- On 6/6/2024 the Old Colony & Newport Railway moved a former NYC flatcar down the Newport Secondary Line. It will soon be loaded and used to move materials for a track project. The OCN crew used Porter JPEX 7349 to move the flatcar into Newport near Admiral Kalbfus Rd. crossing. Stay tuned for future videos and updates on the Newport Secondary!

I wish i could ride on the flat car that has been my dream for soooo long
So do I or in the cab maybe drive it a little that would be a dream come true to me
The flat deck looks great in red! 😊
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the NY Central paint scheme was black with white lettering, while its successor, the Penn Central, had that green we saw. Sorry, but I'm a stickler for correct historic information. But, also realize that I thoroughly enjoy your videos, and thank you for all you do to bring them to us!
NYC did have flatcars painted green
I love watching that shine come back to the wheels
There is something about watching a "local," in the rain, that is so darn nostalgic! I don't know what it is, but that's the way your video makes me feel. Thanks for braving the elements to bring us this view.
Really cool video!
Unanswered questions: 1. What is the flat car used for? 2. What was the reason for leaving it where it was retrieved from? 3. For what reason or purpose was it transferred to where it was dropped off? 4. Why does it seem videos are filmed mostly on rainy days? Thank you.
The flat car was spotted there for access to load ties for installation
Nice job guys !
Great one man, it’s cool how you were able to get an in-cab view!
Look like that railroad crossing wasn't working I need to fix that so there's no accidents
The crossing shown in the video is no longer an active road
what about that crossing where the flatcar was set off, do those signals work or do they have to flag that crossing also?
All active crossings were flagged if the signals did not go off.
It sounds like that bell could use a little restoration.
The electronic bell on the new MBTA trains sound just like this. The recording for the bell could have been this train.
@@bobcosgrove3235 Ok, Thanks

@@rj4590 Horn does sound good.
Great job moving that flat car.
