Fun fact: GM overbuilt the Roadmaster line to the point where they were losing many thousands per car. Note that most manufacturers only spend roughly half what the car costs to make it, and the rest is taken up by marketing, worker salaries, options, and so on. So on a $40K car ( at the time ), they were spending something stupid like $35K on materials and losing thousands per car. Even fully loaded, with every option added to increase profit, they still lost money. It's also why it was built well enough to be restored back like this. Sadly, most are junk by now, usually being abused to death over the years.

Looking at that Buick Roadmaster looking so gorgeous makes me want to cry. America can really do great work ,can't it. Just beautiful. Worth it for that fantastic restoration job,Just fantastic. That is a keeper,Hoovie. Perfect family car.
no joke, that is probably the nicest Roadmaster in the country that can be daily driven.. Great projec and the guys at VANGO are definitely some knowledgable guys.
As someone who has been around large quantities of certain substances. That was not a mule car. That was a tweakers car. You only smell it when it's cooked or smoked.
Disagree. This was car was used to haul some of the slurry that is a biproduct of the one pot 'Shake and Bake' method for meth production. Probablly threw the production pot in the back of the car without cleaning it and it dripped into the trunk. The chemicals include pseudophedrine, sodium hydroxide, ammonium nitrate and a solvent. Highly flammable and explosive.
I was looking for a nice 90s car as my new daily. Ended up getting a 1 owner Lincoln Town Car with 46k miles but was also looking at Roadmaster wagons. It was insane what people were asking for them, and that was a year ago. I was seeing some with ~120k miles in "pretty good" shape going for $7,000+. Got my Lincoln for 2800.
@@s1bulka depends, what kind of condition? 4k maybe for a "runner" that needs some serious help. Expect 8-10 for a "good daily" car that isn't perfect. Some very nice condition cars are 14+.
I love the Roadmaster! I owned a 94 Chevy Caprice Classic LS with the LT1 from 1999 to 2015. I absolutely loved the torque and awesome highway ride. Unfortunately, Ohio winters returned most of it to the earth. I sold it with 260,000 mostly trouble free miles. I'd love to find another some day.

Amazing restoration on a wagon that I never thought would avoid the crusher. Who would've thought 15 years ago anyone would want to restore one. Classic!
Wow that Roadmaster is mint! You should fix the interior headliner and get that bad paint spot on the hood fixed. Go ALL IN Hoovie! You know you want to!
I agree. The car now shows itself to be worth it. He says he's now 15k in. I dunno what a Concourse condition car is worth, but I'm guessing the maximum of 17-18k he'd have into it would pale in comparison to its value when all done. As we know, these kind of cars in good condition are very much sought after these days.
that guy does a really good job,it would have cost way more to spray it and redo the trim and fake wood plus all the cleaning and the roof trim,he loves doing that work,he loves to see the before and after then show it to the client.

I saw a Levante yesterday here in São Paulo, Brazil. I've looked to the car, the driver looked at me and I've started to laugh very hard, because of you!!! The driver got mad... LOL
Bob's still waiting for Tyler to stop disrespecting him by continually calling him Urination Bob. If someone dissed me like that, I would get him to cease and desist, one way, or another.
Hey Hoovie, I just came back from your hooptie evaluation done by the Vinwiki channel. I am amazed how far you've come. I love your videos and your positive attitude although the buy may fail you but you always thrive for more.
Damn! The Roadmaster came out so well that it deserves a suspension upgrade, a set up by Hydroholics would be puuurfect! It would ride better than ever, literally like a sofa, and you'd be able to choose your ride height from layed out to super lifted to cross any obstacle. I'm pretty sure you'll never do it, but that's a car that as it sits right now is actually asking for it really loudly! 😅 👍🏻🖤🏴☠️
A true Hooptie episode! Amazing resto of a Woody! (The Woody being a WWII creation due to metal shortages. Always surprised me they kept it around after the generation that knew its origin left the family hauler demographic. Ford had the Country Squier, Chrysler used it on wagons and vans. For the next generation it reminded us of the butcher block trend in kitchen design which came after Formica and before Corian and granite.)
Makes us wonder the REAL source of your fortune: the cannonball runs across the US, the trips overseas to "Vacation" with the "wife", the " wizard" ; its all coming together now.
Stewart is the BOSS ,love hes content and its so cool to see how its all done ,excellent shop except for the Hamilton stuff on the wall ,hoping thats the entrance to the toilet
The urin smell, like that of cat urine specifically, IS indeed common to meth. I unfortunately had the pleasure(?) of learning this with my duplex neighbor in the past. I have friends that are and some that were LEOs that identified it. It is strongest when it is being cooked as well as smoked. Just an additional FYI.
And the residue will stick around and affect whoever is by therefore getting them high. The state actually has to come out and clean whatever is contaminated because it is such a hazard. I don’t know why no one has told him to spend as little time inside the car as possible until it’s completely gone unless you want to ingest it
anhydrous ammonia is the smell, crucial ingredient in meth production. My wife is a librarian and has had to dipose of children's books returned from her students whose parents were into meth.
I worked security for years and the company had a Roadmaster as one of the general use company vehicles. We had keys to a whole list of cars, including a vintage Suburban, a BMW, a few minivans, a box truck, and whatever else I forgot. But the once you've drove a Roadmaster, even the best Cadillac is going to have a hard time trying to compete. The only issue is it needs a wide area to turn around. A semi rig has a smaller turning radius than a Roadmaster. But it's as comfortable as it gets. A true American classic. :)

