Personally, I am more interested in foundation than any other aspect of makeup, probably because that's the most difficult thing to get right, and I particularly like your reviews because you seem to gravitate towards the same kind of healthy skin-like finish that I do. I know it is a lot of work for you, but please don't stop doing foundation reviews!
I’m 52 with dry skin and I absolutely love this foundation. I find that having a very hydrated base is key which makes it perform so beautifully. Also as the day goes on it just looks even better. Love this foundation👌🏼
I purchased this foundation after watching Tati speak about it. I wore it for the first time today and thought “ehh, it’s okay I guess” But after watching your video and hearing you explain how it is sensitive to what primer you use, I think I know where I went wrong! Thank you for going into such detail for us, it’s so appreciated!
Really appreciate that you take the trouble to show us the foundation in natural lighting, studio lights really give a very skewed impression as it looks very different in both! Much more realistic without the lighting. Nice foundation and great review, will have to try it out.

I know this is a foundation review versus a tutorial, but I appreciated it on so many levels. I’m 38 and thanks to aging and medicine for a severe blood clotting disorder - and did I mention the aging? - my need for skin care and makeup products has risen exponentially. I really didn’t have a place to start other than searching “simple makeup tutorial” and was feeling overwhelmed until the algorithm gods blessed me with this video. Finally, someone with a similar age and skin tone to me showing and explaining a brand I’d actually heard of and doing it in a way a simpleton like me understood and can replicate. I’m off to peruse all your other videos, but just wanted to say thanks.
60+ and this is one of the new foundations I am trying out for my very mature dry skin. This is one that it’s in my finalists. I am well moisturized before using this and happy with the results. One of these days I will try applying with a brush but have liked the results applying with my fingers. Hope your mum likes it! Hard to find a good foundation for mature skin.
Ohhhhh Gemma I went and tried the foundation because of your fab review and my God it’s BEAUTIFUL! I’m normally the same colour as you but I went for birch. Everyone commented on my skin. it being 2023 I am late to the Shiseido party!! Just bought it - cant wait to try it - I have normal to dry skin so am interested to see how it works. Am tempted to use my fav primer underneath, but I might just go with moisturiser and SPF to start!!! Wish me luck x

I have seen mixed reviews on this foundation and I was so glad you explained it could be what it was applied over. I must be using what it likes because I have had no problems. My last step before primer is always sunscreen. I use the concealer but I saw a video that shows it powdered and not powdered and the powder side won and so that is how I wear it. Thanks 🙏🏻

Great review Gemma :) I have the concealer and I love it 🥰. I don’t have a lot of dark circles to cover - i have more puffiness and I’m looking more for smoothing.....so it’s perfect for me and covers my slightly dark circles and smooths out my crinkles:) And it lasts all day for me with minimal ceasing......or maybe I just can’t see it lol This makes me want to try the foundation- some day because right now I’m really enjoying the NYX Born To Glow and the ABH 😊 Xo Tammy Roy 🇨🇦
Love this foundation I have the concealer in my cart waiting to see your thoughts before I purchase. I'm glad their nuetral shades are actually neutral and not warm 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 looks like I'm getting the benefit in shade 1 I have shade 4 and it's to dark so I can mix them for perfect shade.

I agree with so many others that I would love to know if your Mum likes this foundation? So please bring her in on this. Also, since many of us are over 60, could you let us know about the eye concealer that doesn’t cake into our fine lines under the eyes. Do you think the Benefit Bo-ing Cakeless one is best for us too? I’ve tried a few and am always disappointed. Thank-you for honestly letting us know that the Shiseido concealer was a bust!

Thanks for the review! I want to check out the foundation. I tried the mousse blushes and they’re fantastic but their lip glosses in the same tube as the concealer absolutely tanked. The formula was too runny and left a white line where saliva touched it, almost immediately after application.

Hi Pat, no they didn't unfortunately and the rain poured and poured. Bad all round really. The SPF differs depending on what primer I decided to use. All will become clear in a future vid xxx

Are you going to review the new Charlotte tilbury foundation? A lot of youtubers/influencers have not reviewed it or even mentioned it. I personally have found this to be quite a problematic formulation so I understand why they have avoided this.

