I pray that I am worthy to be in the Rapture. I feel the tribulation is very soon. I do pray that others will realize the times we are in and come to Jesus before it is too late. Thank you again for a great study in Matthew.

    Wow . silence in heaven!!
God's wrath scared me at one time when I first heard about it before I was Born Again.
No flesh would be saved unless the Lord steps in to save the few that are left 💥
This was something I first read while seeking the Lord in 1977. I was only 17.
I won't go into it but right after I was saved God gave me dreams and visions back in 1978 of war and fighter jets, tattooed / pierced up people and sink holes. I'm seeing it all come to pass. I'm now 62. I've got five children two that will not have nothing to do with the Lord. A gay son who uses drugs. Please pray for their salvation. I've been praying for decades. I might not see them turn to God, but I trust Jesus will save my whole house.

Hello Olivia, thank you for sharing and we are sorry to hear about your family situation. We will take a moment and join with you in faith and prayer for your kids that they would come to know Him. Lord we thank You for Olivia and her family today. Lord we lift up the two children of hers who do not know You. Lord we ask that You would make Your spirit known to them and convict them to turn to You and receive the free gift of salvation that is You Jesus Christ our blessed Hope. We pray these things in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

We are worthy to be taken up in the Rapture. Why? Because Jesus made it worthy for us by shedding His precious blood on the cross at Calvary. And so we are saved by God's grace through faith in Christ Jesus, and this not of ourselves, it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast (Eph.2:8-9). We are "Worthy" by our position in Christ Jesus. Our worthiness comes through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Matthew 24/36 'But concerning that day and the hour, nobody has known - not even the messengers of the heavens - except My Father alone. 37 But just as the days of Noah, so also will be the magisterial presence of the Son of Man 38 For just as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah went into the ark,
Ezekiel 14/13 'Son of Adam, when a land sins against Me by trespassing grievously, then I will stretch out My hand against it, and I will shatter the staff of its bread, and I will send famine on it, and cut off man and animal from it. 14 Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only their own lives by their righteousness,' declares Adonai Yahweh.
15 'If I cause dangerous animals to pass through the land [flood], and they spoil it so that it is desolate, so thar no man can pass through because of the animals, 16 even though these three men were in it, as surely as I live,' declares Adonai Yahweh, 'they will deliver neither sons nor daughters. Only they will be delivered, but the land will be desolate.
17 'Or if I bring a sword against that land, and say, "Sword, go through the land," so that I cut off man and animal from it, 18 although these three men were in it, as surely as I live,' declares Adonai Yahweh, 'they will deliver neither sons nor daughters, but only they themselves will be delivered.
19 'Or if I send a pestilence into thar land, and pour out My fury on it in blood, to cut off from it man and animal, 20 although Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as surely as I live,' declares Adonai Yahweh, 'they will deliver neither son nor daughter. They will deliver their own lives by their own righteousness.
Only the Son of Man & 2 Witnesses escape and they're killed...
Matthew 24/39 and they did not come to know until the flood came and wiped everybody out, so also will be the magisterial presence of the Son of Man.
Genesis 9/11 And I will establish My covenant with you. Neither will all flesh be cut off any longer by the waters of a flood. Nor will there ever again be a flood [of water] to destroy the Earth.'
Jeremiah 46/7 'Who is this who comes up like the Nile, whose waters are moved like the rivers? 8 Egypt rises up like the Nile and its waters are moved like rivers and he says, "I will go up to cover the land. I will destroy the city and its inhabitants."
9 Come up, you horses, and rage, you chariots, and let the mighty men come out, the Ethiopians and the Libyans who handle the shield and the Lydians who handle and bend the bow.'
10 For this is the day of Adonai Yahweh Sabaioth, a day of vengeance, so that He might avenge Himself on His adversaries, and the sword will devour, and it will be satiated an bathed with their blood, for Adonai Yahweh Sabaioth has a sacrifice [the Son of Man] in the north country by the River Euphrates.
Jeremiah 47/1 The word of Yahweh that came to the prophet Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh struck Gaza: 2 Yahweh says this:
'Look - waters rise up out of the north and they will be an overflowing flood and they will overflow the land and all its fulness, the city and those who live in it; then the men will cry and all the inhabitants of the land will howl. 3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rattling of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers, for feebleness of hands, will not look back for children, 4 because of the day that comes to spoil all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper who remains, for Yahweh will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the sea coast of Caphtor.
5 Baldness has come on Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off. Oh remnant of their valley, how long will you cut yourself?
Matthew 24/40 'Then two men will be in the field; the one will be taken[killed], and the other left. 41 Twi women will be grinding in the mill; one will be taken[killed], and the other will be left 42 'Be watchful, therefore, for you do not have any intuitive knowledge of what time your Lord comes.
Jeremiah 48/17 Mourn for him, all you who are around him, and all you who know his name, say, "How the strong staff is broken, the beautiful rod!"
[The Son of Man is killed, see Micah 6/9]
Matthew 24/43 But know this: that if the master of the house had intuitively known in which watch the thief was coming, he would have been on guard and not allowed his house to be broken into.
Jeremiah 48/40 For Yahweh says this: 'As you will see, he will fly like an eagle, and he will spread his wings over Moab.
Matthew 24/44 On account of this, you also must become ready, for the Son of Man comes in an hour you do not expect. 45 'Who, then, is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has made ruler at the head of his household, to give them food in due season?
Jeremiah 50/44 'As you will see, he will come like a lion from the swelling of the Jordan to the habitation of the strong, but I will make them run suddenly from it. And who is a chosen man I can appoint over her? For who is like Me? And who will summon Me? And who is that ruler who will stand before Me?
Matthew 24/46 Joyful is that servant whom his master, in his coming, will find doing this. 47 Truly I say to you, he will make him ruler in charge of all his property.
Ezekiel 36/5 therefore Adonai Yahweh says this: 'Surely in the fire of My jealously I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who have appointed My land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with spiteful minds, to throw it out for prey.' "
Jeremiah 49/17 'And Edom will be an astonishment. Everyone who goes by it will be astonished, and they will hiss at all its plagues. 18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors,' says Yahweh, 'no man will remain there, nor will the Son of Man live in it. 19 As you will see, he will come up like a lion from the swelling of the Jordan against the strong. But I will suddenly make him run away from her. And who is a chosen man I can appoint over the pasturage? For who is like Me? And who will summon Me? And who is that shepherd who will stand before Me?

