Guess Adams did not use common sense when they created their label. A simple line at the beginning or on the front of the label specifying this is a foam cannon only would avoid such a waste of time and effort.

Good video Scott, Have you tried using their regular soap in the foam cannon? How does it work? Is the high foam soap even necessary. They should definitely redo the label to clarify cannon use only. Thanks, Vince.
I've never known a manufacturer to suggest "prepping" a wash bucket with car soap. That is strange but I can see the benefit of doing that......I guess. It seems they're ok with offering ways to use more product when you don't have but 16 ounces to work with.

Adams products are vastly over-priced, under-developed and aggressively marketed. IMO one of the worth detailing brands and far better options out there - both in stores and online.
Sccarguy dilution ratios? How else do you know whether or not you are using the correct amount? Not concentrated enough you won’t get the results, diluted to far and again won’t get the results
I don't either, for the same reason(s). I prefer Chemical Guys Mr. Pink for washing my cars. It works great; makes a ton of foam and does what it's supposed to do. Without the high price, too!
Never used the Adam's Car Shampoo, but have used the Ultra Foam. Was very sudsy, but I couldn't give a crap about that. I didn't like the cleaning ability or rinsablity. I get better results from Griots Garage Foaming Wash and even more so with Bilt Hamber Autofoam.
I haven't seen an issue with it but it is unusual compared to many soaps because when rinsing you'll see a film of soap that you need to thoroughly rinse to get it off
Interesting video! I have both of those shampoos also. Never read the label but got lucky. I figured why wash with the foam shampoo when I have plenty of regular shampoo, so I have been doing exactly what you found out. I haven’t really experienced residue but tend to wash the car with regular Adams shampoo when it is still soaking from the foam cannon and get the results I want. I will say that I love all of Adam’s products but won’t be buying the ultra foam again.... I wonder if their new Mega Foam Shampoo has the same residue you did your video about?
Is there another brand that works well in the sun? This is the main reason I use Adam's here in Florida. Whenever I look for another brand, I always run into a wall with instructions that say to use in shade (except DPC). Cant always find shade here lol. Suggestions?
Like others, only used the Ultra in my cannon. Pretty good results, but there are better soaps available for that purpose. Adams has a very solid product line...it will be unfortunate if this becomes a thread bashing their stuff. There are PLENTY of other companies out there much more deserving of our vitriol.
I love the Adam's VRT, my favorite product for tire and plastic trim dressing....but feels like the rest of their offerings just aren't worth the price IMO. Though I am curious when it comes to their new "one-step" polish....
*@Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing* Scott --- What *car soap* & *car wash and wax* do you use professionally from the standpoint of what makes financial sense ? Same! Everyone I know swears by it and I have purchased several of their products at their premium price and they almost always let me down. Adams and their common sense warning can go to hell. It would be nice to have directions on their product like everyone else in the world.
@@weaverdetails4747 likewise. Theyre aimed to beginner car enthusiasts. Remember at one point they had the "Matte Protectant"? Applied to my hellcat carbon stripes. Turned em chaulky. They used to swear it was a safe wash media, yet when i called about it after it was discontinued, CS said that they had issue with scratching and marring. Yea, great company.
I've ran into the same issue with their mega foaming soap in a cannon. Left a mess of residue all over my cat. I could see the lines on the body where the soap ran down. It was a chore to get off. Was thinking I did something wrong, now I'm not so sure
Thanks for sharing your experience.. NOW I'M GONNA USE MY COMMON SENSE, that is, I WILL NEVER BUY ADAM'S PRODUCTS. I wash & wax all our (5) cars. My black 2008 Sienna still looks like brand new, in and out. I'm very meticulous. I wrapped all our vehicle headlights with 3M clear bra myself. So even the headlights still looks brand new. I also detail the engine bay every 6 months.
The only thing I have found that I really like from Adam's is their car shampoo. Everything else I've tried is just OK, nothing I have to rush out and purchase. But my favorite car shampoo as of right now is Meguiar's Hyper-Wash.
