    So many haters on here. I think awesome video, with some great ideas for drills to improve your game. Amateur, novice, or pro. They are just ideas to practice cue ball control. Well done pool school love your videos from aus.

      Cheers. I’m not bothered by the odd negative comment, part and parcel of doing anything online these days unfortunately. Like you say they’re drills to help you improve and hopefully they help people. I don’t pretend to be any sort of pro, just a local league player trying to learn and improve like the rest of us.

    Great channel, iv sent alot of your videos to our newer players here in Ireland to help get them up to speed.
    I think if you done a short video explaining world rules and why the deliberate foul is allowed it would easily be your biggest viewed video.
    Maybe one for world and one for black ball and the comparisons between skill shot/ free ball and delib foul.
    Biggest draw back to convincing promising players to take up the proper pool tour is the deliberate foul. As soon as they see it they think something shady is going on and dont want to play. Once they understand why they generally stay for good

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 роки тому

      Thank you, that's really appreciated, I hope they find them useful.
      I know exactly what you mean, first time someone made a deliberate foul against me when I started playing, I was like "surely that's cheating!". I'll certainly think about making a video covering World Rules. Although I'm aware of black ball rules I've never played it so I don't really feel qualified to to do a comparison video.

    • @Leinsterken
      @Leinsterken 4 роки тому

      Stick to the world there better. I find the biggest problem isnt the cheating. You go into a lads small pond. Ya beat him and its an easy crutch. “Ah those rules are crap did ya see that i hung the pocket and he just potted it”
      A good explanation of the rules and why a delib is there. And ill get it out for you on the irish pool page get ya great coverage.

    Some good drills here . That looks like a supreme winner table and I have to admit the pockets looked very generous I thought you had missed a couple up to the top left pocket on the cross drill . My brother has a supreme table in his house and was beautiful when brought 13 years ago but now the pockets are so tight it's untrue .
    Still a good table but if a ball catches the jaw at all it never goes in

      Yeah it's a supreme winner, lovely table to play on. Your absolutely right, the pockets are very tight and I'll be honest with you, that cross drill is quite difficult and not one I complete very often. This is was one of the few times I got it on camera and I was very lucky with a few of those pots rattling in the corner.

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 роки тому +1

      It's very likely that it's an English pool table then. American pool tables have sharp angled pockets and English pool tables have more curved rounded pockets. This makes rail shots much harder and they need to be played softer to give the ball a chance of dropping.

      @@PoolSchool Hi mate,I was wondering about your advice on how to deal with people at the comps that try to put you off? I'm talking about local pub comps, where there's normally no ref watching all the time...no shot clock...no real standard's...opponents grabbing a drink during a game lol. You'll get the same old comments right when your down on your shot... your opponent will try strike up a conversation in the middle of the game...the list goes on forever. I've asked my mates,they say just block it out,an reset...I try the reset thing...stand up from the shot,get back down...then bla bla bla again...Im starting to think that to be able to have a good fair game I'm going to have to play somewhere else where there's pool etiquette an refs? I know all the players that watch this on UA-cam to pick up some hints are already pros..lol..but I'm not,I've done a few master breaks, so I'm not totally useless. I gotta stay mentally in the game I guess.

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 роки тому +2

      @@Dave101. It's a tough one and something I face all the time in my pub league. Whether it's players who have had a few too many or one of those guys that just won't shut up! I think when it's someone trying to talk to you when you're taking a shot I would just stand up, let them finish and then get back down to the shot again. If they start talking again then just stand up again. Hopefully they'll get the hint eventually! If not I'm sure someone else watching will get bored of waiting for the game to continue and say something. It's a tough one, but if you can deal with it, it will only make you a better player. If someone is trying to trash talk or generally annoying me during a match I try to tell myself it's because they know you're a better player then them and can't beat you fairly. Use it as a confidence boost and try and stay calm and play your own game.

    i', ve been following your videos for quite a while and they've given me alot of insight into the game. I have a kind request. There's some confusion concerning approaching the shot, some say you should stand square-on towards the shot then visualize and step down from there. but some say you should set your lead leg (ie your right leg if you're right handed) on the line of aim and step in as done in snooker.
    could you please make a video explaining in detail the process of aiming & stepping down on the shot. Addressing these following questions.
    1. Standing behind the shot (do we stand square on or do we lead with one foot on the line of aim)
    I've seen some players lean to one side when stepping in is this because of their dominant eye?
    2. Feathering (are you looking at cueball, object ball + pocket as you would when standing or are you just looking at the contact point on the objectball?)

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 роки тому +5

      James Grayson the table is a supreme winner used on the EPA pool tour, the Supreme pool series and the world eight ball series. It’s also probably the most common pool table in the uk and found in pubs and clubs all over the country, so to suggest the pockets are buckets is rubbish. A few balls certainly rattled and I was lucky they dropped on a few, but I’m only an amateur player trying to share some practice ideas and tips with other beginners, not a professional pool player. If you’d like to send me a video where you complete the cross drill with all balls potted in the heart of the pockets on one of your “so much tighter” tables, I’ll happily post it on the channel!
