7:19 - Nagant was initially aiming for Deku’s phone to cut off communication and not him directly. Malicious intent has to be directed to him or another person in proximity for danger sense to activate. This particular feature will be important for later.
Fun trivia! Her name is a play on the Mosin-Nagant Russian rifle, which was used to great effect as a sniper rifle by the soviets in world War 2. I'm not sure if it was also intended but the first time the rifle saw proper conflict was the Russo-japanese war so her name could also be a nod to her status as a enemy/ traitor.

2:20, that’s actually a mistranslation, the line was supposed to mean “she shouldn’t be walking around at night looking like that”. They’re referring to her animal like appearance as a Heteromorph.
I’m curious if this was a mistake on the subs or indeed the anime ended up saying that.
@@DavyEddyBenny that’s what it said in the manga officials. And it seems lately that the English dub has been doing a better job at the dialogue being accurate to the source material.

Fun fact! If you go to that scene of protesters throwing things at the pros, you'll see a guy with antennas in the front left. He's the same guy who kicked Twice to the curb after he was involved in an accident, thus sending him down a mental spiral that eventually resulted in his death. How ironic it is, then, that he's angrily blaming the heroes for the villains' attacks.
The 2nd and 3rd users weren't heroes, they were soilders, Heroes Society is something only formed in recent decades, that's why they didn't support Deku, because the whole concept of "superheroes" and "supervillains" are too childish to them
I don't think they were even "soldiers" in the specific meaning of the word, bit something more like freedom fighters, resistance fighters, whatever term you want to use.
Nagants hair probably works like mineta's shes growing hair to replace it but probably has the same limit(head bleeding thing)
We don't know the details so far of Nagant having Overhaul tag along, but we can already see she an empathetic person to some extent, as she was the only one who took the time to release a person she heard struggling to escape while other villains ran away.
He also seems mentally vulnerable in his state. So partially that she could feel sorry for him. She was a former pro hero.
Biggest issue for hero society is that quirks are so dangerous that if EVERYONE uses their quirks, without hero training, it's going to be apocalyptic chaos. That's like everyone in American having weapons of all types at all times.
And we see how well that's worked out. Giving in to fear only creates more pain and destruction. There is a reason why people train to become heroes, so another Gentle Criminal accident doesn't happen
Totally agree with the gun /quirk comparison. It would make a lot of sense for there to be mandatory train on quicks even if they don’t join a hero course. I’m surprised society wasn’t in more chaos before this started with Shigaraki.
@@abi_corinne I think that's more to the manufactured hero society. If you had to choose between this, and hero society, I'm going with hero society. So random guy hoping to work on the train doesn't get road rage blast me with a cannon out of his mouth.

It should be noted that this was really the primary goal for the Meta Liberation Army. They wanted people to be free to use their quirks how they saw fit, whenever they wanted. I'd compare them to current US libertarians. Shigaraki and the gang are more like anarchists.
@@robertcampbell8070 I would agree with that. Even though Gentle Criminal showed how easily an untrained person with a quirk could get someone unalived, they wanted that right to freely use their quirks without consequences.

We’ve only seen so far the pretty face of this society overall but indeed as we saw with Spinner’s backstory there’s this discrimination towards the Heteromorph, to the people that barely resemble human.
@@abi_corinne If this is how these people treat civilians with non-human appearances, imagine how bad Spinner must have had it, or even Shoji in class 1A. Whether they're actual heroes or just civilians, they catch discrimination for their appearance. Not even fiction, it's social commentary. And the tall lady didn't even try to fight back, she was scared out of her mind. Those guys where just bigoted bullies.

As Banjo (the fifth) said when Blackwhip first appeared, the Quirks have gotten stronger after residing in One for All this long and the two guys who are turned away are the 2nd and 3rd wielder, so their Quirks have been in there the longest

2:18 the translation is wrong, what they actually said was "It's her fault to wander around looking like that", it's meant to show the racism towards Heteromorphic type Quirk has escalated after the war, which is something the series has been building up in the background quietly
From AFO's flashback in S5E1 to the entire backstory of Destro all shown how back in the days Quirks, especially Heteromorphic Quirks were discriminated against, and Spinner's backstory as well as people's microaggression towards him and characters like Shouji show how that discriminations still exist these days, even Creature Rejection Clan's existance is to show how violence it can get
And just a side note, remember how back in S3 Mt Lady said they weren't allowed to attack unidentified target? That's because heroes are regulated by the law, and are accountable for all of their action (in canon Mt Lady is in constant debt because of all the collateral damage her Quirk caused), the way these civilians just go around attacking people shows why heroes matter
Just wait the last 2 Quirks Deku will get are the most OP, specifically the second user (the red haired guy) a lot of crazy shit's gonna happen now that the resistance fighters/leaders have joined the fight

Did they draw the Second differently in the anime? It's been weird for me to see the reactions and nobody focusing on the fact that he's just like Bakugou. Manga readers went crazy with theories at the time. 😂😂
Those theories were so idiotic. So I’m glad most anime watchers are thinking he looks like Bakugo.
Looks like Deku is still hero worshiping All Might a bit to much, seems like he's starting to make the same mistakes All Might did. Which I think was the point of the Sir Nighteye flashback.