I've only ever used the Ultra Foam once because I got it in a mystery bucket, I don't remember it leaving residue behind and I use it both in my foam gun and bucket. Finished the bottle and never felt the need to buy it again over the normal Car Shampoo. Perhaps yours was defective, such a weird experience you had
I Have not used the ultra foam shampoo, but the regular Adams car shampoo works great and is a good product that works great in a bucket and foam cannon. With that said I have a bottle of the newer Adams “mega foam” after watching this vid I guess it’s possible it is also only meant for a foam cannon. Pricey, but to this day I haven’t found a better soap than Car pro reset. Excellent cleaning, safe for your Coatings, sealants and waxes and doesn’t leave any residue behind. Great product.
I've never had an issue with the soap, but I do often use their strip soap first and then use the other one after I've done other steps. not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
Ironically I was browsing for detail sprays as I am needing a replacement; left your video playing on another tab, and browsed through their products. Here in the U.K their detail spray is... £38!!! So many other options out there, especially for car shampoo's. The price point puts me off.
Had similar problem with a different brand. Had extra foam left in the cannon sprayed it on the car and used it along with the regular shampoo left residue on windows that didnt want to come off. Not the companys fault it was my own, it was gyeon foam by the way. Again it was my fault
Hey Scott love the vids, based on what you read only it so7nds to me, an English guy, that they are telling u to clean your buckets with it when you prep them. So prep them and when doing it use the product to wash it
So I still need two soaps to wash the car? I use ultra foam just to foam the car plus washout the bucket but use their regular soap for the bucket wash? This is getting expensive and exhausting just to wash my car..lol
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing nah I think they are saying you can use it to clean out the bucket or use one of the other two you mentioned. So it can be used for foam gun and cleaning your bucket before you use it. Kinda marketing it as two use’s. That’s my take but I am with you, why not just buy the original car shampoo. .
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing hey Scott, I owe u an apology. Just re-read your reply and can see what you mean. Because they don’t make it clear and obvious that the foam is for a lance only people may buy it thinking it’s a shampoo and lance. Which means they end up having the problem you did and then having to go out and purchase another bottle of car shampoo
I have 2 black e90 bmws how do you dry without getting swirls. I just got paint re clearcoat and ceramic coat polish and wax I'm swirl free trying to keep it that wau
If you can use the normal Car Shampoo in a foam cannon, why would you need a separate/different soap for washing the vehicle? Regardless what brand or product is your favorite, keep it simple: One Soap To Rule Them All!
Wanting the buying public to purchase 2 soaps that are expensive to wash their car is ridiculous, first line in directions of use should have said, or in the front label, " For Foam Cannon Use Only". Too much to over think in my world, just a person who likes to keep his and his wife's car looking sweet.
Adams if very confusing about their directions, especially if you watch their videos. I’ve only used 3 of their products and got different directions for two of them. With their grapheme spray the directions say apply and level when it has rainbow appearance. In their video directions the guy says wait for rainbow appearance to fade away which takes a really long time and makes it very hard to level. With their grapheme detailer one video says you can apply to a wet car and use as a drying aid just like their normal detailer. In another video they say don’t use it like the normal stuff and apply to a dry car. These were all videos on the Adams site. I guess they’re more interested in just selling you product than making sure you actually use them right. Or they just don’t even understand their own products. Either way I think it will be my first and last purchase of their stuff.
Haven’t used the Car shampoo but wasn’t impressed with the ultra foam. I do like the mega foam a lot but very pricey. But I have two white vehicles so I didn’t notice any residue from the ultra foam.
Do not over think it, why does it not leave a residue with foam cannon? But really most tell others to use foam cannon followed by a complete rinse as step one Then grab your two bucket method (you read theirs) and proceed to do a hand wash with regular soap. My take is foam is overrated, if it on the car in step one, I continue my hand wash. Why waste time and buy two soaps. I must be in the minority.
Guess Adams did not use common sense when they created their label. A simple line at the beginning or on the front of the label specifying this is a foam cannon only would avoid such a waste of time and effort.

Adams products are vastly over-priced, under-developed and aggressively marketed. IMO one of the worth detailing brands and far better options out there - both in stores and online.
Adams Car Shampoo is awesome. Praised by many. I love it.
I’ve never thought to read the directions on a car soap before.
