I've been through about 10 videos on this and this is the first one that works, and is easy to understand, without taking 25 minutes. Thank you. Subscribed.
Gosh you made this seem so easy, I can't believe it. Had someone at work showing us concatenate in suuuuch a complicated way that I could never remember all those steps. Thank you!
This is the 2nd video of yours which I have used to brush up on my Excel skills which had become rusty. The previous video was about Basic Excel Shortcuts. This video was precise, simple to follow and very helpful. Thanks Kevin and keep sharing your videos and I have subscribed to your channel so that I do not miss them. Take care and stay safe during these trying times.
Thanks a ton, Kevin. Your lesson is as precious as a million dollar lottery ticket. I am going to save 100s of manhours because of your lesson. I am an online tutor ,by the way. Thanks once again.
Thanks God I saw this content, really helped me create a simple content for the needs of children during the pandemic, every mother suffer and back to school for two years now.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you, I spent hours last night trying to figure out how to concatenate. I watched your video and did it in 10 minutes! YOU can teach an old dog new tricks :)
Hey, just wanted to give a quick thanks for this video. I'm doing an intro to excel course and the audio for the other one was god awful so I looked for an alternative and found yours. Very easy to follow, the choice of diction was good and you didn't just zoom through, thank you.
Another GREAT resource for aspiring executives is a piece titled The Hatchet Man's Playbook - a LOT of eye-popping, non-obvious stuff! Can't recommend it highly enough!
Hi Kevin, thanks for the video. They are very useful and I really like your voice and how you articulate the content in Excel. Greetings from Singapore
Kevin, thanks for the tip.. I don't use Excel that often and I just can never remember this.. One thing I think you forgot to mention is that if you delete the first two columns, the function breaks. After doing the concat, you need to 'copy/paste values' to another new column. Thanks!
oh my gosh, you can undo it if that happens right? I woulda cried if that happened to me with lots of data 🤣 I am new to excel and I swear I can't "undo" mistakes a lot of the time..
The last function you did, adding a space instead of the quotation marks works, but it doesn't allow for me to populate that function for all the spaces below, at least not on Excel for Mac. Great video though!
hi i been watching your videos and they have help me a lot as i work with excel, i need you to cover a topic of how to make a single cell in excel work like a notepad with a click of a butten to view & edit customer history and and save the data in that cell.
Many thanks for that tip. Is there a way however to reverse it ? What I mean is, supposing I had a sheet full of names in one cell e.g. Billy Bell. I now need a cell for Billy and a cell for Bell. so that I can apply a sort filter. Is there a way to achieve that without having to start all over again?
I'm in HR...after so long, & my excel skills are as rusty as an old, creaky iron gate 😂 However, your video is simple & helpful. We have a common set of formulas that our team uses to consolidate data. Im still struggling with how to copy paste those formulas into the cells.
I need to extend the formula to rows 10, 11, 12 etc, do when new strings are input there, I should see the combined string in column C. But if col A and B are blank, col C should also remain blank without converting blank spaces to numbers. Can you show how to do that ?
very useful tutorial, just to ask whats the problem with my excel I'm trying to autofill but brings the same answer subsequently what might be the problem Kevin help
Was wondering if there is a way to concat 20 cells in each row but not all have data in them. Is there an easy way to do the formula and not have a semi-colon and space in the return value with nothing included? Can I have it only show the cells with data.
Awesome Tutorial! Your videos have helped me greatly. Thank you! I wonder if there is a general code to keep ANY formatting that was in the cell that is being concatenated. (ie: If I have a questionnaire with questions and data that contain a mix of dates, numbers and written answers.) After the grouping, I would want to keep Date formats, number formats and general text formats too. Without having to go to each formula and adjust the text(xx,______ section for each different one. Does such a formula or function exist?
Kevin, Hey I have a question for you man. Can you do a tutorial on how you (Specifically You) record your audio and how you edit? Please. PS: I've only watched 2 episodes and i'm hooked. I love your videos/anything and everything to do with Tech and electricity.
Is there a way to concatenate the values from two cells with different formatting such that there are two different formats? For your example, maybe the last name was bold and the first name was not. I would want the result to have only the last name in bold.
Hi, I have a query you may be able to help me with. For example, in column A, we have reference numbers, some of which are duplicated in column A. In column B, every entry is unique, so some of the duplicate reference numbers in column A are in alignment with different items in column B on different rows. Is it possible to remove the duplication from column A but to keep the data in column B all on the one row.
Very helpful; however, my ultimate goal is to upload a .csv file to an online printer with only the necessary data for a mailing. I can't seem to use the column I created with the first & last name outside of this sheet because it is utilizing the formula tied to the original cells. Is there a way to use this new column in a new sheet?
How do I get the date to format properly when I use concatenate. Also, when I try to use concatenate and there is a character in the subscript it doesn't show up like it should. For example if you typed the abbreviated version of oxygen "O2" the 2 should be in the subscript. Please help me with these two tasks.

Very important! This missing piece of information in this otherwise very helpful tutorial was driving me nuts.
oh my gosh, you can undo it if that happens right? I woulda cried if that happened to me with lots of data 🤣 I am new to excel and I swear I can't "undo" mistakes a lot of the time..
@@Eeriefee you can undo that, yes. Take care :)

How I can do CONCAT when I have different format in Column A (Bold text) and Column B (Italic Text), and I want to keep that difference in column C?
Kevin, really good and instructive videos. Do you have something about VCF to excel and back?
NICE and clear

Hello, I would like to use this function for only two variables that has a running total. Can you please show me how I can do this for my job? thanks
This is even funner when you have to combine a "TEXT" formula to limit the decimal digits if a non-integer number is combined with word text!
I'm in HR...after so long, & my excel skills are as rusty as an old, creaky iron gate 😂 However, your video is simple & helpful. We have a common set of formulas that our team uses to consolidate data. Im still struggling with how to copy paste those formulas into the cells.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I do have a question, how many cells can you concat? Say enough to create a large paragraph?
You can do exactly the same, even more easily using Flash Fill, where you don't need to write formula or worry about space.
I need to extend the formula to rows 10, 11, 12 etc, do when new strings are input there, I should see the combined string in column C. But if col A and B are blank, col C should also remain blank without converting blank spaces to numbers. Can you show how to do that ?
Would you also upload a video on how to perform v look up and pivot table. Thank you
very useful tutorial, just to ask whats the problem with my excel I'm trying to autofill but brings the same answer subsequently what might be the problem Kevin

Thank you this was very informative, however the last option E space instead of " " is giving me error
Thank you bro!!!! ✊😁😁

take some rest Kevin. you look sleep deprived.
thanks Kevin.
Best uses of when to use left, right, mid and trim would be good 😊
What is the shortest way to add commas to separate the first name from the last in the final combined form?
What if you have one cell with last, first names and you want to break/separate them into 2 cells with first and last names?

So I have to copy those full names into another spreadsheet how does that work without getting faults?
