Getting out of an investment or a trade shouldn't be something left to chance. In time a stock might not continue to perform as you would like or thought it would. For these scenarios, one might consider using a stop loss to exit. Other times you may want to use a target as an exit point and a stop. We'll examine many scenarios and where one might consider putting on the stop and how different stop loss types act including a trailing stop loss.