I can't help but see the similarities between Matthew 24:30-31 and 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17. Pastor Skip says that 1 Thes 4 speaks of the Rapture of the Church, but then (in the next message) concludes that Matthew 24:30-31 is a different gathering. Both have Jesus in the air, trumpets, angels, and the gathering of believers. The sun, moon, and stars reference is also made in Revelation 6:12-17 about the sixth seal. There, the sky roles back as a scroll and the people of the earth mourn. I know Pastor Skip would agree that Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 are speaking of the same thing.
Then we have Revelation 7, where a great multitude from every nation are now in heaven. They weren't in heaven before that point, but they are in heaven after the sun, moon, and stars from chapter 6. Why are they in heaven in chapter 7? Because they just got raptured out in chapter 6.
Pastor Skip also mentioned 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 about the Antichrist declaring himself to be God in the [future] temple in Jerusalem. 2 Thessalonians 2:1 says that Paul is talking about the coming of Christ and the church being gathered to him (the rapture). That event would not take place until the abomination of desolation.
All of these passages seem to give the same conclusion: that the rapture of the church takes place in the midst of the great tribulation, not before it. It happens at the sixth seal, but before all the trumpet and bowl judgments.

I agree. I really love his teachings, but here I think he has it wrong. Matthew Ch 24 is pointing to that generation/the Jewish-Roman War 70 AD. Which matches to what Daniel was referring to in the 70th week. Jesus' ministry was the start of the 70th week. The Jewish leaders continued to rebel against the Father and delivered Jesus up to be killed. After Jesus was crucified, the Jews never repented and therefore the temple was desolated (abomination of desolation). Matthew 24:34 specifically says THIS GENERATION (around 40-years). The Olivet Discourse was taught in 31 AD, the desolation of the Jews and temple took place in 70 AD.

