  • Three hunters journey to the Arctic slope of Alaska’s Brooks Range Mountains in search of a challenge, a measure of danger, and an outcome unknown. The wolves, wolverines, moose, herds of caribou, and a marauding grizzly bear satisfied their primal urge to explore such a desolate wilderness and changed their lives forever.

I’m a 73yr old great gramma. I am proud to tell you that instead of watching movies at the end of my day, I watch your videos. You draw me in with your stories and your faith. I find myself captured by the hunts every step of the way, no matter what you are hunting. You have helped me understand what true hunting is, the reason for it. You’re not out there just to kill something. Thank you Billy. Thank you for being the man that you are.

I would have loved to have shared a hunt with my Dad. My Grandfather was a hunter and deep sea fisherman, but my Dad never made time for hobbies of his own. Having lived through the depression my Dad was always worried about it happening again so he worked several jobs and saved everything he could. He would take a week or two for vacation trips with my Mom, but never took the time away from for anything you would consider a hobby. He passed nine years ago at 91 years old. This hunt with your Dad and his friend is truly special and I'm sure you count yourself a blessed man for having been given this gift. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Billy i just found your hunts on here a few wks ago. And watching your videos is about all ive done in these last few wks.
You see i lived in Alaska with my family my self for 14 yrs. My father which brought us all to Ak.stayed many yrs after myself.
I got married and moved back down to the lower 48.
My pa was the first that took me deer hunting
That was when i was young i dont remember my age but it was in Wisconsin because i was born in Burlington Racine.
Anyway don't mean to go on. Just want to say I'll be 59 yrs old in less than two moths and I am alone now as my hole family has went on to meet up with god my loving wife of close to 30 yrs included.as her and my Dad passed in 2012. Both my younger brother aand my mom. All gone. So it's just me watching you now pilgrim. I very much enjoy all your video's keep them coming but remember one thing my friend there is only so much time we have marked for our family. Spend it with them as much as you can because its the only golden time we have on this earth.
I hope I made since in this message to you.
Your my new hero on earth. I love watching your hunts..
Lord be with you and yours
Be safe and skin that griz. pilgim and get ya another one. Peace be yours.
    Sincerely
    Your friend Fabian.
    P. S. I also grow up milking cows and working with cattle.

I have been such a huge fan of Billy ever since I first started seeing his videos and hunts several years ago. This one has been one of my favorites that I have re-watched many of times and it ALWAY'S has me laughing so so hard when he wakes them up saying, "bear-bear" if only I could have been in camp with the three of them that week. Talk about some laughs.

So nice to see you and your dad hunt together ,I never had a dad to hunt with but watching you guys make up for it.what a hunt to remember. I hope your kid gets to shoot a caribou with your grandpas gun. Or clean it up retire the old savage. I have a Winchester mod. 63,a 22 cal. That was my grandpas gun. One of the only guns I never sold or traded something else for. Was offered a thousand dollars for it a few times 20 or 25 yrs ago. I have no kids but I have to figure out who I'm leaving it to. The rest of my guns I will probably pass them out to younger family members within the next few years. You bring back some good memories of my hunting days. I'm going to call an old friend here in a minute to talk hunting and fishing stories with. Some of my best times and stories are from hunting and fishing and drinking beer. Thumbs up ,hats off and subbed Billy. Stay strong brother and thanks for the good memories. Peace

I truly enjoy your videos. This one really got to me. 2016 was the last year I got to hunt with my dad. He still goes to camp with me but his vision is gone now. He did something that last trip I never thought I would see him do. For the first time in all of his years of hunting he passed on shooting a legal buck. I sat next to him as that deer walked out onto the old skid road and passed within 50 yards of him. I watched my dad raise the gun to his shoulder, push the safety off when the buck stopped directly in front of him and waited for the shot. My dad slowly put the gun down and told the deer to keep moving. A day I'll never forget.

I still find myself talking to him when I feel his presence among my outdoor experiences. I know this is an older hunt but what I found so great was the fact that you were able to do it with your father and his best friend ....from time to time I've watched your adventures and loved them but what I was most impressed of was this hunt for I've never had such an opportunity since I'm the first generation of hunters in my family and use to hunt to sustain our family through the winters of Ohio, NE Ohio that is ....it was hard and many long hours spent in the woods but that was the way it was back then and I excepted it and would never do it any other way ....Thank you for bring your adventures of Alaska wilderness to us so that we can experience from your experience and God Bless your dad and his friend for being able to do this cuz climbing those mountains ain't an easy task and I love the fact that you were in a position to give them that experience. God Bless and stay safe.

I love it when you remain aware of your hunter's position and where the end of his barrel in pointed, so that you can remind him not to point it in any direction other than the one in which he's going to shoot. I ALSO respect the way you gently reminded him to keep the end of the barrel pointed down range. I know he is your Father but I'm betting you would do it the same way for any hunter OTHER than your Dad.

Great job Billy. Your Dad and Maddog sure had a great time. That trip will go down in their memory book as probably one of top hunting trips of their time including you. That Savage Rifle is a great gun.

This is my favorite video of your's. I wish I could have videoed hunting and fishing outings with my dad. We lost him in 2008 to cancer. I love this video

For the second time I’ve watched this episode. I can only say, I agree with you it’s probably your best memory of hunting with Pa and Greg
