It’s a testament to how far the pro scene has developed with DE that the phrase “DauT quickwalling” is completely normal and not immediately rejected as ridiculous
Just practice. For me I have palisade on a so it's always near a finger. The hard part IMO is selecting vills that can get to each bit in time (and not block each other on the way)
I like how DauT play with his deer like a cat plays with its food. The deer already knows it will never escape from the Lord and still has to participate the game.
it's so entertaining to watch hoang play, it sometimes seems like he doesn't even know what game he is playing but he's so fast at adapting to challenges
I honestly don't understand why Hoang is so highly rated. Not to be mean to the guy, but he's consistently shown that he crumbles quickly in the face of pressure, whereas most pros will at least put up some form of resistance.
He does have potential, but it's like you said. He needs to develop a mindset and think a little bit more outside _his_ box. Like trying new strategies.
I love Magyars for feudal play and late imp, but only on open maps. This really wasn’t the showcase of the civ that does it justice. However, that’s a Hoang game for you: always short for better or worse. Great game!
Sorta half watching and didn't see him introduce the players. Then noticed the deer lure around 3 mins while T90 is doing his early game spiel reel. Heard him mention Daut and was like, 'yep, red is Daut.'
I like to play Magyars in team games. Most people underestimate what 3-4 Mag-Hussars can do to their precious siege/trebs. Also scouts are kind of nice in early game. Nice vids. Thx
I love Magyars for exactly your reason listed. At low elo, people tend to overproduce spears in response to a scout rush, which makes it so much fun to go cav archer switch from hidden ranges
Is the entire month of April one giant April Fool's joke from the AoE2 community? Daut's now showing amazing micro. Hera's making AoE math videos. Spirit of the Law is casting low Elo legends videos.
I think Magyars are underrated. I’ve found that their scout rush is so powerful and can do so much damage due to the free attack upgrades. I also think they can be powerful late game when it comes to a trash war due to their unique unit which costs little gold and can be upgraded to cost no gold at all.
Magyar scouts into sneak archery ranges on maps with wolves can take games off great players. The archer LOS bonus helps with micro and finding villager picks too.
I really love Magyars in Black forest, because they have really early walling, so you can wall the opponents side of the Parh and go feudal age aggression
Magyars are underrated, in my opinion, they don't have economy bonus but your loom can wait because you kill animals with one hit, that's very strong if you want to build something forward in the beginning, they have strong cavalry, strong archery range, infantry only miss last plate armour, avarage but not poor siege. Uniq unit eats siege and can become trash unit.
Magyars are underrated, the free attack upgrade is insane, especially if you're drushing. Their unique hussars are also underrated. Send in 7 or so of them into an enemy eco and you will almost always get value.
And that's the downside of Hoang's playstyle. When everyone knows what you are going to do, they will start countering you. Specially when talking about the likes of Daut or Viper.
Magyars seem to be a civ that although doesn't have an eco bonus but if one can take the advantage of the bonus that they do have by playing really aggressive, they can possibly take the game to the end for which they have really solid units, arguably the best CA and hussar in the game. They must play with a lot of military in each stage of the game because they'll not be ahead in boom if they try to do so.
This was just Daut having fun. Daut could have gone with the safer option and he probably would have been fine, but that's boring. No, dive it to have a blast playing Hoang with a Hoang-style all in.
I love Magyars. Going scouts into knights is my preferred build, so the fact that I can ride these units (pun fully intended) into late Imp is really nice. They also have arguably the best trash unit in the game, but it doesn't end there. I can even go with the archer line and take it to Imp if necessary - and switch into CA whenever I can afford it, which are some of the best in the game as well. The +2 LOS isn't much, but that does qualify as above average archers for me since they also get all the upgrades. The only downside is the lack of eco bonuses (unless you're going scouts, of course), but I guess that is one big downside or pros would for sure be using this civ a lot.
Magyars are my favourite Civ, although i'm waaayyyyyy away from a decent or pro Player, sticking around 800-900 :D But i just started again after like 10-12 years with AoE trough DE and T90's as well as SpiritOfTheLaw's Videos :)
Magyars are one of my favorit civs ... magyar huszar are great to kill all siege of the enemy and you have great trash in late game withm mag. huszar and you have also full cav and archer tech so very versatile ... its good, that coques have a counter ... in hd i lost 50 elite skirm vs 20 conques ...
I once had a line of towers in my opponent's wood line in his base(hideout). One of my best games, I think I pulled some pretty sick quick walls to keep my vils an towers safe in his base. My towers were the mvp in helping our team win the game
hey T90, several days ago DauT tried the Krepost rush on MbL, playing as the Persians. It did not succeed, but it showed huge potential for dragging your opponent slowly. your thoughts on the Krepost rush - apart from ranked games, does it make sense to use it in a tournament?
I'm so glad they made Skirmishers counters to Conqs. I hated that unit so much in the Castle age, and now ther'es a efficient way to deal with them bastards.
I don't really get Hoang's play here. I get the idea of weird build orders but if your objective is to get a castle drop why going 23 pop up and then idle? I'm nowhere close to his skill level but still yesterday I got 14:50 castle age while having already 650 stone. He had the deers inside and everything... He could have done the already tight 25 pop build... Why going for 23 pop if you are going to idle your way up? Also making use of the market in a castle drop build doesn't make any sense because if you managed your eco properly your usual extra resource (stone) is actually part of the build. In an optimal fc castle drop every resource has to be just enough. He's one of the best players surely, but if he tried to use actual build orders he would not have had his first conqs at 18 minutes (crazy late)
I think that is what makes him fail sometimes, specially against bigger players. His tendency to over-invest on aggression rather than economy. Like for example how by Castle Age his eco is all over the place, not creating more villagers and instead focusing 100% on the forward attacks. Good for players who don't know it coming, but for someone who knows how to deal with the aggression, the tables turn against Hoang. Once the wave of military is cleaned up, Hoang has no chance to keep up with eco and the game is lost for him. Not following builds order can make you think outside the box and make you focus on other things, but players like Daut or Viper can very much do the same and still run a more efficient economy that makes them victorious on the long run.
@@alanbareiro6806 as much as everything you said is very correct still my doubt was about Hoang build order for fc. We saw it was very weird... But if he wouldn't have been rushed would have it been actually faster than a tight 25+2? Of course he got rushed which delayed him but still using the market is almost never a more efficient way to get the 800 food and 200 gold. The thing that actually make me wonder is why the stone and gold super early, from my experience for a fc castle drop is just good to send the last 5 vills 3 to stone and 2 to gold and when in feudal 2 more vill to stone. You can't really go wrong with this ratio and I never got less stone than 650 upon arriving in castle. I am honestly curious to see how fast he was thinking to do the castle drop, because if it is even faster than the 25+2 BO (which should be around 14:30 with optimal play) than it might be worth it. But in this case the super aggressive start seemed to not work because it actually was slower than a tight but more common build order
I feel like Magyars are pretty good but don't get enough recognition because they don't have any immediate eco bonuses. The free damage upgrade is so crazy though! And Magyar hussars only costing food rules
Magyars: They are one of my more frequent civs. Are they underrated? Probably. How? Well you see, Scrush is the most standard opening in the game, becuase it is pretty damn effective. If you are fast enough, your opponent is bound to make losses. Now imagine a scrush where your attack upgrade is free, your Scouts are nearly as cheap as villagers, and you have nothing but strong options in the early Castle Age to follow up. With Magyars you always have a clear blueprint what to do and despite this, it is hard to counter. That makes them strong. Have you tried an early Castle Age Knight push, but you use your excess food to mix in as much Light Cav as possible? Try it!
He'd have lost instantly if he tried that. Daut already had skirmishers out while Hoang had no military. By the time he got to Daut base, not only would he have fallen so far behind but it would have been a Daut Castle anyway, he had nothing to defend his villagers. Also he needed to clear the two towers still in his base to have access to his berries, he still had no food income at all.
Magyars are neither overrated or underrated IMO. They just never really see play by top level players because their are better civs that do what they do. Magyars are IMO the BEST civ in post imp with their unit options, because they have the best HCA, which you can keep safe to stop from losing gold units, and they also have the best trash unit in the game, which has a bonus vs rams (the usual counter vs lots of ranged units. The issue is that unless you are playing 30 minute truce, you never get to those options, as they have 0 eco bonuses. Chinese have a better sct>archers, same go for persians who then transfer back into knights, Huns have better sct>CA, same goes for mongols, indians, and even updated tatars. the thing with Magyars is that on most standard maps, if both players are at a similar level, then the magyar player will never get to their end game composition, as they are behind for the majority of the game

