Dick was mesmerizing on his Night Light show on WBZ Boston in the mid sixties. He did the late over night show following another WBZ legend, Bruce Bradley. I had a tree house around 1964 and would listen to him on a Remco Crystal Radio with its antenna strung to another tree. Dick was always spot on for a great content program. RIP..............

Dick was a gentleman and wonderful broadcaster. “Loving Touch” are a series of books he wrote in the early 70’s that were romantic and sentimental. He would often read some on his show. He had a weekly contest called “Mouth vs. Ear”. A sort of trivia game between him ( the mouth) and the audience (the ear). I don’t remember if he even bothered to give away prizes. His long time engineer was Vic Lombardo. He worked most nights in his stocken feet, with the lights dimmed. Very laid back. An easy- going style.
    RIP.

The "NBC News on the Hour" voice sounds like Michael O'Neil (1932-2006) under a pseudonym ("Mike Neil"), as he was working for UPI Radio at the time (and, later, would have a nearly 13-year stay at 1010 WINS, mostly as MOH [middle-of-the-hour] AM drive anchor [from :20 to :40, between Paul Smith and Jim McGiffert up to 1988, and followed until his early '93 retirement by Judy DeAngelis]).
As to Dean Meminger heard after that update - wasn't this one and the same as who later anchored at NY1 News?

I don't think so. I think this guy played basketball for the New York Knicks, after a college career at Marquette University.

Any airchecks of him playing Donna Summer's (no relation, but likewise a Boston native) "Love To Love You Baby"? If there are, talk about ironic . . .
