Today is the 7th day of our PIP watch for Egg#1, and 1st day for Egg#2. I decided to note the dates on the first frame so we can all keep an objective mind. I understand most of us are anxious to see (all) the eggs hatch. It is very hard to stay calm. We can only pray for God's miracle to grant Jackie and Shadow the successful hatching of this clutch.
Because we are invested/concerned for J&S, we feel the rolling emotions of their day-to-day journey. I find myself praying for them. Yesterday, I cried for Shadow and Jackie's health. Today, I gasped and held my breath twice when the eggs were left exposed. While we do not want to marginalize our emotions for these majestic raptors, we can elevate the burden to the One who created them, since He said, He bends down to listen to our prayers.
Let's all take a deep breath, inhale, exhale, and rouse like our beloved Bald Eagles. This should help restore our calm heart and mind.

Meantime, I will be spending more time with my day job, and may post updates every 3 days or so. Thank you so much for watching, for liking, and for subscribing. I will catch up with your comments soon. God bless you abundantly. Much gratitude and affection to you ❤️🙏🏼🐣🐣🐣🦅🦅.
Shadow is here guys thanks god🙏🏼❤
Oh Jackie, i pray for your Chicks. I Hope they all will hatch❤ I am looking every day from Germany🦅🦅🥚🥚🥚 from First day they we're back at their Nest.💋😍😘

Thank you for sharing that. ❤❤
AWESOME ❤ thank you so much for sharing ❤😊

I have to say, " if this hatch is not successful, it surely won't be due to any fault of Jackie nor Shadow. They are awesome!".
My prayers to Jackie and Shadow and the triplets!❤❤❤❤❤
I agree with you. However it’s making me wonder if there isn’t something in their environment causing it. Water, Fish contamination? This has happened before to other eagles in a different area in the past. It made their shells too soft, so it does affect the eggs.
Rachel Carson: Silent Spring.😒
Unfertilized eggs are the result of the male not doing his job during mating. Not making the love connection, so to speak. We know Shadow can father eaglets...
@@CatBirdFemme Out of curiosity I asked the web about the number of successful hatches these two have had. They’ve/Jackie laid 14 eggs and successfully hatched 5 of them. Makes you wonder why so little success.

I love eagles. They are wonderful parents to their chicks. Not long until they hatch now. I love the pictures they’re brilliant and beautiful It’s a real honour to see the. Eagles. Thanks for sharing..🦅
God bless you ❤
Jackie was agitated today, restless and very worried about Shadow, I do hope & pray there chicks are alive and born soon....there such great parents for huge birds, so gentle with the eggs and attentive...let's hope the night goes well , night and thanks for sharing
You don’t know that. It’s nature and instinct get a grip
There's still time
As a mom my heart is in the nest with her..and waiting for Shadow.
I am praying.❤

Such a relief to read a perspective of Faith and recognition of our Creator! Thank you. I too pray and place trust that Our Father who created these majestic creatures knows what is in store for them. 💗
Praying for a successful season this year. After all they have been through they so deserve it❤
❤AMEN❤
Watching in anticipation from Nottingham in the UK. I hope Shadow is okay as together, they make a wonderful couple to bring up their offspring. Fingers crossed that at least one egg hatches.❤
This comment is more realistic, I don't see how 3 chick's can grow in this type of nest , looks small to me plus. The food amounts 3 chick's will need is no JOKE. Amd the food competition between them will be something else , like it always is , especially with the last or smaller chick , especially here the younger one will be 1 week and a half younger than the first born , that spells trouble to me. If this are your typical eagle offsprings. But we will wait and see , I'm just saying FOLKS.
Hi @lisameakin1, thank you for watching J&S along with us ❤ and thank you for your hopes and prayers for this pair ❤
Thank you. 😊🌻 Watching with all and hope and pray every thing is alright. ❤
❤🙏🏼same here🙏🏼❤️
Tears are running down my cheeks.please dear God
Why are people so melodramatic about raptors, I don't understand, there's enough of them in the wild , the food competition , in some locations is fierce. So why ,all the drama. If some don't hatch. This pair , probably know better , than humas , maybe not enough food in this area to sustain too many eagles. And they keep their numbers low , common sense everybody
@@fidelaromo6705 I don't know why people are so asinine that all they do is have to knock something that other people enjoy and have a compassion for. In other words that is what seperates People from the rest of the animal kingdom. So if you don't like it move on, as your comments are unwanted or needed.