    Matthew 24:34
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. (KJV)
About Matthew 24, the Greek word used for "pass" in these verses is "παρέλθῃ" (parelthē), which can also be translated as "enter into" or "pass into." This broader range of meanings allows for an interpretation that the generation would not enter into or experience the fullness of the fulfillment until all the described events are accomplished. Similar to how Israel could not pass the wilderness trial and had to wander for 40 years and fail to enter God's promises, the first century Israel failed to enter into God's promises for them by rejecting Christ and his apostles and thus were sent to wander for 2000+ years until a future generation is able to pass God's requirements through faith in the Messiah. This understanding explains why the first century Israel did not pass, but failed to pass, and thus awaits future fulfillment.
However, given that the generation of Israel was poised in the first century to have the potential to receive Jesus Christ and usher in the kingdom on Earth had they received Him (Acts 3:20), the events described in Matthew 24 may have begun to take place, but not everything did. Certainly God's elect were not gathered from the four winds (Matthew 24:31) and Christ did not appear with great glory to cause all the nations on earth to mourn (Matthew 24:30), which corresponds to Revelation 1:7 “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all peoples on earth will mourn because of him." Those that pierced him, as per Zechariah 12:10, are the nation of Israel collectively, and this is clearly speaking about the 2nd coming of Christ, which no Christian should try to argue is a historical event, as we are still waiting the coming of the Lord and our gathering together unto him.
    2 Thessalonians 2:1
"Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him (our blessed hope), we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us-whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter-asserting that the Day of the Lord (book of Revelation, nightmare on earth) is at hand." If those who preach 70 AD are correct, then the Day of the Lord (destruction of Jerusalem?) was absolutely at hand when Paul was writing. However, the Day of the Lord, which is what Joel speaks of in Joel 2, is what Peter quotes in Acts 2 explaining to the Jews what is happening. However if you read Joel 2 carefully it says starting in verse 27
"Then you will know that I am in Israel,
that I am the Lord your God,
    and that there is no other;
never again will my people be shamed.
    “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams"
So the fulfillment of Joel 2 happens after Israel is reconciled fully to God and are never again put to shame. The nation of Israel was put to horrific shame in 70 AD and God is not presently dwelling with Israel in their midst, as Israel has forsaken God and rejected His Messiah and spent 2000 years in scattered exile and judgment. Joel 2 was about to come to pass in the first century, the beginnings of it were evidenced by the pouring out of God's Spirit, but the fulfillment of it did not take place in full in the first century, but was postponed to a future generation. Peter, acknowledging that people will scoff at this idea says:
    2 Peter 3:4
They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”
    Peter goes on to explain that if you want to understand the longsuffering of God and why these events did not take place;
    2 Peter 3:15
Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.
Paul's letters explain why God did not bring upon the nation of Israel in the first century the completion of their prophesied end times, because Israel fell (Romans 11:11). God will not bring about the fulfillment of the promises made to that nation until they are good and ready to receive all that God has for them, and that begins by them acknowledging Jesus Christ as their Messiah. So the obstinance and refusal of Israel has benefited the world for 2000 years, putting a pause on Israel's prophetic program until "the fullness of the Gentiles be come in" (Romans 11:25). Then God will return and save Israel "as it is written" in the scriptures of the prophets and as Jesus himself said would happen.

The Spirit Of Truth is the eyes of the Holy Ghost, which is a extension of the mind of God made manifest in the flesh, if you have seen the spirit of grace, you have seen The Spirit Of Truth.

