Hey guys. As an indian, really appreciate the love. Would recommend you guys in the future to review the mahavir singh v/s babita (father v/s daughter) scene in the film. Its genuinely my favorite wrestling scene ever shown on film.
Now, also a little synopsis for the people who haven't seen the film. Dangal is basically king richard. Its a story about a father wanting his daughters to win a gold in wrestling. Before getting into the scene a little background of indian culture. In india, one of the incentives provided by government to people in any sports is that if they reach a particular level in any sports (like state level, district level, etc.) gets, based on their accolades a civil job which is a permanent job at any civil department. The scene that the guys reviewed is at the start of the film where the other guy is taunting aamir khan's character of wrestling as he was a state level wrestling champion which means that he got the job bcoz he either reached till the state level or won state level championship. He finds out that aamir khan's character was also a wrestler. But he thinks that aamir khan was an amateur level or district level wrestler. So when they started wrestling, you could see why he thought it was so embarassing to be beaten by somebody he thought was less pro than him. But at the end he gets surprised by finding out that aamir khan's character was a national level player but couldn't move any further bcoz of his family condition and had to give up on his dream of winning a gold medal in wrestling.
I hope my rambling helps people a little bit. And thanks again guys for reviewing a bollywood scene. As an indian it feels great, whenever our films gets any recognition other than 100 people dancing in beautiful clothes.

I can really relate to the story Pak told about the fear after slamming an attacker on the concrete. In my case, it wasn't a slam, but a standing elbow and the guy hit his head really hard on the ground afterwards. At first, I was scared of getting hurt, then scared of losing my freedom, but thankfully the guy wasn't as badly hurt as I thought, and I wasn't arrested since I wasn't the aggressor. Point being, it's a scary world out there, so be ready. And don't be "that guy." Slams, elbows, and concrete all hurt and an intimate encounter with all of the above should be avoided at all costs. Great breakdown as always! I particularly enjoy everyone's humor and winning personalities.

When I was in sixth grade, my class took a field trip to the zoo. The class bully decided to follow me around and make me as miserable as possible. I put up with him for a couple of hours, trying to ignore him, but he kept getting in my face. Finally, I lost my temper and shoved him as hard as I could. That's all it was; a one-armed push, not a punch, not a takedown. Unfortunately, he wasn't expecting it, so he went flying; and there was a cinderblock wall only a few feet away. I can still, almost 30 years later, remember the cracking sound his skull made on the cement. He went DOWN without a word and just lay there for the longest few seconds of my life.
Thank goodness, he wasn't badly hurt, as it turned out, but that fear stayed with me and has left me extremely leery of physical confrontations ever since.

I've been in Kyokushin karate previously for years and of course, did have the conditioning.
He was having difficulty in breathing ig... (was trembling on the ground, couldn't make a sound) I did that one action (grabbed his legs and pushed them fowards slowly multiple times) that sensei did on me when I had received the first punch on the hook by my bestie and it ended up alright fortunately.
All thoes stuffs did make me realise that I gotta be careful now.

The one thing I’d say that Judo has against wrestling is that they have the gi’s which is good for training for clothing grips since cuz ya know everybody wears clothes in the street lol. But wrestling is just as good to adapt into street fight because they don’t rely on the clothing grips to execute their throws and takedowns. Wrestling also has alot more variety in takedowns/throws since they can attack the legs while in judo you can’t. And Judo and wrestling are basically the same it’s just that Judo have jackets and different stances, that’s why their no such thing as No Gi judo because it’s wrestling.

Thanks for the great breakdown I never thought how these moves will play out in real life and injury involved on concrete setting. I just followed the rule of cool while watching the scene and never thought about it much.
Also I suggest you refrain form using term Bollywood while reviewing scenes from Indian movie Industry as Bollywood term is restricted to Hindi Language movies and people often get trolled for not knowig the better.
