Yeah - it wasn't as constant as the trailer made it seem but it did take me out of the film a time or two. Especially that image with the bullets falling over hemsworth.
Geoff here. I think if I could go back I’d give Dune Part 2 a B-. People were pissed I gave it a B so I’m kind of glad I didn’t. Anyhow, I try to meld my grade with an objective opinion (if that’s even possible) with how much I personally enjoyed it. Dune 2 had a lot of aspects to appreciate but I felt so disassociated from the experience. Furiosa I felt very involved and enjoyed more but it wasn’t as tight tonally or structurally as it could have been. Picking the right rating is definitely one of the trickier parts of the gig. At some point, Matt and I are planning a “movies we got wrong” episode where we talk about films we’ve reviewed that we’ve changed our opinion on.
@@moviehusbands Thank you very much for this reply which is much more thoughtful than my quick remark. The new Dune movies seem right now like they will become a permanent cultural landmark, whereas this Mad Max movie less so. That was my thought. Thank you both for sharing here your love of movies!
We've discussed it. Let's say it's a point of contention LOL. We were thinking of doing a poll to vote on keeping grades, changing to 0.0-10.0, changing to letterboxd star system, changing to binary, or abolishing it altogether.
You guys do such nice reviews 👏👏
Thank you very much 😊
Exceptional as always!
Did you guys see this on IMAX?
No the timing didn’t work out unfortunately
excellent film, probably won't get another as George Miller is getting bloody old. 😪
Really odd cgi/greenscreen

The same grades as Dune: Part two for both of you. Somehow this doesn't seem right.

@@moviehusbandsHave you guys ever thought about dropping your current grading system and going to binary grading instead?
How can a personal opinion "not seem right"? lol
