    This just adds to the Skrama stable that includes the Terava knives. For those looking for a thinking man's golok then the full sized Skrama has a whole lot more utility.
    Its tricky quite where to put this "Para golok" sized blade. A large classic utility knife would cover most of the tasks this scale does. For those having a use for a sharp and effective light chopper in a small package the loads to love here.
    All the Terava range are cost effective great work blades, and all very accomplished at getting work done. Best bit they aren't expensive; well they are at least worth every penny.
    Nice vid, thanks.

      @@pro_stat1993 yes you are right, for clearing areas it's great, but for finer work, carving, cooking, preparing fish and game, smaller jobs.. right tool for the right job.. the point I was trying to make was the is no "best" there is just the right tool for the right job!

    I’ve had the 240 for a good three years and as you said it is a bit of a ‘survival sword’ but dam what an amazing bit of kit ! As my secondary knife I’ve got one of there bare tang 80mm skrama’s and it’s just as good . And I totally agree there customer service is truly A1 .

    I've swung the 240 for a year now. Unbelievable Bush Tool. If you have the Leather Sheath for the 240/200 you can strop the Blade down one side of it as well as your backup smaller blades.

    A tip when using ferrorods; hold the knife still and run the ferrorod over it, that way it is easier to keep the feather still on the stump.

    Hey brother, been planning to get the Skrama but torn between the 240 and 200. I kinda dislike the tang in the 240. Does it made you think the 200 is a bit too short or enough as a chopper. Thanks

    • @WildernessAdventuresUK
      @WildernessAdventuresUK  3 роки тому

      Yeah I'd say go 240 if you want a chopper - if you're after a big knife that can chop go 200.. but definitely think the 240 will be the superior chopper due to the longer handle

  • @flymanhorse
    @flymanhorse 9 місяців тому

    I haven't bought it yet, the skrama 200, but i think i'd prefer over the 240 as a one tool option.
    Because the 200 i think, is a bit better to handle carving and precission chopping

    • @WildernessAdventuresUK

    hi spi,, just been looking at a few revews, on that nife, not bad for the price, but has few flaws long term use it seems, the stainless blade seems to chip easyer than the carbon,, and the handle im not to keen on as you cant see how its attached comes loose after long term heavy useage,, time will tell with yours,, i bring up an old stump for you to play with see how it copes with that,,

    • @WildernessAdventuresUK
      @WildernessAdventuresUK  4 роки тому +1

      will see how it pans out buddy - If it starts falling to bits you guys will get to hear about it - I'd actually love some nice wooden scales on it, so if it does there will be a project video for the channel - also this is the carbon version so no worries at all! Cant wait to beat it up a little more!

      After six years of heavy usage the handle on my original Skrama is still absolutely fine. Try hard enough you can damage any handle material. The one on Skramas and Terava knives is a great handle material.
      Who uses a knife on an old stump when there is a wood full of appropriate material?
      Smacks of trying to find something to say. You don't have to love them, but they are exceedingly good tools.

    • @darrenhamilton4491
      @darrenhamilton4491 4 роки тому

      @@muskett4108 hi glad your is ok, im just going by 3reviews as i like the look and price of the blade, most of my forest work is choping old stumps of fat wood, and fat wood logs,, as spi knew what i ment i guess youve no idea about collecting fatwood, how is the handle attached by the way?

    • @muskett4108
      @muskett4108 4 роки тому +1

      @@darrenhamilton4491
      I've been collecting fatwood since I was a kid, and then in the holidays I shadowed an old time forester. He taught me how to snare rabbits and fish to.
      Anyhow, I use an axe to chip out fatwood chunks when I need some.
      The Skrama is more of a snedding tool. For anything that needs cutting rather than chopping. Collecting green hazel sticks or reed thatch, anything thats not overly thick. Its not for logging. Heck, its too sharp to replace a billhook. Right tool for the job and all that.
      The handle is a full rubber over mould. Sure you can replace it with something wood, heck they even sold blades for those who wanted to. But why bother when the handle material is just so good at giving such a great grip? Right balance too.