The fig tree is not specifically Israel- The people alive to see the 1948 return of Israel is not the last generation prior to the rapture and or return of Jesus at the 2 nd coming
Those who see the cosmic signs, abomination of desolation ,events in succession during the Tribulation etc they will be the last generation and will know based on the fig tree example the buds=sign of the times prior to the Trib, the leaves ( possibly) come out during the Trib, the fruit ( grapes of wrath) come out during the Trib and the harvest is at the end of the age at the 2 coming of Jesus with His bride The church - the fig tree example is a time period following from bud to harvest can be seen by the last generation ( 7 years)

Love Pastor Skip. Sat under his ministry for 25 years. Sad to see though, that he is still preaching a pre- trib rapture. The disciples asked Jesus about his return and he uttered not a word about 2 comings. He uttered not a word about coming to rapture the church and then coming again to set up his kingdom. Nowhere in scripture does it speak of Jesus coming back to the earth and then going back to heaven w/o coming down to the earth to set up his Kingdom. I Thess 4 speaks of the rapture. It neither says that he comes down to the earth or goes back to heaven after we meet him in the clouds. To conclude that he goes back to heaven is pure eisegesis . If you want to know whether he came down to earth or went back to heaven when we are taken up to meet him in the air, just look to the other scriptures speaking of his return. All of them teach that he comes down to earth and begins to rule and reign from Jerusalem. None of them speak of him taking us out and returning to heaven. There are not 2 second comings.
I know Pastor Skip tries to use John 14 to say that Jesus is coming back and will take his disciples with him back to heaven. The problem with that is John never says such a thing. He says in John 14:3, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." You must read into the text that Jesus will go back to heaven and that is where he will be. The obvious question is, where will Jesus be when he comes back and takes us to be with him. The scriptural answer is that he will be in Jerusalem ruling and reigning as King of kings and Lord of lords. He will take us to be with him to reign with him. (Rev 20:4)
Just one last point. To believe in a pre-trib rapture, you must believe in the (false) doctrine of the imminent return of Christ. You must believe that Jesus could come back at any moment to snatch you away. You must believe that there are no signs of this event and that there is absolutely nothing that needs to happen before Christ returns to take you up into the clouds to meet him in the air. In other words, you will have no idea when this will happen. Contrary to this philosophy, Jesus was plain in Matt 24 that there were many things that must happen before his return. Paul is even more explicit in 2 Thess 2 that the day of the Lord, the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him (the rapture), cannot happen until the great apostasy happens and the man of sin is revealed.
If you believe that Jesus could come at any moment, then you will be surprised when he comes because (as pre-tribbers believe), there are NO SIGNS of a pre-trib rapture. This puts you squarely in the camp with the unbelievers. They are the ones that will be surprised like a thief in the night. Believers, however, will not be surprised. "But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief." 1Th 5:4 We will be fully aware that the return is very near when we see the great apostasy, the man of sin, and the events of Matthew 24 and Revelation being fulfilled before our eyes. We will not be in darkness but will know that the return is very near, at the very door.
Jesus and Paul both taught that things must happen before his return. John Darby taught that there would be 2 returns and there are zero signs of Christ's 2nd coming. There would be signs of his 3rd coming. You choose whom you want to believe.

Much could be addressed with your comments, but in short, let's go over just a few points you're wanting to make...
_" Nowhere in scripture does it speak of Jesus coming back to the earth and then going back to heaven w/o coming down to the earth to set up his Kingdom."_
You're right, He DOESN'T come back to earth @ the rapture...we rise to meet Him in the air. You provided the answer y/self in bringing up *John 14:3* where it says, "John 14:3, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and *will take you to myself,* that where *I am* you may be also."
You see, Christ is in heaven currently. You're wanting to scrub heaven out of our future. In that verse it's clear, that we go to CHRIST, He doesn't come to us.
Then there's two different events mentioned from *I Thess **4:13**,* through *I Thess 5:1,2ff...*
In chapter 4 Paul had to teach them of the rapture, for he said, " But I would not have you to be IGNORANT, brethren...", yet in the _VERY NEXT FEW VERSES_ we find Paul saying, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, YE HAVE NO NEED that I write unto you. For yourselves KNOW PERFECTLY that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night." & he further details the tribulation & 2nd coming. *(I Thess 5:1,2)*
Is it not accurate to say that we can't be IGNORANT, & LEARNED about the same matter? Are we not either KNOWLEDGEABLE or ignorant of s/thing...needing information, or have all the facts...clueless, or understanding?
All the best to you in your search for truth, *MARANATHA!*