Sccarguy dilution ratios? How else do you know whether or not you are using the correct amount? Not concentrated enough you won’t get the results, diluted to far and again won’t get the results
My foam cannon has a “soap” line , as far as my wash bucket , I just put 4oz of what ever soap I have . It’s always worked out for me.
What do you use that is cost effective? you can get it 25% off so .22 cents a Oz for the car shampoo
And that’s why I don’t use Adams. And their products are too pricey.
I don't either, for the same reason(s). I prefer Chemical Guys Mr. Pink for washing my cars. It works great; makes a ton of foam and does what it's supposed to do. Without the high price, too!
Stephen Moxley Thank you
Why bother with Adam's shampoos there some many cheap great option out there
Adam's car shampoo is cheap
People think Adams is cheap when you can get meguiars gold glass in a much bigger bottle for $7
Scott I absolutely love this video absolutely love this video
Never used the Adam's Car Shampoo, but have used the Ultra Foam. Was very sudsy, but I couldn't give a crap about that. I didn't like the cleaning ability or rinsablity. I get better results from Griots Garage Foaming Wash and even more so with Bilt Hamber Autofoam.
I haven't seen an issue with it but it is unusual compared to many soaps because when rinsing you'll see a film of soap that you need to thoroughly rinse to get it off
It means the foaming soap is useless and not a good product if you need a soap to clean the soap.
Boutique Car wash soap is one of the most overhyped over marketed over priced car detailing products you can use, don’t get me started on snow foam.
I like Adam's but I'm nervous they are gonna go the way of chemical guy's. Too much confusion and redundancy in the line.
Nicholas Mangione I hear you. I think it’s mostly due to the labeling of CG’s.
Mckees 37 sio2 auto soap.
Stick to what you like. Adams shampoo is great. Scott said it himself in thia video.
So what’s the best foam shampoo for regular car enthusiasts for a good price
Like others, only used the Ultra in my cannon. Pretty good results, but there are better soaps available for that purpose. Adams has a very solid product line...it will be unfortunate if this becomes a thread bashing their stuff. There are PLENTY of other companies out there much more deserving of our vitriol.
I love the Adam's VRT, my favorite product for tire and plastic trim dressing....but feels like the rest of their offerings just aren't worth the price IMO. Though I am curious when it comes to their new "one-step" polish....
*@Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing*
Scott --- What *car soap* & *car wash and wax* do you use professionally from the standpoint of what makes financial sense ?
I'd like to get a wash soap that is the best bang for your buck in terms of dilution. Most of them seem the same out there at 1ounce per gallon.
I wish you would of roasted Adams. Probably my most disliked brand in detailing.
How about theyre interior detailer? The demo vid shows and says its great for nav screens, yet when i called in to complain about streaking on hard, shiny interior surfaces, CS says its typical for the product. Remember the wash wedge?
Very interesting......I use Meguiar's Gold Class. Residue is not what I expect from my soap.
When I have used Ultra Foam in the wash bucket I use like 1-2 tbsp.
I washed my wife’s car with it and didn’t have any issues, not sure if I got lucky or what. I love the smell of it though!
Great product.
what doesn't make sense to me is why even bother with a foam wash if you are going to be doing a contact wash anyway?
Foam wash loosens unbounded dirt then followed by contact wash from a bucket or sprayed off/rinsed mitt.
I've always been a fan of Duragloss 902 car soap. Great product👍
I've never had an issue with the soap, but I do often use their strip soap first and then use the other one after I've done other steps. not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
Holy crap that’s exactly what happened to my truck when I tried the ultra foam soap! Woah... I will just stick with there regular soap
Well Scott time to release a dpc car shampoo/foam cannon soap. I know you should have something in the works on it by now.
We need you back mr scott
Can you recommend a orbital polisher
😘❤️I am easy to confuse from the beginning, so I did the SAME THING you did! 😁 🤔
thanks Scott👍
Instructions are pretty clear. Wash the BUCKET with car wash or ultra foam shampoo and rinse them out with a full bucket of water.
According to @pantheorganizer, this product is the absolute best! Don't question him on it.
Yeah, because they sponsored his video.