Thank you for the dates. They come in handy for watching J & S. Really excited to see the outcome. These 2 are adorable to watch. ❤
I also was wondering when eggs were laid. So pleased she posted dates.😊
It's only approx, at least to calm our nerves down 😊
I've written down the dates for a handy reference! THANK YOU! I just got my eagle calendar from FOBBV yesterday! Oh, what stunning pictures! Folks, if you haven't gotten the calendar, go grab it! It's more than just 12 images! Each page has three or four smaller images as well, AND hatching and fledging dates for all of the Big Bear eagles! It's a wonderful resource! I love it!
Same here 😊❤️
I hope, that everything is going to be okay G.Z. from Czech 🇨🇿
I am honestly shocked that not one of the eggs has pipped. I feel so badly for J&S.
So beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you for watching and overlooking the errors 😊 ❤🙏🏼
I'TS not over yet, its in Gods hands amen
AMEN❤
Can someone explain why the eggs are being left alone frequently lately? These two were so diligent about switching places before and lately it seems there are lapses of time when neither of them are on them.
Shadow looked under the weather when he was not responding to Jackie's calls. I observed he had such a low energy and immediately zonked out as he pancaked in the nest. My assumption got stronger when Jackie did not boot him out, instead preened his wing feathers before she left.
Thanks Nonnie, great work. Love the overlays. 🙂
Thank you so much for overlooking the errors 😊🙏🏼❤️
@@TavisolaMBARealtor I meant overlays as in the wording on/over the videos. Comments on and as the video plays the videos you all recorded. No errors I saw ALL GOOD have a grear weekend
Jackie and Shadow are such a beautiful couple; they'd make great parents. It seems they've done everything as close to perfect as they could to keep their precious eggs safe and warm. I'm still very hopeful they'll have at least one successful egg. I'm also reminded that it takes everything from conception through the whole incubation process to go almost perfectly for eaglets to happen. If unfortunately they aren't viable, it has to have something to do biologically that they have no control over because they have done an excellent job at protecting and incubating those precious eggs! Trying to stay positive and I'm praying for this little family.
❤AMEN❤
Love these 2❤
The FOBBV Live Recap site stated that was SHADOW who did the coming and going all day, NOT Jackie.
I did say I may have mislabeled them. I fastforward and have missed some COGs.
@Nonie Tavisola
Your story, it’s beautiful. He who created IS the Almighty One. And it is He who makes these decisions in nature.
Thank you so much for giving God the credit for these magnificent creatures. Too many people today are afraid to say what you did. They fear being outcast. I want to be outcast from those who will not believe. I pray for ALL the eagles that I watch. I can’t get to each and every one of them every day. I live in Northern California and we have our own pair that I am dedicated to. Although Guardian is only about 8-10 yrs old, the female, Liberty is almost 30 yrs old this season. She has been nesting here for about 24 years; outlived 2 previous mates; and raised somewhere around 30 fledglings. She’s amazing. Please pray for them too. We are so very blessed each year that Liberty returns to the Sacramento River to nest. The season she does not return will be forever sad. But we know Guardian will continue to nest here and the cycle will go on.
Bless Jackie and Shadow. Bless every creature and being in His great plan. And bless you for speaking your faith. 🙏🏼

Congratulations to you and your family. I know you are over the moon and back!😅
So happy for you ❤ it’s fun to spoil them ❤❤❤❤
Congratulations!!❤

It's disappointing that they don't zoom in on the eggs any longer. They have chat closed, Facebook closed so how is zooming on the eggs going to create drama? The channel creates more drama by shutting everyone out. Everyone sat by their screens for over a month but a few people (out of thousands) got understandably excited so they shut it all down? Gosh...
Yea, seems like a bunch of old control freak ladies in charge...
I read that Shadow isnt jackie's first husband. She was with an eagle named Mr. B. One day Shadow came upon jackie and Mr. B's nest. They were feeding their little eaglet at the time. Shadow wouldn't leave even though Jacki, Mr. B and even the baby tried to chase him away for days. Finally one day, Mr. B left, and that's how Jackie and Shadow became a couple.
😂
Yeah, Jackie made a change in husbands.
That was a fact ❤😁❤️
This is so sad. Such hard work for 2nd season with no chicks.
Ive been watching daily since early February and heartbroken for them.
Just keep praying for this amazing couple and the triplets. That's all we can do!
They are trying n g so hard and doing everything they can!❤❤❤❤❤
They didn't lose their babies
I feel you. Let's keep our hopes up, and believe for a miracle 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for this.... Normally watch at work but yesterday didn't afford me the opportunity
I understand, @Stephanielaur9257. Same boat here. Work is demanding my attention so 03/08 would be my last video of J&S.
Can't wait they look done to me.😅❤
Maybe if you can't tell Jackie and Shadow apart you shoud check the document from FOBBV where are all events on nest written before posting a video with wrong information. From 6:24 am to 9:41 am it was Shadow who was on the nest and again from 13:41 pm
I did say I maybhave mislabeled the two because I was fast-forwarding the videos.
my bday is 3-10...would be cool if at least one hatched on sunday.
Yes, that would definitely be awesome!
I hope we do not get our hearts broken again this year.
Same thoughts and feelings here.
I'm so worried about them...the weather is not cooperating.

