      Thanks! Highly recommended them, absolute shock to the system coming from road running, but so worth it.

    Really well done capturing this event, and a solid use of the 360 camera! I was on the brink of ordering one but I've held off for purely DSLR, phone, and GoPro Hero 7 Black for now. Very cool to see how you've put this together.
    I will be sure to check out more. Keep up the great work!

      Thanks Jamie! I have too many cameras! But use all of them for the day job.

      360 gives such a cool perspective but it is so much slower in post as you have to reframe and export

    Super video Stephen, and well done filming the event and also taking part.

    Really enjoyed the video. The 360 camera is class, I'm going to have to get myself one of those.

      Thanks very much! Yeah the 360 camera, gives some class shots. But I only use it for a handful as it’s slow to process and the audio quality is bad compared to the GoPro. I made a video showing the process: ua-cam.com/video/tR-91CuCMp8/v-deo.html

    You need to sort out that toe pain. Amazing video and editing as always the benchmark for running bloggers. Simply the best. I was struggling to get motivated for my fen run this week but no more! TY

    I hiked this yesterday and the start is just ridiculously hard through the woods past Fiddlers Green up to Clonmore. Could be my lick of preparation or that it's just so steep.

    I love that you left in the part where you forgot the name of the mountain. Also I have to figure out that map thing.

      Mistakes are to be celebrated! Especially if they will get a laugh. 🤣 Just download the Relive app and use Strava to track your runs. I contacted the developers and they said it’s fine to use the videos in vlogs as long as the Relive logo is visible.

    Wish I'd have known about this race I'd have given it a go, maybe... Running my first race on 8th June 10k in kilbroney, inspired by you and always wanting to have tried this sort of thing. I love the mountains. Where is the best place to find out about all upcoming races like this one? 26 extreme is only thing I know about at min. Thanks for the video. Class as usual.

      Thanks Colin! That’s amazing you’ve decided to go do your first race, enjoy! Like you I struggled to know how to know about what is happening locally. I found joining my local running club was a big help as people talked about various races. Also check out NIMRA (Northern Ireland Mountain running association) there’s a website and FB group. Also Born2Run events. And check out www.newcastleac.org/?page_id=13250 for The Hill and Dale Series. It’s already started but I think you can still sign up for the upcoming races.

    It's good to see that I'm not the only one who messes up his intros. That 360 camera is so cool. I have taken a break when I can't breathe but played it off as just showing the beautiful view. How many black toenails did you end up with?

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  5 років тому

      I mess up all the time, thought this one was particularly funny, couldn’t believe I forgot the name of the place! Yeah 360 makes for some great shots, although it’s one more distraction and a pain in post. You’ll notice I didn’t talk much on the way up, was a relentless race.

    • @StephenJReid
      @StephenJReid  5 років тому

      Oh and I’ve got one toenail that’s just a little bit darkened. Think it’ll recover.

    The section at the top looked fun, bit like a grassy rollercoaster. 😁

    Another great Video Stephen. Was there also and your description from start to finsh was spot on. If the weather is good for Binnian you will be treated to some great views www.flickr.com/photos/16121852@N04/albums/72157667402524130/with/26251087353/ especially over Silent Valley from the top.
