  • A historic lifeboat returning to its home port for the first time in nearly 50 years was escorted by RNLI lifeboats from Sunderland, Tynemouth and Hartlepool. They provided a guard of honour as former Seaham lifeboat George Elmy sailed back into her home port on Sunday 23 June 2013 for the first time since tragically capsizing in 1962 with the loss of nine lives.

What a marvelous job you have done! It is kind of sad to see it go to it's dwelling tough.
I watched just about every video and, o goodness... how much I wished to be there helping out. One can't help to fall in love with such a wonderful boat.
My best wished for all of you, and much prosperity in the new jobs to come!
