hello! I just got my 2nd cockatiel as a companion for my other one, (yes their being quarantined for a month), but my new cockatiel is 4 months and has just been converted from formula to eating by herself, she hasnt really ate since I got her (today, this morning) so if anyone can let me know if theirs has had the same problem or when they should start eating by themselves (or how to make her eat or when yours started to eat) please let me know i get a little worried with these things. and yes I really commented this at 11 at night lol. edit: she started eating like a day after we got her so no worries.
I think you are prob enjoying the feedings as much as he is. Lol im hand feeding 1 that i had to pull at 4wks cause the dad had started picking at baby Ziggys feathers. They had already started a new clutch. They only had 1 to hatch out of 4. I was told that he wouldnt accept formula but he took right to a syringe. This is first time ive handfed a tiel baby. But i fed 8 budgies last Winter, mama laid 14 eggs first clutch. Had 9 to hatch. My Ziggy is almost 6 wks old but started eating millet a week ago. Sampling veggies and boiled eggs too. Your baby is just adorable. Would love to see updated video of her.
@@highping5137 i literally have a 3 months old bird that eats themselves from 2 months and flies back to their cage if theyre hungry or when they are. if you bird inst the same species or you are just bad at training them and raising them its not our problem so i think you should be the one shutting up. birds have different personalities and if you dont know that you dont deserve a birb. do your reaserch because one month cockatiels can eat themselves very well .1 month 2 months 3 months doesnt matter.
No. Hand feeding is extremely dangerous and should only ever be done by experienced hands and if absolutely necessary. Your bird is weaned, they do not need formula.
Why does a 4 month old cockatiel need hand feeding> It should have been eating solids a long time ago. You will have lots of trouble getting this bird to eat properly later in life as you;ve got it used to this.
Lamine Fall Couldn’t get her to eat enough on her own. It was suggested, because I got her at 3 weeks and she hadn’t been with other birds that getting another bird would help. That worked, as soon as there was another bird for her to eat with, she was fine.
Thank you. She was weened very shortly after I got another bird. This was the advice I was given after the post. She was eating on her own, but not enough to maintain her weight.
minky suspiciosly looks like my pet bird orb. even the littles pearls around the neck and the funny pattern around the legs!
Awww what a big baby
❤️ 😂
Super cute tho 😊
That's still a baby in bird age's I think
Omg soo cut but isn't she a bit big for hand feeding? My cockatiel is 4 months old too but he eats by himself for like 1 month or even 2❤❤❤❤
She explained it in the video

She is a she. I was still in denial, because I wanted a boy. I love her and wouldn’t trade her for a dozen boys. Lol❤️

Yes, she was actually hand fed until she was nearly 1 year old. Watch the 2nd feeding video for more of the story. ❤️
Send it to cats
Why till 4 months 😯? 8 weeks good

You shouldnt feed youre bird when his this old
???????
He can eat him self you shouldn't be feeding him
You make to him problems... this not funny
What are you talking about? What's not funny? She is feeding him.
@@Renvega77 He is 4 months old and being hand fed. That's whats not funny
@@anupambaglari so the bird is getting all that he needs. I'm sure he is not feeding him like that anymore. As long as he is healthy

How old was he before you can tell the sex?
Should be 3 months weaned by now shouldn’t still be feeding it that