Does anyone what happened to Shadow? Hope he is ok! ❤😊
He looked under the weather the other day, but I believe he's shaken it off. 🙏🏼❤️.
Silent Spring
I hope shadows OK he needs to come back
He's back 😊❤️
Hozho, I think shadow knows something, Jackie is mommy - does not give up, a sweet mama,
Jackie actually is the one who gave up first last season. Shadow continued to try and incubate after she distanced herself from the nest. I'm not too confident with the first egg that she laid from this clutch hatching. She was very restless and agitated and left the egg exposed to the freezing temps for 4 hours during the night while she stood next to it sleeping. The following night she did the same exposing the egg for another 2-3 hours. Only Jackie knows why she did that 😕. Hoping it all works out though, miracles do happen. 2 seasons in a row with no chicks would be so sad 💔.
@@LvLove518I think the moderators have stated that when after an egg is laid the egg will not be incubated if there is a second egg on its way to delay incubation so the eggs hatch closer together.
Such a long incubation for the eggs, these birds must have an inbuilt calander
Yup ❤
I have suspected for the last few seasons this pair has a fertility problem. It looks like these eggs will not hatch again! Sad, but that is nature.
Let's keep our hopes and prayers up for J&S. Weather is a great factor
❤❤❤
Where is Shadow? Hope he gets back soon.
He's back ❤ he looked under the weather but has shaken it off and is now back in full swing 🙏🏼

