  • In this new series called, NeuroSpicy Stories with Rachel, I share stories from my life that make more sense now that I know I'm neurodivergent. My goal is to help people understand neurodiversity just a little bit better.
In this story from kindergarten, I do something outside of my normal routine, which ends in a shutdown. I hope you enjoy the story!

this was way too relatable lol being the shy girl with one friend who always wanted to do stuff with other people id get peer pressured into it and then be miserable and shut down. id much rather be sitting in the corner alone reading a book or drawing!

I ruined a tape in kindergarten, we were trying to listen to it and I hit record by mistake. I think the reading loft was really popular with my class, or it seemed that way everytime I wanted to get into it.

This is relatable! When I was in the first grade, I ALWAYS sat on this one bar on the playground and refused to do anything else. Sometimes, other kids would approach me and ask me why I was so quiet.

THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS, RACHEL! ✋😩🤚 I’ve been on a journey to trying to figure what up to this point I thought was “wrong” with me and your experiences in kindergarten were nearly identical to mine. I had intense anxiety about going to school for my whole life pretty much (to the point that I actually CHOSE to go to an online university even after the pandemic was over 😂). You don’t know what these stories do for people who are struggling to figure themselves out and feel like no one can relate. You truly are a God-send 🙏 thank you for sharing!
