Useful review. Have done 8000kms in last 6 months on this & trust me it's a very versatile machine - real joy on the high way & also great fun in the hills. It can even do some mild offroading & found no issues at an altitude of 15k feet during my recent ride to Arunachal... approx highway mileage is 28 to 32 kmpl & in city it gives around 20 to 23kmpl.
Dude...you sound so down to earth like a true biker.... don't ever change your style of presenting. If no-one has told you yet..you have crossed the mark from amatuer to pro reviewer. Keep this up and you have great places to go
I had one last summer rode 1800 miles. Easy to ride, easy to live with and excellent engine. Pure motorcycling but a little expensive in Europe retails for 8000 USD and no discount. Well. Let’s see what RE does next with this great engine. Seriously, it’s all about THIS engine.
I am not a bike rider but the way Raj was explaining his bike, kept me interested in understanding what all was done. I really liked how simply and nicely you explained. Keep it up buddy! More power to you. Cheers.
Nice review mate, the RE twins just got announced in Brazil's motorcycle event yesterday, it's way cheaper then triumph's classics available here. I'm very excited to drive those bikes, regards from Brazil.
I think you made all the valid points, this might be a bit overwhelming for city only rides and if you are coming from a 150-200CC. Give it some time and accept its character, it is quite FUN. That's what this bike is in one word.
Hey Raj! That was a great walk-around video. I am also a fellow Interceptor rider and have been a big fan of your videos. I too have the same issue with the fuel indicator, it's COMPLETELY inaccurate. I did inform the service centre but no positive response so far. Let me know if there is a common forum where I can put this forward and get Royal Enfield to actually pay attention. And hey, why not a video on the soft update that has been done on the Interceptor since September 2019. Minor but still may seem cool. Keep up the good job and keep riding!
A heartiest thanks 🙏 to you my dear brother from the very depths of my heart for giving us this awesome information about one of my beloved classic interceptor 650 twin. Your feedback is quite informative and honest and very very useful for all the bike lovers. I am also a proud owner of interceptor 650 twin in custom ravishing red colour and believe me the bike looks stunning and I am really in love with my beloved bike and I mostly ride my bike on weekends especially Sunday mornings. May god almighty always blesses you with health wealth and prosperity and happiness and a healthy life full of love and blessings and guffaws of laughter. A millions and millions of tons of love and blessings from Punjab especially Amritsar city. Please do keep up the good work.
@@imfaith99 None so far. Its a good engine. The break pads wear about in 2500 km. I had the chain sprocket set with chain changed free of cost and clutch adjusted. Thats about all. Engine is fabulous.
I'm in Oklahoma, USA. I have riding Harley 883L for 12 years. The VTwin heats up real good. It is air cooled and muscle bike. So dont worry about heat. I use 20W-50 oil.
Back in the day, we did not have tubeless tires. They were not possible until we started getting mag wheels around 1980. These bikes would not look right with mag wheels.
@@elbinp Because the spokes go through the rim and are not air tight. There are some special designs that to not have the spokes penetrate the rim and can use tubeless tires, but they are very rare and expensive.
@@elbinp Take a look at these beauties. www.bikehps.com/acatalog/info%2dKineo%5fWire%5fSpoked%5fWheels%5fTriumph%5fBonneville%5fT120%5fBlack%5f2016%5fonwards%2ehtml
Good one Raj. I rarely like bike reviews. I have owned 5 bullets in last 38 years. Thinking of an interceptor now. Wondering if I shud yet buy myself another Buller or this. Let's connect. Best...
Nice video, and modifications too. About heating, the bikes compared here have liquid cooled engines. This is a retro motorcycle with a air and oil cooled engine. The exterior of the engine is designed to have more surface area, through which the air flows absorbing the heat and cooling the engine. The hot air rider feels is part of the normal cooling mechanism and not a defect :) this is less apparent in liquid cooled engines. Unlike modern, performance oriented bikes which go up to 10K or more RPM, Retro motorcycles with big displacement usually don't require liquid cooling because they mostly work on lower RPM. Also air cooled engine looks more retro.
Classic 350 or intersepter 650 which is better because I ride somthing 50 km per day and Ill go for a riding log trip so I asked question sir kya better hoga mere liye intersepter ya 350
Pivot Risers for the handle bar is certainly a must for the interceptor,it was the first thing i noticed when taking a test drive at the worli showroom.Silencers are quite high up and will certainly be an agni pariksha for the pillion passenger.A key defect i have noticed in the interceptor has been that its been too "leanly" tuned, the AFR certainly needs to be made richer and that will immediately result in a much cooler running engine.(one can use a piggy back like powertronic that will surely sort this issue and increase power or a cheaper solution is just get a remap done from the company if possible) I wish this bike was a 750 straight from the start instead of a 600 cc.
You really mentain your bike well. I like it. Superb accessories collection you have on your bike. The way it looks simple is the best. I love re intercepter 650 cc. It is my dream bike now. I want to have it in future. I love the simplicity of bike it looks. I own rtr200 and 160...the old one.
Check the fuel on flat groud when statonary at lights or parked up with the bike in total upright position. A booster plug may help cool the motor as they run lean from factory. I believe the gear shift leaver, Brake leaver would be better cast metal intead of flat plate. I believe adjustable clutch leavers would be a favored modification like the Triumph Bonnevilles have. A more free flowing exahust is also a good mod to go with the booster plug. The lower scratch plate is a very good idea as well as the crash bars. The wind screen is a good mod as well. I put an O-ring chain on as well.
Ok,as you would expect, I didn't understand everything you said but I think I got the gist of it ! I really enjoyed this and thanks for sharing. When I get mine I'd like to able to have the use of GPS as I drive a lot in London and it's easy to get lost! Any ideas?
Very useful review Sirji…. I am planning to buy an Interceptor 650. Moving from KTM 390. So was really skeptical about it but your review clarified most of my doubts. Thanks. And yes, loved your Yakuza. Cheers!! Would like to understand more if which are the best suited tyres for this bike.
Friend, in the catalogue at Saharaseats, exactly what color brown is that? It looks much darker than the browns in their online catalogue, but still lighter than black.

I feel it’s more for young people coz it has too much of raw power. So now I am planning to buy a bike more comfortable for me as I am 5”7 and 41 age.i don’t go for long rides just weekend rides of 100 kms. So you suggest me to go for interceptor or can you suggest me any other bike? Comfort is my thing.👍
Nice selection of extras Raj ... you have good taste in picking good bits for the bike. Royal Enfield should be employing you as a product development manager (or some other credentials).
Even I got a burn on my left leg while I was a pillion riding from Bangalore to Krishnagiri Dam in Tamil Nadu. Hi Raj I have been riding my Interceptor daily to Office Malad Mindspace from Naigaon Vasai.
