    Great video. Getting out fishing with your boys is one of the greatest things you can do as a father. Need to get out with my lads again. Some of my best memories are out fishing, crabbing and camping with my Dad and my Boys. Your Lads will keep those memories forever. Can't wait for your next video. 👍

      Have you ever tried cooking mud crabs using the same method? And if you did how long did you steam for. Cheers

    In WA we check our drop pots every 15 to 20 mins or they'll likely get get chomped by something.

    • @reefsidefishing
      @reefsidefishing  10 місяців тому +1

      True, do you run the same style pots we do, in WA? ive got a couple of more reefy areas i avoid now after pots got chewed, and the octopuss loss got excessive. but mostly we get little hassel from the other wise relentless sharks in the bay.

    • @dazza152
      @dazza152 10 місяців тому

      @reefsidefishing nah our drop pots have no top on them so unfortunatly heaps of pests get in amongst it and gotta pull up quick and hard to make sure you keep your catch.

    What time of year is this catch? It certainly looks like a great feast there and I will have to give it a go to see what the taste difference is like. Nice to see you guys actually have been on the water. it would be nice if a person could buy Venison over the counter, how often do you get to go for the hunt?
    Cheers Garry

      This was shot back in July, weather has been terrible this year. We normally get out a couple if times a year to chase deer. And keep the freezer topped up

    • @AttitudeAdjuster
      @AttitudeAdjuster 9 місяців тому +1

      Can I ask, how do you select which ones to knock for the Freezer? and have you ever taken roo? just thinking of the survival side of things if the world goes tits up again.
      Also what calibre do you prefer? is there any chance you would do a video on the rigs you run for your style of hunting and the things you do for it?
      what ranges do you prefer to take the shot from?
      and how far away do you have to travel for deer?
      Cheers Garry @@reefsidefishing

    Don't you have to ice bath them after steaming / Cooking like mud crabs please. Cheers Denise- Brisbane

      @reefsidefishing  4 місяці тому

      Na i have racks that i kool them on in the night air. Apparently the iceing with muddies frees the meat from the shell. But with steaming thats already happen from the vingar and beer in the steaming liquid. Definitely the easiest crabs you have ever shelled 👌