Having problems over on this side of the pond. The good news is - we’re not in sweaters yet! The not so good news is you get colors or the names of the colors that we do not have. I’ve run into this a half dozen times now. Sometimes seeing product or maybe packaging might help. I dunno. In any event it’s problematic.😔
Temperamental foundations are tough unless you can buy lots of options- moisturizers, sunscrees, primers- to try them with. With all the new formulas, I'm hoping for something a little less high maintenance 😊
@@PamperedWolf I'm sure you're right as I have limited experience 😊 But, for example, CYO Lifeproof seems to work without much fuss on lots of people's skin. Not many shades though...xx

Hi Gemma is this foundation good ? To be honest it’s about the right price for a good foundation mine costs £43 so all ears ! I don’t know how I feel about it being thin yes look very light not for me ! Sorry Gemma looks patchy too me ! I just think that I love mine which I have used for over a year now plus it’s got a serum in it so it does last for me over 16 hours ! It’s just what you are use to t think I have two new ones to try but to be honest I am scared of trying them ! One is YSL the other Chanel so I just might give them a go when I don’t go out ! It's a great foundation Liz, not patchy at all unless you count the areas that I powdered which unfortunately affected the foundation which never happened before xxx
I made the same experience!! When I put it on relatively dry skin it was soooo dry and made every dry patch look worse... when I put it over a hydrating moisturiser, it was completely shiny, looked almost oily all day! Today, I wore it over a "normal" moisturiser, it looked nice, radiant but not oily all day!!! Never have I experienced that in a foundation before, so strange!!
Interesting, I have been dealing with some dry patches and I’m 61 years old and have never ever ever had dry patches on my skin and I to use the NYX angel veil, I think I will take a break from it and see what happens. Thanks!

I know the wolfpack loves foundation reviews, but for me (just my opinion!) it is not that interisting. I always ask myself how many foundation can one single person (in "normal" life) use? The products are not long lasting after opening (Or is this a wrong information Gemma?) and so I think it is a lot of money that goes at least in the trash. Can't wait to hear your Mum's thoughts on it too (hiya Jan 🙋♀️❤). Oh dear, the concealer was an absolute flop. I'm loving the Milani conceal + perfect. It's beaten Nars and Laura Mercier! I've got dry skin and my undereyes are dry too, the Milani seems to work great without powdering, which is fantastic for me. Have to say, you look so cute and pretty. Loving the sweater, it's very girly but not prissy looking. 🏵❤🏵❤🏵❤🏵
I bought this foundation in Alder, I have dry skin, in the summer months a little more normal, but fall and wimter a little on the dry side, the foundation does not settle into my lines, but for some reason without looking dry, it feels very dry throughout the day, I am a heavy moisturizer and have tried with different primers, have you experienced this with the foundation? I really like the finish, not sure about the shade either, I find it to look a little ashy, but thank goodness for good bronzers, I don't know yet if I plan on keeping, I am also in my mid 40s, any tips would be appreciated, also what mascara are you wearing? Your lashes look stunning!!
@@PamperedWolf I was using a little hourglass mineral veil setting powder, but I switched primers and I don't think they even sell this one anymore, the Cover FX anti-aging primer and used a little bit of Charlotte Tillbury's airbrush flawless finishing powder and it seemed to make a difference and did a pretty good amount of facial prepping by adding a little extra moisture to my skin and it is a truly beautiful finish, just hope it's not to finicky with primers because if it is the primer, I don't know another one that is quite like the Cover FX anti-aging, and I am pretty sure it's discontinued, I love the finish, but don't really have time for a finicky foundation, I have 6 children 3 are grown, and 3 are at home and my youngest is one and being in my mid 40s, I don't want something that is going to take a bunch of finagaling, hopefully the extra moisture and switching powders helped because I really do love how it looks, just thought it was weird that my face felt dry after a couple hours after application, anyways, thank you for your response and your lovely reviews, I am a huge fan!!

Try Cerave Healing Ointment on your dry patches. It worked so well on mine. Your foundation looks great.💄💋

It wasn't totally transfer proof Konstantina. It did lift a little onto my glasses, but it didn't move too much xxx

Are you going to review the new Charlotte tilbury foundation? A lot of youtubers/influencers have not reviewed it or even mentioned it. I personally have found this to be quite a problematic formulation so I understand why they have avoided this.

