Overall, a solid performer on the AM band. A worthy consideration if you want to explore the Shortwave Band as well.

I honestly never thought of RadioShack Shortwave radios ever, until just now.
Too bad 👎 Radio Shack is gone. These radios 📻 are destined 👌 to be vintage. Your friend, Jeff.
Hej Todderbert thanks for the video and the bandscan this RadioShack radio seams very nice take care Todderbert.
I’ve discovered a medium wave DXing strategy I haven’t heard mentioned anywhere. I call it critical hours tuning. In this strategy I tune for stations with daytime and critical hours power output that I might be able to receive, such as 50KW daytime power within a few hundred miles or 25KW during critical hours. If, for instance, I tune 840 AM half an hour before sunset in Myrtle Beach, SC, I can receive WCEO, a 50KW daytime only station from Columbia, SC that I wouldn’t be able to get during daytime broadcast hours, and once it shuts down at sunset I can’t tune it in at night.
It is a fun way to hear stations you normally wouldn't catch. My schedule is better in the winter months to chase the critical hours strategy.
Does it work pretty ok w/o the added 'loop' antenna with it's own antenna? Your turning it for reception. U said you're in basement in last. Just checking things out.
It needs the loop for weak daytime signals. I'm in a sub floor basement when filming all of my videos. I do FM testing upstairs near windows. The sub floor is a RFI free zone mostly.
