Yep they say we need to get rid of gas and oil. They’re so uneducated and closed minded that they don’t realize that there’d be no electricity(can’t charge your phone….oh no) no shipping their toys off Amazon, no short buses, no mommy’s basement gaming….etc. Foresty is a solid man and that’s why the rest of us solid men/women like him and his personality!
I agree. Although, I can appreciate wanting to ensure views as the channel is a revenue stream that pays his bills, Forest also needs to make videos he enjoys making.

It's amazing how a 14 hour hike can feel like nothing, but if you were back in the factory working 12 hour+ days it kills you.
that's a great point, you're only ever left with a bit of soreness but you feel great after even the most grueling hikes and a full day of droning through work can really make you feel bad.
it's probably because there are no such beautiful landscapes in the factory.
Wow! New to this idea, but 14hr hikes? Yikes! But, yes, much better than 14hrs on a job. I have a treadmill, but walk outside. The outdoors is invigorating.
Please don't stop hiking. That's why I watch. The shots are incredible and inspiring. The views are amazing. The last thing I want is another talking head channel that does nothing. Just be safe and keep using good judgement.

The difficulty of the hikes this guy does is severely underrated. He puts up big miles over very difficult terrain on a weekly basis. Very impressive! Stay safe out there.

Guys Foresty does this all by himself. Appreciate the effort put forth to get those multiple camera angles. These mountains he scales are almost as big as his ginormous balls of steel.

Every episode I am in awe of the time and commitment to get the shots of the van rolling through these remote places, setting up the camera and backtracking to get the panoramic hiking shots, etc. Truly impressive and high quality. Other van life channels are gimmicky, over the top, formulaic and boring. The combination of gorgeous scenery and hikes with the curiosity factory of what it's like to live in a van full time is what makes this channel unique.
Keep doing what you love. Don’t make the channel about catering to everyone’s interests. This is all around great content and easily one of my favorite channels to watch from the comfort of my home, haha.
I'm 68 and fascinated with the idea of van living. You're absolutely right when you say that the other channels run out of things to talk about. Yours is the only one I still watch because it's different. For what its worth, I hope you keep it up.

Vanity Vanlife/chrome are not an enjoyable channel to me. Way too much hyper exclaiming at the camera about nothing and so much fluff without any real nature/hiking/camping, its just him talking for 10 minutes dramatically about a piece of wood that fell off in his van on the last drive or something. Don't know how that dude and his cute dog manage to keep so many viewers. The content is just bad
Scaling 118 peaks in the Canadian mountains is no small feat. No one else does that and video tapes it for us to watch. It's a real gift to the world.

Forestry could go on for ages with his kind of content because bits so different to what anyone else is doing, if he doesn't kill himself or disappear on one of his hikes
I still dream of van life, and Foresty’s channel is the one I stick to following like glue. Realism at its finest, with way more adventure than I could enjoy!

Wild Caught lamb sausage is the best. Only real angers manager to land them perhaps once or twice in their lifetime.
I love the mix of van stuff with hiking/mountaineering. I feel like everyone who falls into van life just for the sake of van life or "wanderlust" end up having a bad time because it's just living out of a car for no reason. Having a reason for it, like climbing these insane mountains is what keeps it interesting.
That hike was an incredible excursion. How could people not enjoy that?
I'm sure others are doing van life while bushwhacking to remote mountains to climb them, but I don't know who they are. Foresty is the OG of this niche! Don't follow the crowd of van builds, stick to what brings you joy! =)

I enjoy the videos the way they are - about van life AND nature. It is like doing the things that van life allows you to, plus the footage is stunning. I really like the hikes, and you got me thinking about doing some too, so keep it up
Foresty Forest is like a hyped up Tarzan.
He plays in the wildlife for hours on end, a hiking, a bushwhacking, through rivers and creeks, climbs the highest Canadian mountains, swings from peak to peak, goes bananas for food with a good beer, and eats like a King of the Great White North. But he always heads back home at the end of the day in the arms of his sweetheart Jane Van Porter.
You'll never please everyone. Just keep your channel the way it is. I like everything.

Plot twist foresty has a 20 man camera crew with him at all times helicopter in case the need for rescue at any given point lol jk

I second this. The cinematography and scenery are worthy of quadruple the subscribers you have. BBC Earth and NatGeo level stuff. The van and simple living are nice bonuses, and these subscribers may be the most vocal, but but the hiking and nature cinematography are what’s drawing me and others to your channel.

I totally agree. I started watching LtVL and initially found his very good, but like you, stopped subscribing as he became too repetitive, and even his new 4x4 conversion I found ‘staged’ and uninteresting. Now FF I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every video and can’t wait for new videos, adventures, interesting take on cooking, and of course his personality and humour. 😃
@@tonyw60334 Chad's editing, shot making and drone video of his drives is impressive but once he gets to his destination he does the same thing making camp and cooking. Little variety. this is where FF takes over and takes his viewers to places only. Few people can & will go. Simon is a true modern day adventurer and we get to join him!

All those other channels show me stuff that "I" can do. You show me stuff I "can't" do. For each of your adventures, I always pinpoint the moment when I'd quit. It's always early. You even go much further than I would cooking. Like when you browned off the wings. I would have wanted them browned off, but I would not have done it. I would have eaten them right out of the crock pot. No channel compares to what you do. And you did almost all of it on a phone.
I love Canada and its nature and I certainly hope you won’t change the content of your videos FF. The majority of the other vanlife channels are slowly but surely turning into commercial channels. I understand why they do it but i sincerely hope you keep your channel the way it is. Visiting my friends in Alberta next year, can’t wait to be out in the Rockies again. I am here for the whole experience - the van style, the build, the way of life, cooking and hiking with the unreal shooting and views. With time, I realised, that is more and more about the actual personality, so I would probably watch even if you do a whole episodes on washing socks and hiking gear :D Jokes aside, just enjoy your life, and whoever is not comfortable with this... it is simply not your problem. Hey man you are right about the other van dwellers running out of things to say. The difference between them and you is each video you set a goal, stick to it, and achieve it. Instead of bablling about nothing. You are doing a good job promoting the outdoors and beauty of the landscape with those sweet drone shots.
Re: too much hiking footage? Your mix of subject matter gives your channel it's personality. I'm cool with it. The cooking, the hiking, the climbing, the fat-tire bike, the van-related, the occasional supporting role from another person, it's a pretty unique mix. Just my opinion, but like I said, I'm cool with it.

Should get yourself a small Jackery Battery Charger if you don't have one. Comes in handy in a pinch and def helps with gaming recharging lol. Love the hikey stuff too brutha, makes it seem like a journey that you take us on, so ignore the haters.