Careful with the ozone, you can actually destroy a car's interior if you use it too long.
It only works permanently on biological stink. Chemicals, cigarettes etc it just covers it up.
not gonna work on the smells from meth
Ozone will eat up just about anything, including chemicals and meth
Fair play Stewart at Vango's work really is second to none. The roadmaster looks absolutely amazing. 👍🙂
You can get the wood off by spraying it with a CO2 fire extinguisher. The extreme low temperature crystalizes the adhesive and breaks the bond between the fax wood and the body.
Or a air duster spray can upside down.

Just for a giggle, I should 3d print you some 'METHERATI" badges..... In fact, I am... I'll send them care of the car wizard, cheers for some great content Tyler. Watching from Mission Beach, Queensland, Australia( the Great Barrier reef, is my back yard).
🤣🤣🤣
What a great thing to advertise to the world.
@@mexicanspec It would certainly get a few double takes....
@@Tropicarna Yes but not from the people you would want.
I love the featured people. You can see the passion they have for their craft.
You deal with really great people who fix and look after your cars, they are so positive which just adds to your videos.
Looking at that Buick Roadmaster looking so gorgeous makes me want to cry.
America can really do great work ,can't it.
Just beautiful.
Worth it for that fantastic restoration job,Just fantastic.
That is a keeper,Hoovie.
Perfect family car.
Yes. The Roadmaster Hoovie sold going to Germany is no coincidence. People over there realised the significance of it as well.

