Well fun fact.
HoN was actually REAL DOTA 2 . ICEFROG made it BUT It got bought by S2 Games

In HoN you could differentiate between items way easier than in Dota. I miss that. Dota items all look way too similar on the pictures. This also goes for abilities in the game of Dota. In HoN you could separate the graphical effect of an ability and the sound effects much easier than in Dota. However, I think Dota is more fun to play when it comes to gameplay. But I miss those small things from HoN...The HoN artwork was just superior imo.
Edit: I think there are just too many colors/details in dota item pictures which is confusing.

I don't think many items in dota 2 look the same, most are easily recognizable as an icon, like abilities, maybe by the background color you could get confused but the outline of most are recognizable after some time playing

HoN items are more visual and clear I played both games,in this topic HoN items appearance is good than in dota 2