Hi Gemma, I wasn't sure if you or any followers noticed this foundation going orange? Maybe from a primer? I used smash box photo finish which I love and was colored matched but I went orange and looked awful!
For me the colour stayed true all day with no oxidisation xxx

Having problems over on this side of the pond. The good news is - we’re not in sweaters yet! The not so good news is you get colors or the names of the colors that we do not have. I’ve run into this a half dozen times now. Sometimes seeing product or maybe packaging might help. I dunno. In any event it’s problematic.😔

Temperamental foundations are tough unless you can buy lots of options- moisturizers, sunscrees, primers- to try them with. With all the new formulas, I'm hoping for something a little less high maintenance 😊

Hi Gemma is this foundation good ? To be honest it’s about the right price for a good foundation mine costs £43 so all ears ! I don’t know how I feel about it being thin yes look very light not for me ! Sorry Gemma looks patchy too me ! I just think that I love mine which I have used for over a year now plus it’s got a serum in it so it does last for me over 16 hours ! It’s just what you are use to t think I have two new ones to try but to be honest I am scared of trying them ! One is YSL the other Chanel so I just might give them a go when I don’t go out ! It's a great foundation Liz, not patchy at all unless you count the areas that I powdered which unfortunately affected the foundation which never happened before xxx
I made the same experience!! When I put it on relatively dry skin it was soooo dry and made every dry patch look worse... when I put it over a hydrating moisturiser, it was completely shiny, looked almost oily all day! Today, I wore it over a "normal" moisturiser, it looked nice, radiant but not oily all day!!! Never have I experienced that in a foundation before, so strange!!

Interesting, I have been dealing with some dry patches and I’m 61 years old and have never ever ever had dry patches on my skin and I to use the NYX angel veil, I think I will take a break from it and see what happens. Thanks!

I know the wolfpack loves foundation reviews, but for me (just my opinion!) it is not that interisting. I always ask myself how many foundation can one single person (in "normal" life) use? The products are not long lasting after opening (Or is this a wrong information Gemma?) and so I think it is a lot of money that goes at least in the trash.
But hey, I'm just one and I love you and your videos, so I watch them anyway 😉.

Oh dear, the concealer was an absolute flop.
I'm loving the Milani conceal + perfect. It's beaten Nars and Laura Mercier! I've got dry skin and my undereyes are dry too, the Milani seems to work great without powdering, which is fantastic for me.
Have to say, you look so cute and pretty. Loving the sweater, it's very girly but not prissy looking. 🏵❤🏵❤🏵❤🏵

I bought this foundation in Alder, I have dry skin, in the summer months a little more normal, but fall and wimter a little on the dry side, the foundation does not settle into my lines, but for some reason without looking dry, it feels very dry throughout the day, I am a heavy moisturizer and have tried with different primers, have you experienced this with the foundation? I really like the finish, not sure about the shade either, I find it to look a little ashy, but thank goodness for good bronzers, I don't know yet if I plan on keeping, I am also in my mid 40s, any tips would be appreciated, also what mascara are you wearing? Your lashes look stunning!!
What are you putting it on top of Shana? I've never felt any tightness or dry feeling with this one. xxx
@@PamperedWolf I was using a little hourglass mineral veil setting powder, but I switched primers and I don't think they even sell this one anymore, the Cover FX anti-aging primer and used a little bit of Charlotte Tillbury's airbrush flawless finishing powder and it seemed to make a difference and did a pretty good amount of facial prepping by adding a little extra moisture to my skin and it is a truly beautiful finish, just hope it's not to finicky with primers because if it is the primer, I don't know another one that is quite like the Cover FX anti-aging, and I am pretty sure it's discontinued, I love the finish, but don't really have time for a finicky foundation, I have 6 children 3 are grown, and 3 are at home and my youngest is one and being in my mid 40s, I don't want something that is going to take a bunch of finagaling, hopefully the extra moisture and switching powders helped because I really do love how it looks, just thought it was weird that my face felt dry after a couple hours after application, anyways, thank you for your response and your lovely reviews, I am a huge fan!!
Did you notice if the foundation had any oxidation. I have a problem with most foundation I wear oxidizing
