This is proof that we are paying too much for “real” golf clubs. I’m logging into DHgate and ordering some new clubs. I’ve had real Taylormade irons break on me just like the one on the video.

But why should someone/company who doesn’t put in the R&D and uses (falsely) a major company’s/OEM’s reputation to push their “junk” on unsuspecting customers???
If it’s sooooo good (and cheaper), why not just rename the club and sell it??? Why try and trick people??

Glad I was just fitted with Callaway copies of the new rouge heads, carbon fiber shafts that fit my swing and real tacki-mac grips. I think they were hoping to say how bad the copies were but looked foolish when the copies are just as far, ball speed the same and most all the other stats are very close. Even when the head flew off, that was the fathest one hit! The only negatives were "they sound louder and don't feel as good", yeah? well for hundreds of dollars less, most of us can live with that...I know will. I wonder if they do this again, will they try it before recording.

I’ve had name brand high end clubs come apart too. Clean out the hosel and add epoxy. It goes right back together. Plus you could see that this club was sliding off of the shaft before they did the test. There was a clear gap between the hosel and the ferrule.

As a plus 30 year clubmaker(Retired), if one would do a little research we would find that the major foundries in China are making golf clubs for most of the major brands and also the "fake" brands. I sell clubs that are made by competent manufacturers and I check the weight of each and every component. I also check the iron shafts, wood shafts whether they be graphite or steel and to make sure they have the correct cpm's by using a frequency analyzer.. Now having said all that realize your clubs are coming from either mainland Communist China or either free Taiwan. whether they are fake or not they are coming from these regions of the world some of these "fake" clubs are being made in the same foundry that makes the clubs for the major brands with the same specs. So I am not as adamant on whether they are fake or real as to do they perform and do they meet the specs that the manufacturers say they meet. For an example All shafts are not stiff and to prove that point their is no industry standard for determining the stiffness of a shaft. They're so many factors in gauging a shaft for each individual golfer. The bend point (flex point) tip stiffness, butt stiffness , zoning of the shaft soft center, stiff center, I can go on and on. This doesn't take in each individual golfer who may swing 90 MPH, but one could be smooth throughout the swing while the other golfer may have a quick transition. So a huge reason to get fitted and to be aware of the price that you are paying for this fitting . Don't get snookered! For tools I use mostly Golf Mechanix products which are also distributed in America by Golfworks. These tools help insure that a customer is getting the best performing club possible. I can safely say that most retail outlets don't even come close to any clubmaker. They (the big golf companies) throw the club together, glue it and cut it to industry standards and it is sold at your box stores. It is possible that 2nd swing and other major retail outlets have competent people working at their stores and they would be able to perform all of these services . Last rant I promise most of the drivers put out by all the major golf companies are fitted too long for the average golfer. They can't find the middle of the face with a 45 inch driver so why does the industry push a longer shaft to get more club head speed? If you don't hit the middle of the face you are adding spin and losing a tremendous amount of distance especially on heel shots. So I am an advocate of 43 1/2 to 44 1/2 inch drivers and leaving the box stores to their over hyped and overpriced golf clubs and now with the CNC machining and CAD programs this industry will change and the everyday consumer will benefit.

I'd love to see you guys gather up all the counterfeit drivers you have and do a drver bracket with them just for giggles. Old, new, cheaper, expensive, doesn't matter.

How to release the club on the down swing: @8:30. Proof it does not happen near P5 for early cast. I've been struggling with timing, and looking for tips. Thanks Thomas for showing how it is done. And Thanks Drew for standing safely.

I had a poorly reshafted PW head fly off on me while at Top Golf. Luckily a guy in another bay saw the general direction that it flew so a worker could go get it.

Lefty's only advantage in the sport is that no one's bothering to make fake clubs for us. Buy without fear.