@@tristonriddle5116 we’re you trying to be rude or are you the UA-cam punctuation police
To bad you couldn't keep the Testarossa, together with the 80s cop car and the Metharati you could've made your own Hoovie Vice episode
no joke, that is probably the nicest Roadmaster in the country that can be daily driven.. Great projec and the guys at VANGO are definitely some knowledgable guys.
You can tell that detailer really has a passion for his work 👍
Stuart is such a positive great guy, I wish I could be that composed and positive all the time.
A great businessman, too. To every question, "Can you do it?", or "Do you think you can do it?", he only knows one answer, "Yes!".
What a great channel. I love these stories you make skimpily by buying poor condition cars. Great editing too, seriously. Keep up the good work Tyler.
As someone who has been around large quantities of certain substances. That was not a mule car. That was a tweakers car. You only smell it when it's cooked or smoked.
Explains the repossession
@@robertbeirne9813 explains the Maserati
Then why was the smell concentrated in all the cargo areas of the car?
They were in charge of moving the equipment used to make it more than likely. They explain it in the end of the video.
Hey!!! I normally skip through some of Hoovies content but that Vango guy is infectious. I wanna see more of him!! 🙂
Really loved seeing Stuart's enthusiasm. Something about him makes me feel like he's the Wizard's long lost brother haha...
That woody is much cooler than the Maserati. It looks good now. The detailer did a tremendous job.
I would take the Roadmaster over the Metharati any day.
It's really rare to find someone so dedicated and excited by their craft. Make sure you stay in Stuart (Stewart?)'s good graces.
That's a nice roadmaster wagon. I just can't believe how much their going for.
How much are they going for at the moment?
@@s1bulka depends, what kind of condition? 4k maybe for a "runner" that needs some serious help. Expect 8-10 for a "good daily" car that isn't perfect. Some very nice condition cars are 14+.
@@crimsonstang Well im from Europe, so Ive got no idea :P. So it seems like Hoovie made nice profit with this car
I am totally in lust with the Roadmaster. Love, love, love it!!! An absolutely perfect road-trip vehicle. I must find one. ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
I love how much Tyler supports local business'. The guys down in Vango have done a fantastic job detailing every car you've showcased thus far.
He really did an amazing job with the wagon!
It shows that a good detailer is worth the $_$!
I'd love to find another some day.
it seems Vango are wizards in their own right, fantastic job on the Roadmaster. Nice that Stewart is taking after the Wizard making sure to get what they've earned.😆
I just learned that a friend of mine in Australia has subscribed to your channel after I mentioned it to him, and he now watches it with his newborn son. You're reaching all corners of the globe and crossing generations at the same time!
The detail guys are so good and so nice. Thank god you found them.
For someone who has issues with the fumes. I am finding it mighty suspicious that you never lower the windows on the car. There's fresh air out there.
Or leave the windows down for a week
Have you seen his house? Would you wanna walk out of your multi million dollar house somewhere and smell your internet fame neighbors methmobile...
Wind noise would make it difficult to vlog
Fresh air doesn't work if you don't remove the source smell.
Wind noise and microphones dont get along well
Thank you for being such an important part of my day I love seeing all of your Hooptie‘s
Wow! The Buick looks amazing. The detailers definitely worked a miracle on that car.
Amazing restoration on a wagon that I never thought would avoid the crusher. Who would've thought 15 years ago anyone would want to restore one. Classic!
Very impressed with the Vango guys! Wish them and their business the best
The Roadmaster looks amazing! As for the Metherati, I wouldn't ride around in that with the windows up.
Finally, after all these years, Hoovie has a good car.
stevemonkey6666 Which he will most likely sell the first chance he gets.
Yes, agreed. the Roadmaster is fantastic.
I like it how Tyler gives local businesses his business and a good boost. Support your small businesses.
Wow, that Buick looks really slick. Stuart and his team really knows their stuff.
that guy does a really good job,it would have cost way more to spray it and redo the trim and fake wood plus all the cleaning and the roof trim,he loves doing that work,he loves to see the before and after then show it to the client.
I love seeing the transformation miracles from Vango! Very satisfying stuff to watch, almost as fun as seeing the Wizard hit you with a big bill while shopping for yachts! ;)
You GOT to keep that Roadmaster! I mean, wow, just wow. The guys at Vango just did an AWESOME job on it!
Also nice they got rid of the smell on the Metharati.
I like the vango guys character. Genuine dude
I saw a Levante yesterday here in São Paulo, Brazil. I've looked to the car, the driver looked at me and I've started to laugh very hard, because of you!!! The driver got mad... LOL
If you see someone driving a Levante in Sao Paulo you should probably be very wary about pissing him off.....
If I learned anything from what Bob says, "I have a pending sale" is a lie. LOL.
😂
Most honest lie ever, when you don't wanna sell.
It actually did sell but have been guilty as charged before…. Lol.
Bob's still waiting for Tyler to stop disrespecting him by continually calling him Urination Bob. If someone dissed me like that, I would get him to cease and desist, one way, or another.
hoovie and the ninja looking at a tobacco vape like they just discovered fire was the most boomer thing I've seen this week 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣 Right? "Vape pipe".
The Roadmaster looks excellent! Glad you could get the "cat pee" smell out of the Maserati.
The Vango man is awesome. You can tell he knows what he’s doing and takes extreme pride in his work.
You can tell the Vango guys really care about the work they do.

VanGo does amazing work. Wow.
Lol
Ah ...The wizards boats...out to a GW Bush oil rig...thanks for solving the case

I want to be Hoovie! What a cool life this man has made for himself! Just made myself an auction/Copart account, wish me luck fellow UA-camrs.
The wheels really make the Metharati. The Roadmaster is amazing! VANGO IS THE BEST!
I don’t know why no one has told him to spend as little time inside the car as possible until it’s completely gone unless you want to ingest it
We dont need a tweaked out tyler. He's highstrung enough as it is
@@getchasome6230 LMAO! 🤣😂
I've been around people that smoked it a couple times and it didn't smell like cat piss
anhydrous ammonia is the smell, crucial ingredient in meth production. My wife is a librarian and has had to dipose of children's books returned from her students whose parents were into meth.
These are the episodes I like. Transformations
