Big sick ugly Jim was a genius. Melodic finger picking, classical detailing, metal chugging and rhythmic galloping all wrapped up in a psychotic, deranged package. I love the contrast in tone and energy. Now where's my flying V? Thanks.
Hey Dale! He was indeed, I'm on a mission to nail his dirt tone now! I read this earlier which was cool about how he left and other little titbits! www.guitarworld.com/news/former-faith-no-more-guitarist-jim-martin-answers-fan-questions
Such a great song.learnd it round the time it came out.was so satisfying.still play it from time to time.big Jim was the man riff monster back then.good job 👍
This was a blast…I didn’t pick up my guitar until the Boogie gallops section…but I just paused the video and started at the beginning of the tune with just my memory and ear…the end is a blast
Thanks heaps. Really appreciate you breaking down the Faith No More stuff. Can't wait to get into this and learn it. Would be fantastic if you could do Surprise Your Dead
I was just listening to this obscure song from the late 80s that I think noones probably heard of. Thinking man I'd really like to learn this on the guitar, but no way I'm going to find a good tutorial. Quick search later and as always you got me!
Another great vid! Definitely feel Jim Martin is overlooked. He brought the metal chug to FNM; an essential part of their eclectic sound. Big part of the vibe of the band, too (the hair! the glasses!). I like King for a Day, but besides that it was a slow decline after he left. Shame the band didn't invite him to be part of the reunion.
Thanks mate! Yea he was a legend. I read an interview on that apparently the band did ask him and he said yes but it didn't happen. www.guitarworld.com/news/former-faith-no-more-guitarist-jim-martin-answers-fan-questions
Awesome! Buddie, you have to do a video playing this full song, with no cuts, like you learn to play in anothers vídeos, with the music, all the instruments and vocal.
I don't own any Mexican strats or teles mate so can't confirm really. It depends what you're after, a tele will sound very different to a strat, so you'd need to ask yourself what tones you want :-)
I played it by ear and I use the low E string to play the running notes that u played on D string. That's the only difference ..... the rest is the same.
@@waynekerr8003 haha the working out is always the quickest bit of vids, tabbing, recording and editing is what takes up all the time unfortunately mate! I’ll add it to the list but if you’re super keen for it best bet is Patreon 🤘😉
hahaha well in isolation each part isn't tricky (odd time signatures aside) but all together it's definitely intermediate! The riffs at the end you just need to work on the galloping chugs! :-)

Best song by the best band, thank you for this
With so many awesome songs on, The Real Thing, this one gets overlooked sometimes. I've always loved this tune though, great choice!
Cheers Kyle!

Saw them at the Astoria Tottenham Court Road in the 80's. It was awesome..
Amazing venue went there a few times, shame it had to be closed down
Man, your channel is becomimg one of my favourites, we were so lucky to be contemporary of all this bands!
Wow, that's awesome to hear thanks Dave!
Wow great job on this man. This is really almost a Spanish style song or at least the beginning acoustic parts.
Thanks!
Such a monster of song!!!
Thanks heaps. Really appreciate you breaking down the Faith No More stuff. Can't wait to get into this and learn it. Would be fantastic if you could do Surprise Your Dead

He is still bitter .... he doesn't want to play with FNM ... he lost the faith
Brother you are slaying it lately! FNM is amazing! The Real Thing is killer, and their Angel Dust album is in my top 10 of all time
And I'm still gushing over that Suhr. I'm a PRS/Epi guy, but that one is my favorite of all the ones you play.
Thanks buddy! I'd forgotten how much i love this song!
Superb!
Thanks a lot!
Such a great track and great tutorial. Definitely my favourite from FNM.

I was gonna say you've been going strong. Everytime I look at my box you got another song. You must not have a day job, lol. Cheers.
Haha this isn't my day job believe it or not but it's going to be a busy few weeks, got lots planned for you guys! My free time is basically this :-)
The screaming hand fits the era 😉

Thanks Andre! Good thinking, lots more covers to come!
Great stuff! I’m thinking about getting a Mexican made telecaster or Mexican strat, both new. Which one (overall) is best?

What happened with Surprise, You’re Dead, another classic of the Real Thing Album? By the way, keep on the the good work!

I have never wanted to tell someone to GTFO here as much I did when you said "zombie eaters isn't hard" followed by "it's not terribly difficult".