I recently read that 40 days to pip is longest recorded, by a professional.
Well today is actually day 38 due to delayed incubation so let's keep our 🤞.
@@RonTDBhow does delayed incubation work? How does the egg survive outside without warmth? Fascinating to learn so much from this😊
@@lisamoreo7253 Your guess is probably as good as mine. As cold as it was when they were laid 4 days apart I agree you would think not incubating egg #1 then egg #2 in cold temperatures would be a bad idea but who's to tell a experienced eagle what to do as i'm sure they know what they are doing. If this batch isn't successful I wonder if they are mating to early cause the temps there have been cold since they they laid them.
@@RonTDBI watch a channel where they show the entire process. I believe he has gotten eggs from the store then somehow got them to hatch. I think that would also be some sort of "delayed incubation".
I believe that. Sandy Steers (FOBBV Exec Dir, biologist) also noted J&S has 38-42, days average for a PIP.
It’s not very often I’ve seen them leave the eggs exposed. Shadow…where are you?
He's back 😊
I’ve been wondering what is happening to shadow and him being away so much. Concerned for them
I observed he may have been under the weather because of his low energy, his non-response to Jackie's calls, and his immediate zonk-out as soon as he pancaked. Jackie did not boot him out when she came back. Instead, she preened his wing feathers before she left, giving Shadow a longer time for full rest.
I wonder if Ben Franklin would have changed his opinion about the moral character of eagles if he was able to watch the live feed.
In my opinion, I don’t think so.
What happened 2 shaddow? Today was the only day I got 2 watch almost all day but I never saw shadow. Maybe i missed something. I did c Jackie leave the nest tho. 🙏🙏🙏's❣️
Shadow was there in the beginning at about 2:05.
Shadow is close by the nest. He comes in. ❤
I think Jackie looks hungry to me. I wish Shadow would bring her something to eat while she's sitting on the nest hours. 🤔
He does. He was specially romantic yesterday (03/08), and funny, too.
New to so much of this but have been following J&S since last year. Is there a chance eggs can be laid but NOT fertilized??
That is what the National Eagles Center said. To their surprise, they have two females with no partners who laid eggs... one of them has been in captivity for 4 years and the other 2 years, if I remember it correctly.
Where is Shadow? Any updates on him? Ty🦅❤
He's back. He just did a surprise romantic antics on Jackie last night (03/08).
Will it be a repeat of last year?
Kinda looking like it. No Chick's Hatched
I hope not 😢🙏🏼🙏🏼 praying for a miracle.
I feel Jackie is giving up.
Not yet. She was agitated.
Thw question is what day did they start incubating any of these with the regularity needed to start the first egg to start growing the embryo? Thats the day we should be counting from. Unfortunately, i only started watching after all 3 were getting incubated normally already.
If memory serves me right, I think Jackie delayed for 3-5 days on-off. Experts made some extrapolation and calculations. I cannot do math, so I kept it simple - day of laid, PIP Date, Hatch Date, and the 45-stretch waiting for a miracle to happen.
I think these eggs may have gotten stick, beak or talon damage at at an unfortunate time in the embryo's development. I hope I am wrong but I don't feel positive about what I have been seeing on the eggs in closeups.. Hoping for the best outcome though.
3:10... Does that egg have feathers sticking out that lil hole? I noticed it yesterday but figured feathers were stuck to it but now it does look like a lil hole....edit....ok, they are obviously cracking. And I thought it was just my eagle eye catching that, I'm so stupid.
There is feathers and looks like a hole ?
Saw that , definitely looked like a hole to me
Does anyone watching know the expected date of the eggs hatching?
Sandy Steers of FOBBV knows.
Google says it takes up to 35 days for bald eagle eggs to hatch
The timeline on the site shows 45 days
Sandy Steers (FOBBV Exec Dir, biologist) stated in several of her TV News interviews that J&S averages 38-42 days. 45 days is a "stretch."
In distress.
My guess is the eggs arent viable.. almost 40 days since they were laid.. not looking good
Never give up on Jackie and Shadow until they tell you to!
From what I understand, the eggs, where its 1,2,or 3 are still viable!
Pray!❤❤❤❤❤
We are all praying for a miracle 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
WHERE is Shadow? Now im worried. That sad music being played when Jackie is looking for him makes me want to cry😢
Shadow is back 😊
How do they know exactly what to do to plan ahead and protect those baby’s eggs for survival. It’s almost as if an invisible hand has equipped them with that instinct knowledge.😎
💯‼️. You are so spot on, @carolforrest9218 ❤
I have read that incubation period is more like 38-40 days. Is that not correct?
I would defer to Sandy Steers (FOBBV), American Eagle Foundation, National Eagles Center, Alaska Raptor Center for the answer. 😊
Greetings and blessings be unto you. How may I reach you?
Hi @patrickbell1044. Nonnie(@)Tavisola(dot)com 😊
I wonder if Jackie is leaving the eggs to look for Shadow.
Maybe. She left agitated. Sandy Steers (FOBBV) mentioned in her TV News interviews that visiting eagles or even ravens may cause Jackie to get agitated.
Do the eggs tell Jackie when it is time to rotate?
instinct 😊
Where did Shadow go for so long?
It looked like he was under the weather at that time, but he is now back in full swing.
What does pip mean?🤔
PIP - a tiny hole, crack from inside. This is an indicator that a chick will be hatching in 2-3 days. National Eagle Center has quite a number of educational articles about the eagles.
*_has shadow been seen?_*
He was there in the beginning at about 2:05.
Yes, Shadow's back in full swing. He looked like he was under the weather but is now fully recovered 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Counting the minutes isn't making since to me. 14:48 time stamp eggs are in a cluster by the time stamp 14:59 they are in a row so clearly she came back to the nest or Shadow did? So why did you miss this?
It's called Day Job. I did say that I fast-forwarded the videos and may have missed, therefore mislabeled the two. These videos were originally compiled for my own personal collection but chose to share with those who love J&S. Compiling and editing on the go is hardly a precision job.
Was Jackie looking for Shadow when she left??
She may have been.
Worried that shadow is astray!
He's back 😊. He may have been under the weather, but he is back now.
Is this an old video because last night they got a ton of snow dumped on them and were covered in snow again this morning
Time Stamp at the bottom (FOBBV banner) should confirm it.
18:41 looks like the egg is cracked
no confirmation of it from FOBBV.
Where’s Shadow? She’s losing interest in her eggs. If they don’t pip soon she may abandon them. My parrots shows the same restlessness near thirty days.
She won't abandon them until it is way past time for them to hatch. She waited until day 53 one year when she had a clutch that didn't hatch.
@@mygirldarby Awww! That's so beautiful and sad. ❤😢
@@mygirldarby that’s true, for my breed of parrot hatch day is around thirty days. It still amazes my how just all of a sudden she leaves the nest done with it.
Not yet. Jackie looked agitated, though.
How do they know the eggs are not viable, and what do they do.
In 2023, J&S brooded for 53 days before abandoning the egg.
These eggs are toast.

How old is Jackie? Does age and environmental factors play a role in whether or not eggs will hatch? Let’s take a guess. Is it possible Jackie is laying infertile eggs? Fact- This nest was built years ago, by other eagles, in an extremely harsh mountain environment. It’s similar to eagles building a nest and laying eggs in the middle of winter in Alaska. The nest is poorly constructed. There was very little insulation added to this nest before the eggs were laid. The eggs endured a very bad snow storm. Just like last year’s eggs. Last years eggs never developed. The eggs were empty and hollow when eaten by ravens. The eggs were duds which may have more to do with Jackie’s age than physical environment.
Jackie is only 12. She is not old by bald eagle standards. They reach maturity around 4-5 years of age, and breed well into their 20’s. Shadow is a couple of years younger than Jackie. They have had eggs hatch before
Harriet of SWFL Nest laid and hatched her 2023 clutch successfully before she disappeared and never returned after she chased an intruder. Harriet was 27yo, if memory serves me right.
Doesn't look good.
very few closeups these past couple days - thanks to all those who ruined this beautiful experience by creating videos with pips everywhere and causing negative drama.
