When I lived in Southeast FL all three communities I owned a house in had free irrigation water. All houses on the lakes pulled water directly from there, and if needed houses not on the lake were on well water. The Villages winds up dumping water (irrigation on all days long in the common areas to lower retention ponds) for weeks sometimes July through September just depending on rainfall, it would be great if they would waive reclaimed water fees for villagers during those times and we could help lower the ponds before hurricanes and afterwards and other big rain events.
Regarding precast concrete homes. I assume if I see concrete blocks someone has asked for expanded walls (like paying extra at design time to make their garage wider). Regarding noise, the precast concrete is surely much quieter than stick built. A few weeks ago I watched the host of the TVE UA-cam channel touring some open houses in Shady Brook. There were roofers nailing all around. Total mayhem. When he went inside the home you would never know. Dead quiet. For this reason alone, a precast home near the Turnpike would be a good investment.
No disrespect here, but I disagree with the Turnpike investment. We are planning to add a birdcage to our new build and do not want to hear the freeway noise. Just my opinion.
@@cathypeters3603 According to Commissioner Don Wiley, the Turnpike will be 4 lanes each way in the future (no idea of time table - but info is probably out there in public domain)
@@TimOtero-nm5fg that number is a long way down the road and another square will be built in about 10 years. Also consider consider it 75k homes for 3 square now. Eastport will be the largest to date with Middleton facilities just a short distance away supplementing it. I don’t see it as a huge concern
@GoldWingnut Thank you for all the information you provide. I'll be coming down for a Lifestyle visit in November, and your videos provide a lot of advanced information.
Three waterfront homesites became available last Friday in Well Point. They are sold. Make a habit of checking The Villages web site every Friday morning at 8:00 Eastern. This is when they show up (“released” in TV jargon)
The irrigation discussion was confusing...there are already two systems to each house. If the irrigation water is coming from the ponds and is untreated, it should be close to free, especially when the golf courses are flooded and they are trying to open.
My water bill was over $200 too. Water 3 days a week but I have .8 acres and 98 sprinkler heads in 9 zones
Was this the Tuesday morning for the long awaited, much anticipated video #148?
Nice show Don!
when will costco construction begin

Don’t hold your breath waiting for TV to ever provide the residents something for nothing. Also, don’t expect a response from TV-backed Wiley.

@BradInStLouis Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization website
With 8000 homes being built in Middleton, won't that put a huge strain on the Eastport Town Square since town squares are open to the public?

Now I’m officially worried…about you…and about #148…both are MIA
What is the current and upcoming villages / areas that will have water front home sites available?

I don't understand how an owner opens a lodging business (Airbnb), but is not licensed or inspected. I don't think Hilton would get away with that.
Why are residents/renters not fined for putting out garbage on non-pickup days?
yes
