumentals the drum pattern are simple more focus is added on the melody and counter-melody plus accompaniments
Yooo Jay man!! You craaazy!! I watched almost all of your videos! You really REALLY helped me with everything. Especially drill type beats. Thanks a LOT for that 🙏
this sounds like one of those songs used in those videos where someone record their vacations and it's like super chill and super party at the same time hahah
This is a great attempt! You have a good ear for the essential ingredients. Just one thing: this isn’t afrobeat . You need a kick every bar to actually drive this. At 4:45 (the drum section) you actually got it right and then changed your mind 🙃
Jay..the beat z fire😊😊 It has the hiphop touch....and even any random Afrobeat producer will noe the beat was made overseas...just as you the drill mandem can say this drill beat was not made in uk...but africa...i thnk there is jus a slight dffrnce that is always felt and i dont noe why....i always try to make my drill beats sound more Uk like....but🤣 the african touch is still there
mannn youre legit real nice with it. came here coz i havent done afrobeat before, your instincts are a1. i dont even fuck with drill but you got a subscriber.
I love this guy's work, an amazing personality, chilled and humble. The only producer I've messaged and said he would be happy to push music from my country 😤 mix with English. Been a fan and always will 🇦🇺 🇿🇼. This is damn sick as always
Good job. The soul of every Afrobeat song is the back and forth between the bass and the bass drum (kick) accentuated by a subtle melody that acts as the theme of the song. Samklef (the Nigerian producer who practically invented this genre) spoke about this a few times. I feel like you should have made the bassline more groovy and then added a simple Synth melody. Thought you were going to do that with the vocal synthesiser you used (which brought a smile to my face), but then you didn't.

Invented? 😂 Have you ever heard of fela kuti, Sarz, d bankmj, don jazzy or lagbadja?
Amazing job on this track, if and when you another Afro beat track, use the advanced step sequencer option, and use Euclidean. The channel Inflight Muzik has a tutorial on using this option, the number sequence how to use it. Doing this creates interesting Afro beat type poly rhythms
As an afrobeat producer, I am excited to see you try your hands on a genre I love to make so much. 🔥❤
Any tips on how to make afro beats.. I really love the sound it's just got me confused
@@jaysmt you need to have a good 👍 chord progression first

That’s not afrobeat
That’s dance hall
But it sounding good 🔥🔥🔥
How he arranged the kicks first made it an afrobeat..buh he changed it .. it lacks a whole of African sounds .

Is a afrobeat from the first snare pattern
Afro-Danechall💥
Afrobeat usually has polyrhythm , it'd be good to try and include that.