The disciples ask Jesus about the sign of His return in Matt. 24:3, in Mark 13:3 the disciples are identified as the apostles Peter, James, John, and Andrew. These were the very earliest of the church fathers. These wrote 1st & 2nd Peter, 1st, 2nd, 3rd John, the book of James, and the book of Revelation. Jesus was speaking directly to the church!

Matthew 24 says no such thing of Jesus coming twice or that this is His coming with the church. this idea that what Jesus spoke to the jews was only for the jews is ludicrous because that means Jesus didn't say much to the gentiles and we should ignore most things he said, except i guess what He said to Pilate. also, those jews (the apostles) are also part of the church, so same argument can applied the other way, that everything Jesus said to the apostles was for the church and not the jews. why don't we just take what Jesus says literally and stop allegorically deducing meaning. BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!

  • @ryanthiessen4562

Totally disagree. Jesus was absolutely talking to 4 of His disciples, followers of Christ, the ones who will build the church. He had just give instructions about the church in Matt 16:18; 18:15-17. Jesus was preparing these men to build the church and He says they will deliver "YOU" to Tribulation (v.9a). Would the disciples not qualify for being caught up in a pre trib rapture? Look at verse 5 will unbelieving Jews be misled by a false Christ? They are already misled and they are in a position to follow a man who claims to be the man they reject. Verse 9b says they will be hated by all nations because of Jesus. I don't know why anyone would be hated by people who reject Jesus because they reject Jesus. That makes no sense. Verse 10 says many will fall away at that time. Can unbelieving Jews fall away? No. It's clear who this chapter is about. Daniel 12:1 even says its those whose names are found written in the book. Galatians 3:16, 29 says we are Abraham's seed and v. 28 says there's no distinction between Jew or Gentile. This pre trib rapture nonsense needs to stop it's deceiving people into following the beast and receiving his mark. Matt 24:29-31 is the rapture.

Ryan, rightly divide your word: we r the body of Christ we r not Israel. Mathew 18 , Mathew 24, 25, Mark 13, Luke 21 is all a rupture to the list sheep of Israel not the body of CHRIST. The Body of CHRIST does not even exist to after acts 9:15 and Paul's conversion: he was given The despensation of GRACEWe witness this in Ephesians 3:1-11, you r speaking of the Jewish prophe cied church, not the body of Christ CHURCH.
Paul's Grace church both he time and Jew alike, though was predominately gentiles because of Israel's rejection.
Mathew 24chas nothing to do with the rapture the 2 in the field r not the rapture, but the sheep and goat JUDGEMENT concerning Israel upon a tering the kingdom.
Remember Paul's gospel of the DBR and the rapture where both called a mystery , hid in God u til Paul. Jesus Mathew 24 was several years b4 the gospel of GRACE or rapture given to PAUL , if it was called a MYSTEEEEEEEEEEERY, that means it was not revealed during Jesus earthly ministry years earlier, how do people miss THAT.
Did you here him say the gospel of the kingdom and then the end will come, that's Israel's promises not the body of Christ : your gospel in the 4 gospels is under law full of commandments , sabbatgsand works like baptisms, Acts 2:38, Mark 15:16, . We r under grace not the law: I'm not trying to bash you bit you r in jesus earthly program given to Israel not r heavenly program given to Paul.

@@ronaldpoindexter5048 I dont think you read my comment with intent to understand. You clearly have failed to understand with Israel means in the NT. To understand this read the parable of the vinedressers in Matt 21, read Roman 11 and Galatians 3 and you will see that Jesus said that the kingdom of God will be taken from the Jews and given to those who will produce fruit. There is no future dispensation for the Jews. There is one true vine and it consists of believers. There is only one way to be saved and that applies to all people including the Jews.