Our Lord and Saviour - DauT!
This is most hilarious comment I’ve read in sometime 😂😂😂
Where's our straggler trees math video T90?
it's so entertaining to watch hoang play, it sometimes seems like he doesn't even know what game he is playing but he's so fast at adapting to challenges
T90: "so what would be a different kind of yolo all-in? That would be Spanish, and that would be-"
Me: "Supremacy!"
T90: "... conquistadors."

DauT, the man who was a princess now evolves to devil.
He's a devil princess now.
Dauts quickwalling in this game was seriously impressive
11:07 Hoang, send three vills next to your piece of palisade and delete it, kill Daut's vill and avoid the third tower going up....
Probably he belived that Daut will outmirco him and quickwall downed wall.
Well, he was kinda tilting there
When we are watching, things look too easy to be done.
T90! I would love to see a tournament where instead of choosing which civs they want to play, they choose which civs their opponent chooses from.
... And that's why Daut is my fav. SO creative, you never know what to expect.
"I'm not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with me!" The game.
The moment he dropped that first siege workshop there especially with one vil, it was over. He might aswell surrendered here and there.
T90, the new overlay, I genuinely had to go back and rewatch most of this because I was enamored with the overlay! Blew my expectations away.
Man, Dauts deer lure were pain in the eye
Seriously it was difficult to watch, he just kept letting them get away
Daut is the most fun player to watch this days

Just Daut being Daut as always!

Beautiful overlay. Best I've seen!
