I think the reason Sugar didn't try at all in the Final Tribal Council was cause she was on Survivor not for the money but for personal growth - and screwing over all the awful people that season to bring Matty and Bob to the end was her already winning way more than the prize money. Also what a power move to just own that they all hated her and judged her at first sight and not falsely appease them just for money.
Appearently she was also given some drugs before that tribal council because she had a panic attack or something on the way to the final tribal council
She didn’t try because she knew she couldn’t win. Don’t try to turn this around and say “the real win was getting back at those who wronged her” she didn’t get back at anyone. She lost because she wasn’t good at the game, pure and simple.
I love how obvious it is that not even Corinne's brother likes her. Between his awkward platitudes while she is ranting, and asking her if she has changed, it's so funny/sad how he obviously hoped she had an epiphany on that island. I feel bad for the guy, imagine having that for a sister.

Corrine is literally the only person I've ever seen that takes pride in the fact that they know they're negative. She suprisingly has more self awareness than Coach, Phillip, and Russell.
I like both Bob, Corinne and Sugar. Bob is like the ultimate pure survival skill winner which i honestly kinda respect (especially in this cast of idiots and villains). Corinne is the asshole who knows what shes about and i absolutely respect that. And Sugar is kinda the hero of the season in that, as other said, she was in a situation where everyone hated her and still survived to the end.
I actually understand Randy after hearing the story about his dog. I lost my baby boy Malcolm almost a year ago. He was a large and fluffy orange tabby who really was my son, since I will never be able to afford to have children. If I didn’t have 3 other cats and my roommate at the time, I would have let myself starve to death.
The Sugar-edit is strange. I always wondered why the players hated Sugar. For Randy, it was obvious but for Sugar we never got to see an overwhelming reason for this. I think production wanted the audience to really like Sugar so that’s why we got the edit we did. Unfortunately, all they had was footage of Sugar smiling and talking to the camera but very little positive footage of her in the game.
I think they just didn’t like her personality, they have to spend their whole time with each other so if you’re around someone you find “annoying” you’d probably exaggerate how bad they actually are
To underline how weird gabon is, normally those videos are about the best alliance of the season, but no gabon is all about hating each other and its glorious

I think she's funny but if she wasn't attractive she wouldn't be nearly as well received by audiences as she did. I could excuse the other behaviour as just wanting to be as dramatic and assholish as possible cos you cant do that in normal life but she crossed a line talking about a dead close relative.

I think Sugar is such an interesting character and honestly someone i could see myself getting along with but I hatteeddd Randy abd Corrine because they seem like pretty genuinely mean spirited people and said a few things that come off as pretty bigoted. I kind of respect the way Sugar played as if she didnt care if she won it was kind of interesting.

The thing about Crystal was, even if she had done something during her Olympics, she'd still be a very athletic athlete without anything right??? at least against these other contestants??? I would've think she'd still be a reliable challenge beast for the team, like it's so crazy to me that she's so weak in everything, didn't they go through many steps to even compete in the Olympics?? it confuses me so much.
I saw HvV before Gabon, and based on the first episode, I totally thought Sugar was a dumb blonde. Based on this, Sugar actually looks awesome and sympathetic. Shame she didn't really try harder to win in the end. I thought she was good, but she's more like Chaotic Neutral. Randy's awesome, just don't push his buttons. Not sure why he was rude to Sugar first. Corinne is just straight up toxic. Then there's Crystal, former gold medal winner later overturned for doping. Big mouth, huge letdown physically. What gets me every time is when Dan or whoever said that sending Sugar to exile was just for comedy. Then the twist of she's actually eating and chilling while her tribe is low on food. This season is just so damn cathartic and I love it.
i know its tv and all but i cant be the only one that finds a lot of the things randy was saying and doing to be genuinely kind of objectionable in a way that isnt like, Reality TV Villain entertaining.

It's like when people say that Russell deserved to win survivor samoa but the jury had spite for him. To be fair, the difference is that sugar isn't the bad guy but russell was, but survivor doesn't reward the good guys or bad guys, it rewards good jury management and thats something neither sugar nor russell had. Granted, in recent seasons juries are much more forgiving because the game has changed, but to be fair sugar wouldn't survive in a recent season just like many of the other old school players.
