SPECIAL NOTE - The wood you choose must be UNtreated (i.e., not treated with chemicals). Also, we don't recommend allowing your bird to sit on this perch for extended periods of time because their feet do require variation (similar to a real branch in nature). In addition to this perch, we have many other varied and textured perches that they're constantly moving around on, so they're unlikely to get bumble feet! Hope that clarifies it :)
Thanks for making this video! I like that you kept it simple and achievable, it was really encouraging and just what I was looking for to solve my problem. I was easily able to build one today for my fledging rescue squab who refuses to sit anywhere but my shoulder right now. He’s adorable but a bit intense when he’s flapping his new feathers out. I’ll try him on his new perch tomorrow and see how he likes it…
perfect guys, thank you 💌🦜 have you ever made a 5 ft perch? and id love to learn how to add feeding bowls to the perch too, so if you can help id greatly appreciate it :)
What a great video! So professional too, I wish I had all these tools in my garage!😅 I can’t wait to try this myself with my standard saw and drill for Tikki and Pippa!❤️
Is there something like a bird-safe finish you can add to the top surface of the base board to make less porous and easier to wipe off bird poo? Something like... Mineral oil or coconut oil? Or course something that won't get stinky and rancid.
If its a baby, you shouldn't put them in a cage but in a big box or basket with a layer of plastic and then newspaper on top. But for an adult bird you should just put newspaper in the tray t the bottom where all the poop and stuff goes

Go for it! We just bought these tools, so we were excited to use them, but you can definitely use hand tools too!
Just found this video and your channel. It's incredibly helpful! I can't wait to try this out. Thanks so much!

Bro, not the inspectails 💀
@lukesmith713,
She said inspectiels because her parrots are Cockatiels!
