[Hokkaido] Encountering a Bear on a Scenic Drive & Touring Roadside Stations!

- Join us on our Hokkaido camper van journey! When you think of Hokkaido, you think of breathtaking scenery, delicious food, and... bears.
In recent years, bear sightings have been on the rise, but I was completely shocked when one appeared right in front of us! Its fur was so fluffy! 😆
At one of the roadside stations, we came across our new favorite shochu, made from potatoes. It has a nice barrel-aged aroma, similar to whiskey. Discovering tasty treats like this is one of the joys of camper van travels!
During our car camping, we enjoyed some delicious "Hanasaki crab" that we bought in Nemuro. It made for the perfect night.
Have you ever been to Shiretoko? The Shiretoko Crossing Road, which takes you through the World Heritage site of Shiretoko, leads to Cape Shiretoko. You’ll witness the grandeur of nature, with sights like Mt. Rausu and untouched forests. Unlike more accessible places like Sapporo or Otaru, getting to Shiretoko is a bit of a challenge, even with a camper van. But because of its remoteness, you’ll experience nature in its most magnificent form. The vast scenery was truly a sight to behold! It’s in moments like these that I feel grateful for the freedom of camper van travel. 😊
Shiretoko Five Lakes has an elevated boardwalk that allows you to leisurely stroll through the heart of nature. Surrounded by open skies, expansive grasslands, distant mountains, the sea, and tranquil lakes, it’s a great way to relax and let your mind rest in the simplicity of nature. The paths are well-maintained, making it safe and enjoyable for elderly visitors as well. While walking along the boardwalk, we even came across some deer!

Hello! We’re vanBeelife!
We began our travels with overnight stays in a mini-van, exploring places like Kyoto and Shikoku. However, we soon realized we needed more space, so we upgraded to a Hiace camper van (known as a "VanCon").
Amazed by its spaciousness, we embarked on journeys through Kyushu and the Chugoku region!
Our journey to Hokkaido in August 2021 was when we first started uploading our travel adventures on UA-cam. That's when we decided to create this channel to share our amazing travels with everyone. こんばんは。知床連山🏔️もくっくり見えてましたね～。素晴らしい。私3度も行ってるのですが山容が見えた試しが有りません。😢勿論熊🐻にも会った事無いです。知床は人間より熊の数が多いと言われてますよね。車窓からなら見てみたいな。羨ましいです。車中飯グルメ極まりましたね!花咲蟹って味が濃いですよね。おひょうにじゃがいも🥔焼酎は未経験ですが美味しそうでした。🥲🦀🐟️🍶

今回の旅で森の中も歩いてますのでその時でなくて本当に良かった…💦
車の中から見たヒグマは丸くて可愛かったです笑

自分にとっての知床は羅臼側。斜里側は世界自然遺産になってからは観光地化しましたね。
道の駅浜小清水(網走と斜里の間)よく利用します。本当の意味で駅です。近くに温泉もあります。たまに聞こえる踏切の音、懐かしい感じがします。

我が家は今回が初！知床でした…
圧倒的な自然を目にしたり、ヒグマ遭遇などいい体験をしました！
思った以上に、知床五湖は綺麗に整備されていて歩きやすかったです！
観光客も多そうですね…
羅臼も行きます！
次回のUA-camも観て頂けるとうれしいです😆
清里焼酎はパパスランド札弦から（6ｋｍ）5分くらい走った右側の工場で作っています。
19：49の左側の道が岩尾別温泉に行く道で、すぐ左下の川にもよくヒグマがあらわれます。

じゃがいも焼酎(樽)が美味しすぎて大瓶をもう1本買いました！
あの辺りはヒグマが多く出る場所なんですね…

北海道で、今まで見たことがない圧倒的な大自然の景色を目にしました！
地球の中の大自然がもたらす資源に人は生かされていて、食物連鎖もその中の１つだと思います🌎
ヒグマが絶対的な悪者ではないのですが…目の前にすると怖いです…🫣
