Harley is friggin hilarious. I love how her first line was, “Hey guys, sorry I’m late. I was busy goin’ number two.” And Rick’s reaction was priceless. I really think Margot Robbie is the perfect Harley Quinn. Her accent and her behaviors is perfect. She’s an incredible actress for the character.
I did not agree at first, I know now because the first attempt at this was ATROCIOUS. Mistakingly put the blame on the actor, but she absolutely killed her role as Harley this time around. Manic without being too far gone into annoying territory. It also helps this attempt leaned more into comic comedy than trying to be a bad action movie. Would not be opposed to her taking over VA work for Harley as well, and hope to see more of her in this role.
This was Kinnman's best role so far. (I enjoyed his take on Robocop as well, but James Gunn really dove into his true potential). It's funny how this is the same character from several years ago who used to be so bland compared to the rest of the team. He didn't change much but the changes that were made to his character made him much more enjoyable. Especially how he treats his squadmates like his proteges. He probably got that from that first Suicide Squad mission after realizing that they are just flawed humans who can do some good and learned to respect them. Now he tries to envoke the best in them from the get go by showing care and respect.
And doing so does get results, which they show subtly but effectively. The entire crew was a twitch away from mutiny and murder the first movie, but here they actually do show him some respect because he gives it to them first. People are always more willing to help and cooperate if they're treated reasonably, which is something Waller never learns but Flagg absolutely does. They actually listen to him, it's really well handled.
Meh, garbage role for a garbage actor, I quit watching the killing after season 1 cause it just dragged, like I don't give a shit who killed rose when they drag it out 3 seasons with 50 red herrings 🤮
Honestly I thought this first team would have made the movie memorable and better than the other they did good but this team seemed fun and more interesting to me
Gunn wanted to capture the feel of the original Squad comics from the 70's, where alot of C and D rank villains bit the bullet every issue, and I like how he got to do that, while keeping his main characters. Harley and Captain Boomerang were in this team to keep audiences guessin' if this squad was going to make it to the end.
Trust me, this movie will age like the finest wine. You can watch this movie over & over & you will not get bored at all. For me, this movie is James Gunn's best movie by far.
No, Waller 100% intended for them to all die there. There is sending troops on missions with high risk of death and then there is sending them on missions where their only choice is to die.

Savants character was a bit uneven in how he died [sorry about the spoiler], having him panic and "run" when he's a stone cold professional _and he knew about the bomb in his head._ He could have just radioed that he was repositioning in order to flank the enemy … that would have made sense.
I feel like that's what makes it funny, the dramatic irony of us as viewers knowing that he's a D-List supervillain is reflected in his immediate cracking under pressure. That was the whole point in having a fakeout with the protagonists. If you saw it coming that he was a goner then his breakdown is comedic, on the flipside if you expected him to be a main character then his breakdown is surprising and still comedic.
In the comics he is trapped and tortured like Jason so it's the reason he's paranoid. He is the original peacemaker of the group while bloodsport is Deadshot.
Savant was never meant to survive, and he realized it. The entire idea of Team 1's assault was so that the enemy would see the predictable American infiltration of Corto Maltese as a complete catastrophic failure while Team 2 made their landing. Waller was just disappointed Savant ended up not playing along. But she would never have let him "flank" or "reposition" because he was only ever supposed to die in full view of the Corto Maltese army. Instead she had to quickly blow his brains before the Corto Maltesians got the idea that members of the team might have escaped to other parts of the island - thereby endangering Team 2. As for Savant - he THOUGHT he was a stone cold professional, which is not the same as being one. You can just tell from his self-given name "Savant" the opinion he had of himself. And in those final moments of life he broke down because he realized he was nothing more than a pawn in the design of someone far smarter than himself.
I never thought about how this team that gets killed right away, they all have such useless powers for a situation where you want superheroes. A guy with a spear, a guy who can detach his arms, a guy with a boomerang…. So it’s like a parody of the team in Suicide Squad 1 like the guy who can climb anything….. and the guy with a boomerang! 🤣
This is how the new 52 does it. Where they specifically take certain people to dump at the sights(a lightening power guy at a stadium full of techno zombies that he killed on his own because no one else really had the ability to save anyone else and who that story’s boomerang pops his collar to pin the story on electric guy) It’s neat in some ways.
Honestly i really liked that interaction between Blackguard and TDK on the plane with the seatbelt. Just them acting like people is really refreshing tbh
